IMMEDIATE REACTION:
The bottle is NOT the same bottle as authentic M7. Authentic, original M7 is in a bronze-stained glass; the entire bottle is bronze...just like the picture Amazon shows! However, the bottle you receive is CLEAR glass with one side painted bronze! This is an immediate red flag.
THE "OKAY":
The smell is still nice. Actually, very nice. Not quite the same though. And worse off, it does not last long at all. Whereas, real M7 was known for lasting easily all day.
THE BAD: it is clearly a fake. How do I know? Getting the following answer took me a while, because the people at the generic YSL website customer service line were useless. And then they put me through to a "product specialist" who also couldn't confirm or deny the authenticity of the product. Finally, I got the number to the corporate office, called and get yet another number to the YSL Consumer Affiars Division: 800-422-2360. I explained the situation in detail, and they offered to do some research and call me back. They did look at the manufacturing of the M7 product from 2002 2006 (when it discontinued), and they confirmed that M7 was NEVER EVER EVER made in a clear bottle. As a result, this is a confirmation that this product is a KNOCKOFF!
Now, I will give Amazon the benefit of the doubt and will assume they would not intentionally sell a knockoff "wrapped" up like the real thing. That would just be plain stupid of them. So my guess, as another reviewer stated, is that Amazon got duped!
But they should IMMEDIATELY take this item off the website and stop selling them!
Finally, as a knockoff, it smells good and it probably worth $15-$25, depending on how much you yearn for M7.
Hope this review helps. I have it seems like 20 bottles of very expensive cologne but the YSL M7 is my favorite and the best. The product has a woodsy rich smell that lasts and lasts ........
After using soap for all my long life I have discvered the shower gel that now replaces soap FOREEVER ....
Not a cheap product and its hard to find but well well worth it

I wear Angel (Thiery Mugler) but wanted something else for variety. I smelled the M7 at a store and liked it. The scent is less overpowering than Angel, but satisfyingly spicy and complex. A good buy.Read Best Reviews of M7 By Yves Saint Laurent For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.3 Oz. Here
After reading 2 other reviews stating that this item is not the real thing, I ordered a small sample from a reputable source. When the Amazon M7 arrived, I tested each one on a separate wrist, and there isn't any difference that I can discern: both have that smoky, acrid sort of oudh scent that I prefer to the so-called masculine florals and fruitier juices. The only odd thing about this is the unbelievably low Amazon price!Want M7 By Yves Saint Laurent For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.3 Oz. Discount?
First, if you're reading this, you probably know that M7 no longer exists. It was reformulated, marketed as M7 Fresh, and ultimately M7 Oud Absolu (neither of which are the same as M7, and many would argue, are not really that close to M7 in any way whatsoever). This, the original M7, can still be found online, but prices are high and it is rather scarce. Also, if you're searching for this, you probably know a little about the legendary and polarizing M7. It really is one-of-a-kind as far as men's scents go. I can't personally think of anything in my collection (of about 20) that comes remotely close. The scent is a bit medicinal, a bit smokey, and then toward the end a bit powdery. It's a bit overpowering at first, but later becomes oddly soothing and comforting. In many ways, it's alluring and a bit hypnotic. To me, this is not intended to be someone's signature fragrance but rather a rare treat. In some ways, M7 is a bit of a novelty albeit a well-crafted one. It's really hard to do it justice in writing, but I think it's a love it or hate it situation with this one. I would also say this is for a more mature individual due to the brashness of the scent, and thus is probably not meant for the teens/early 20s crowd there is something very decidedly masculine and aggressive about it which requires a level of maturity or confidence to wear successfully.
