Earth Science Clarifying Facial Wash

Earth Science Clarifying Facial Wash, 8 OunceI have been using Earth Science Clarifying Facial Wash for 2 yrs. now. A friend of mine was cleaning out her bathroom cabinet and gave it to me with a few other half-used items. She has pretty balanced skin and she's constantly trying new products out, however, I have oily/acne-prone skin so when I find something that even kinda works I use it forever or until they stop making it. I tried the bottle of earth science she gave me after my regular Aveeno face wash ran out and my skin seemed to clear up right around that time. So I used up what was left in the bottle and returned to my usual face wash. Pretty soon after my skin started breaking out like old times. After a couple weeks of this I decided that maybe the Earth Science was working and I should get some ASAP. When I finally found it at Whole Foods and started using it I saw an improvement in my skin in about 2 days. I haven't stopped using it since. It can be hard to find (I have to go to Whole Foods to get it usually, HEB is always out of the face wash) but I freak out when I'm getting low. The other bonus is that I don't get that weird oily skin but with flaky dry patches during the winter months like I always got with other acne washes. Overall this is a good balancing face wash for mild to severely oily skin.

I was using Neutrogena face wash before I decided to try something new which was necessary, because even though I have oily skin, Neutrogena still managed to dry my face out, which resulted in my face producing even *more* oil than usual, which just wasn't acceptable for me. Too gross, and sometimes resulted in breakouts.

That said, I love the scent of this product. It's not nearly as harsh or chemical-smelling at Neutrogena. It absolutely washes my face, but it doesn't dry it out and make it feel stiff like Neutrogena did, either. My face (seriously, people, *very* oily naturally), has been producing less since I've been using this. It also makes my face feel baby-skin smooth, which I adore. I plan on using this product for the rest of my life, because I think it's that great. It may not work so well with other types of skin, I don't know. If you have anything other than oily skin, I would recommend finding someone who has your same skin type before deciding whether or not to purchase this product.

I love this cleanser and hope I will always be able to find it! Never drying or irritating. I use in winter and summer and just change my moisturizer.

This is a great face wash. I have oily skin and this wash gets my skin clean without drying it out. My dermatologist told me to use Cetaphil and I used that for a year. That didn't dry my face out but problem was that it didn't really control my acne. I've also tried some of the acne washes available at the drug store (like the Neutrogena ones with salicylic acid) but those irritate my skin too much. This face wash is the perfect balance in between -gets your face clean but doesn't dry it all up.

This is the best facial cleanser I have tried. I have purchased about 6 or 7 times now and my skin looks great. Why? Not so much what this has in it but what the PH is. It is very hard to find a facial cleanser that is at the right PH. Most are 7, 8 or higher more alkaline. Many companies formulate their cleansers that way to avoid eye irritation. Unfortunately this is not good for your skin because it takes 20-30 minutes for your skin's PH to normalize after you wash it with a product with a too high PH. That is alright if you wait that long before you put on an "active" like a BHA. AHA, Vitamin C product or Retin-A. However, with a cleanser like this one which has a PH of 5 you can apply your product immediately without worrying that it will be ineffective. I have noticed a drastic difference in my skin with just simply switching to this cleanser but changing nothing else in my skin care routine; PH is very important in order for the products you apply to do what they are suppose to do! This is especially true if you suffer from acne and find that your acne products are not working. Try to switching to a lower PH cleanser and see how much better your skin will look.
