Derma E - Clear Skin 1, 6 oz (Multi-Pack)

derma e Clear Skin 1 Problem Skin Cleanser, 6 fl ozI started using this a month ago in conjunction with Derma e's problem skin moisturizer and spot treatment. I have mild to moderate adult acne and I tried most everything I could get my hands on. I was using a benzoyl peroxide treatment prior to derma-e but was unhappy with the results. I just felt dryer and as if I were wrinkling prematurely. The benzoyl peroxide did nothing to help the problemjust dry it out. I've come to terms with my skin. I don't expect a miracle, that perfect flawless skin, anymore. I am, however, really happy with the results of this cleanser. I just started noticing results one month into the regiment. My skin hasn't broken out since I started using it. I still have redness and scars but they're also improving. I noticed this mainly because I had to use less concealer! The texture of my skin is definitely better. It's not an overnight change and it's not a miraculously flawless skin guarantee; but, my skin hasn't been this happy in as long as I can remember. I don't use this to remove makeup and I don't expect it to have the power to remove it. I also hated the smell at the start but have grown used to it. I would recommend this to anyone who has mild to moderate acne. I was starting to get horrible cystic pimples and needed something new. Luckily, this is just what I needed.

I like the cleaner because it did not give my sensitive skin any problem. It's not strong enough to remove my makeup. I suggest you wash your face with a makeup remover cleanser first before you use this cleanser. I don't even wear heavy makeup. I wore Bare Minerals which is basically powder. After washing, I used a cotton pad to tone my skin (step 2) and noticed makeup on the cotton pads ... that's when I know that the cleanser would not remove all of the makeup. But, if your makeup is removed or you don't wear makeup, then this cleanser is good and natural.

Was wondering if an organic cleanser would clean as well as my regular cleanser? Was very happy! I have combination skin. this product cleans without drying out my dry areas but keeps the oily areas under control. I don't take off makeup with it so can't comment on that. Another thing I thought the pricing was very reasonable. Especially for an organic/speciality product. Actually cheaper or comparable to many name brand cleansers and does a great job!

I've used this product for years and prefer it over any mainstream cleanser such as neutrogena, cetaphyl, etc. The product line, Derma-e, is overall excellent and is very expensive when bought at retailers like wholefoods or other organic supermarkets. The price when bought on amazon is a little more than half of what they normally charge elsewhere.

As far as quality goes, I would compare it to super-premium organic products like Zia. I've had severe acne and have needed acutane treatments, and still use prescription topicals like differin & duac, but I go to Derma-e's line of products because their cleansers & moisturizers are well formulated to deal with difficult skin without drying. At the same time, these products are also great at controlling oily skin.

But as other reviewers have noted it is not going to solve the most extreme cases of acne but rather will be an excellent companion to whatever pharmeceutical solutions you resort to. Truth be told, in these extreme cases such as mine, I have never found an over the counter solution. Yet the Derma-e stuff has helped control the milder/moderate breakouts that occur from time to time.

I also recommend Derma-e moisturizers because they are very rich and yet will not overmoisturize and leave you feeling greasy like many other products. As with all skin care regimens, especially those of us who are prone to breakouts, you should cleanse, tone, & moisturize day/night. And when the oil levels on your skin become uncontrollable no matter what, use an oil absorbing facial mask. I say this mainly for those guys out there who suffer from acne and would like to know how to care for themselves better. Doing this is 100 times better than what i used to do(a bar of soap and clearasil at the end of the day) and it is also a step above other stuff like proactive.

I used this cleanser for several months with not real improvement. I finally concluded that my face is sensitive to willow bark "salicylic acid" I would get red deep pimples from using it. I changed my face wash to proactive, it was truly a last resort because I did not want to pay monthly for anything. It has been three months now that I am using proactive. When I started I had 13 very large active infected pimples. I have oily combo skin and I live in Florida so the humidity and temperature make acne worse. I use derma e vitamin a and green tea moisturizer. It has jojoba oil which doesn't break me out. I have been putting raw aloe vera on my face each night for the past 2 weeks. I buy a large stem at the grocery store and put the inner fleshy part on my face. (you could buy a whole plant at home depot) It really helped with the inflammation. I put the inner filet also in my smoothies. It doesn't taste like anything and is good for your digestion.

Sense, I have been battling acne for years after taking birth control, I decided to really fight it this time. I went to a new dermatologist. She put me on duac and told me to stay on proactive. I saw a huge improvement in the infections from Duac, it is a topical antibiotic with benzoyle peroxide. It did not make my face raw or flakey. I used it for 6 weeks and everything on my face is cleared up. Again I use a good moisturizer at night. I also decided my acne was emotional. So I have been getting acupuncture for my nerves and taking some Chinese herbal pills the acupuncturist suggested. They are for balancing you circulation and easing your mind. After two weeks my mind was calm and I really felt a huge difference. I have been on them for 2 months now and I go to acupuncture once a month.

I also changed my makeup. I can not use powders. The brushes keep bacteria. I use a oil free primer from Laura mercier and her full coverage silk liquid makeup. This was a suggestion from my dermatologist. I really like it so far and no break outs. It is expensive but the bottles are big and a little goes a long way. Coverage for dark spots is amazing and if feels really light on your skin. I went to sephora and the woman kept pushing me to buy another product. I had to stay firm on my dermatologist's recommendation and buy Laura Mercier. I am glad I did. I tried Coverfx and the liquid did not work, the powder was terrible and the cream foundation so heavy. Never going back.

I also, take natures bounty hair, skin and nails complex vitamin. I take them every other day and drink lots of water first thing in the morning to flush my system.

I hope you liked my recommendations and I hope that your skin is clear!
