...Thirty years ago I stayed at a very rustic wilderness lodge on the remote upper St. Joe River in Idaho. I first started using this shampoo many years ago and I liked it, but, since my local stores don't carry it, I tried switching to other brands, but none of the other dozens of shampoos I've tried are as good as this one for my hair. I have long, dark, wavy tending towards frizzy hair. Because my hair is so long, I don't wash it every day, so I need a shampoo that gives a good deep clean, but doesn't dry my hair out. This shampoo works great. After using it my hair feels very clean but not at all striped. I use this shampoo week after week and there is no build-up. My natural hair color is quite dark, so I can't really tell how much the henna works, but this shampoo leave my hair looking good. The one thing this shampoo is not good for is getting out tangles if you have long hair like I do, I definitely recommend using a conditioner with this shampoo. I prefer BWC conditioner over the Mill Creek conditioners.

I have long, thick, wavy hair that needs a lot of moisture, yet can still easily get too oily. I have tried dozens of different shampoos, including expensive salon brands and I keep coming back to this shampoo. It cleans my hair completely WITHOUT overdrying or stripping my hair. I don't know that the henna does much to change the color of my hair, but it does give my hair a nice shine. If I could just find a conditioner that worked this well, I'd be set for life.

I like this shampoo because it adds body to my otherwise limp hair, highlights the light tones, and does not have wax in it. I don't need conditioner when I use it.
