Alba Botanica Hawaiian Coconut Milk Facial Wash

Let me start this off by saying that I have oily skin with average/large pores. I usually HAVE to use a soap based facial cleanser, as they are the only ones that will clean deep enough to unclog my pores entirely when I wash my face. The Coconut Milk Face wash does not deep clean into pores very well, or remove make-up. You can get it to do both, but you have to use a ton of it, and wash your face several times over. The reason I gave this four stars is because it shines as something to use when you need to "freshen up". It's so mild and non-drying that I do not have to use a moisturizer after using it, and it leaves no residue on my face what-so-ever. I try to only "wash" [soap, toner, moisturizer] my face twice a day, but sometimes I make it half way through the day and my face is a little oilier than I'd like so I'll use this as an alternative to going through my whole facial cleansing routine. It's really great. It helps keep my skin looking fresh all day long without me feeling like I've been over-washing my face. It's great for carrying around with you in your purse when you need to quickly freshen-up away from home.

I LOVE this stuff. I have very dry, red, itchy facial skin (rosacea?) and most cleansers make my face enflamed. This cleanser is so mild, yet actually cleans my face. Other mild cleansers leave a residue, or don't clean very well, but the coconut milk formula keeps me from having breakouts. This is the only stuff I'll use!

I have purchased this product in stores for years and loved it. However, the product has changed. The product I received is different that what is pictured. The bottle I received does say "facial wash", but it also says "New Look" and "deep cleansing". The first ingredient is water and the second is alcohol! The fourth ingredient is another alcohol! Also, the fragrance is unpleasant.

The company contact has also changed. Perhaps Alba was recently purchased?

If you were looking for Alba's gentle face wash, don't buy this.

I love this product! It is not meant to lather. Milky cleansers are not meant to lather, but are much milder to the face. They wash off perfectly with a few splashes of water, and don't leave your face feeling dry like the bar and foaming cleansers can. The smell is wonderful too. Always follow up with a non-alcohol toner before applying moisturizer and you'll never feel any residue from any cleanser, creamy or otherwise.
