For years I have had dust allergies and my dr. suggested using an air filter/cleaner. I never had the space or the money to be able to get one, so I multi-tasked my room a/c unit. It pulls the room air through it and then blows out the then better filtered, cooler air. I simply place 2 sheets on the outside of the filter that goes into the a/c and the room air that is pulled in goes through the dryer sheets, then through the a/c filter and comes out more strongly filtered and leaves a nice, soft scent. Furnace air fresheners and all the strong aerosol air fresheners are much too strong to have constantly circulating in a room. These sheets have a very mild scent, that never over perfumes my bedroom.

I already use my a/c year round anyway (heat sensitivity-but family needs furnace) so adding these sheets saves me from running double electricity as I combined one appliance for two purposes. I discovered this trick when the apartment building in which I was living in had to have outdoor brick work done and we were all told not to run our a/c unit or it would fill up and be damaged with the dust from cutting the brick. I placed dryer sheets inside the sleeve to the outdoors (opposite what I use inside now) and it effectively kept all the dust out of my unit. The fibers are so much more tightly spun than the regular a/c filters and blocked anything that could get through besides air. Several people that summer had to replace their units because the dust was so heavy, from a month of cutting the bricks and became impossible to clean out.

Definitely worth the purchase and is a multi-task item!

These fabric softener sheets for the dryer are excellent! Not only do these fabric softener sheets soften my clothing in the dryer, they leave my clothing with a nice scent that I really like and they are also good for taking away odors in sneakers, shoes and even clothes drawers! I also like the creative suggestion from the reviewer who writes that they use these in their air conditioner.

Two things I want to note: first, try brick and mortar stores before buying these here. As of this time, you may be able to save a little if you buy these in a supermarket or another store. (You'll also save the shipping cost.) Second, of course, if you are allergic to any scents keep looking for unscented dryer fabric softener sheets.
