As I Am Coconut Cowash Cleansing Conditioner, 16 Ounce

I read the reviews and got this over the weekend. Yep...this is definitely a keeper. I used about a palm and a half for my whole head (natural kinky 3c/4a hair, just past shoulders) and I loved it. First, the scent is heavenly (but it doesn't linger too much) and it really detangled my hair nicely. The slip was excellent; I didn't even really need a comb, just my fingers. I left it in for about 10 minutes and then rinsed it all out. My hair was clean (not squeaky so it didn't completely dry it out which I hate), soft and shiny. I used a diffuser on medium heat for about 5 7 minutes, added coconut oil to the ends, detangled again briefly with a Denman Brush and braided for the night. I woke up to beautiful defined curls and no frizz. Will definitely buy this again. Great deal for the money since I'm sure I could have used less.

I have never done a co-wash and had no idea what it was until recently. I am currently transitioning and growing my relaxer out of my hair. I wear my hair in a protective style (cornrow braids under my wigs) and I have been using this to cleanse my hair weekly from the oils that I use daily. It cleanses very well, recently I used it to wash my hair after I took my braids down this weekend and I love the softness my natural hair has now. since I have been using it my hair has not felt brittle or coarse like it used to when I maintained a relaxer. Definitely a staple product to have to maintain healthy hair.

Update 9/18/2012 I BC'd in June of this year and I use this co-wash on a daily basis. Still very happy with how is works on my natural hair and will remain a staple product for me.

Update 2/28/2013 I still use this co-wash. I have decided to keep my hair short and I really love how moisturizing the co-wash and how little I need to use to get the moisturizing properties.

I have curly, tangly hair, and buy a new brand of shampoo/conditioner every time i finish my old bottles. Never buy the same thing again, as nothing works... but this one, is "THE ONE". It leaves my hair soft and shiny, while cutting down on my hair wash time. It does not dry out my scalp, but hair doesn't feel squeaky clean. I use this in alternation with pantene shampoo-conditioner combo to keep my scalp clean. Once I stop using silicone based leave-in conditioners, I think I will be able to use this product as my only hair wash. :)

Would recommend co-washing, and using this co-wash to every curly head.

Ok, first of all, I'm a a 3a white-girl, and I did get some odd looks from the cashier at Sally's when purchasing this product. I am not at all sorry that I did, though -it's just what I've been looking for. Like many before me, I like Wen, but I do not like the price. This is a nice alternative -it was on sale for $6.99 and I had a 20% coupon -so I actually paid about $5.60. In my opinion, that's not bad for 16 oz. of product.

Now, my results: GREAT. My hair feels clean and LIGHT (anybody who has ever had build-up or a co-wash that didn't get you quite clean enough will appreciate this) and OH-so-soft. Like, seriously, you won't believe how soft. My curls are shiny and defined (well, except I kept putting my hands in 'em, so they probably could have looked even better if I had more self-control!) But, seriously -my hair feels so nice. Waaaaaaay better than when I co-wash with Vo5 conditioners. I'd say the results I've gotten are comparable to Wen, maybe even better.

The only Con I can think of is -well, I am not too too crazy about the smell. I know I'm in the minority there -as most people love it. It's not God-awful, just not great, in my opinion. That will not stop me from re-purchasing, though -as I think this stuff is awesome. If you're wondering if it'll work well on caucasion hair, I vote 'yes' -it's amazing for mine.
