Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate Facial Treatment Products

I've used this product for exactly one year now and LOVE it! It's the only thing I've tried that has made the pores on either side of my nose almost non-existent, and I've tried everything-been 15 years of testing products, since I was 16 years old. I don't consider this a moisturizer as I also use a lancome moisturizer after I apply this concentrate. I've read that others complain that this dries out their skin, but they don't mention if they are also using a moisturizer over it. For me, its definitely worth the price. I always get compliments on my skin/complexion! :)

I got suckered into a Lancome facial at my local department store about 2 years ago and, of course, ended up buying some of the products. The prices were outrageous but for some reason I was feeling extra rich that day so I bought it anyway. On my way home reality set in and I was shocked at myself for what I had done! But now that I had this stuff I was going to give it a try.

This was the first serum I had ever used and all I can say is, the Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate is the most incredible stuff I have ever put on my face. It feels like liquid silk, and rubbing it on is almost sensual. I only use a total of 3 drops for my face (1 on each cheek and 1 on my forehead) so it lasted a year and a half. After it was gone I felt that surely I could find an adequate serum for a fraction of the price of Genifique. I tried Olay Regenerist, Estee Lauder Night Repair, and a few others, and every single one of them made my face break out. I do not have particularly sensitive skin, and it's very rare for me to have a bad reaction to a skin care product, but every one of those serums caused breakouts. So I bit the bullet and bought the Genifique again. I'm 55 and skin maintenance is getting more important and I really like what a serum does for me and frankly, I'm worth it. [...smile...]

As another reviewer said, this is NOT a moisturizer. It helps with skin tones, pore size, and generally soothes the skin. It seems to help lighten age spots, although nothing makes them completely go away. But you do still need to use a moisturizer in addition to this. Generally, I wash my face, use a toner, then put the Genifique on. I like to wait a few minutes before putting on the moisturizer to give the Genifique a chance to soak in, but if I'm in a hurry I go ahead and put on the moisturizer right away. It probably doesn't make any difference if I wait or not, I just like the feeling of the Genifique for a few minutes.

It is possible that I could have kept trying cheaper serums and eventually found one that would work for me, but I got tired of the breakouts and since I knew I liked the Genifique so much I just decided to splurge on it. If you can stomach the cost, and especially if you've had problems with other serums, this is worth a try. You can always get a sample size to try out first if you don't want to dive into the full size.

By the way, I admit I did not buy my Genifique from Amazon so I can not comment on the quality of the products their sellers are sending out. For something like this I prefer to purchase from the actual company. Just my personal preference.

It has an instant effect on complexion. This is the good thing of this product. I have been using it for two moths and haven't noticed any long term effect whatsoever. No allergies but I am not prone to them. I consider it too expensive for the result.

I had previously ordered a sample size of this product to see if I liked it. I was really impressed with the results, so this time I chose this larger size. The item arrived in a timely manner and I was quite surprised at the size of this bottle. It is much larger than I expected. I wasn't really impressed with the packaging. It is a glass bottle that came only in a bubble envelope. That seems more than a bit risky.

The product itself is very nice. I am a 38-year-old woman residing in Florida most of my life. I don't spend a lot of time in the sun, but I also don't have a hardcore skin care regimen. I have fine lines around my eyes and some vertical wrinkles on my cheeks from sleeping on my side. All of these were nearly invisible after about 10 days using this product.

I am prone to breakouts, but this product did not bother me at all. It feels light going on and absorbs quickly.

I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and purchase it again.
