My family has used PanOxyl Acne Cleansing Bar off and on for years on Pharmacist's recommendation BEFORE Benzoyl Peroxide was deemed the acne cure-all in nearly ALL acne preparations. We have used both the 5% and 10% BOTH are now very difficult to find, I stocked up when 5-6 bucks a bar. I can remember paying less than 2 bucks a bar at local drug stores when it still was in the red, white and blue box. When I called Stieffel about the scarcity they mentioned difficulties with their factory in Mexico where it's made.I replaced my normal facial washes that I use in the shower with this bar. So nothing's changed in my already crazy life. This was an easy thing to do and easy to keep up with since I was already washing my face in the shower. Anything that's easy to do, I'm a fan of. I only use this product once a day. So, although there's drying, it's not too bad. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I have noticed a small difference. That's way better than the previous face washes I was using. I've tried all the facial scrubs/washes that are available at the stores and never saw any changes. With this product I definitely notice a difference and even feel it too. It makes my skin feel very tight so I immediately put facial lotion on my face after using this soap. It hasn't completely eliminated my acne. So that's the downfall. However, I'm hoping that maybe after using it for a long time (like a year or so) that it will continue decreasing my acne to the point that it's either all gone or hardly noticeable even under a magnified mirror. But I HIGHLY recommend this product. It's easy to use and it actually works in reducing acne. I haven't noticed any bad side affects other than during our dry Dallas winters, I do get some irritation due to the dryness. But I use neosporin on the terribly affected and most painful areas and that always does the job.
