La Roche-posay Toleriane Gentle Dermo-cleanser

As a former consumer of Pevonia and Kinerase products, I am now a big believer of La Roche-Posay products. My dermatologist suggested a few products to treat my rosacea and my sensitive skin. I use Toleriane Gentle Dermo Cleanser twice a day, the daily moisturizer with the 15 UV protection in the morning and the Rosaliac moisturizer at night. My skin is better than ever! The La-Roche Posay products are light on the skin yet they work their magic.

Let me preface this review by saying that I've tried all kinds of cleansers. I've used all natural ones (such as Alba), and fancy ones, (Yonka, as featured on Oprah), and ALL of them have caused rashes, redness, puffiness, and dryness. I have very sensitive skin. Blame my English ancestors!

In comes La Roche-Posay Toleriane! I found it online when I was doing a search for non-foaming cleansers. They aren't kidding when they say this stuff is gentle! I tried a bit on the back of my hand first (just to make sure), and my hand was not only fine, the skin felt softer. So, I tried it on my face. Amazing! It is gentle and moisturizing and leaves my skin glowing!!! I can use it everyday, and my skin just glows.

I can't recommend the Gentle Dermo-Cleanser for sensitive skin more!

This is a gentle cleanser that I use once a day in combination with a prescription cleanser. I have sensitive skin, rosacea, and acne. I just started taking accutane and plan to use this cleanser as my sole face wash once my skin becomes too dry and fragile to use the prescription wash. It is mild enough to not irritate my sensitive skin. I highly recommend this wash!

This cleanser is wonderfully gentle and soothing for my sensitive, mildly-pink skin (rosacea), but it did absolutely nothing to remove facial makeup, even after three times trying. I'd consider using it just for mornings, but it's a bit too pricey for that, and I prefer to use as few products on my skin as possible.

That said, this cleanser did not irritate my skin or turn it red, so it is an excellent option for Rosies. I did not use the wipe-off option because wiping a cotton pad across my skin is irritating, but it rinsed relatively easily.

If you don't wear makeup and you have sensitive, dry skin, this would be a a very gentle cleanser, but I wear makeup, and the cleanser was too gentle to take off my face! I prefer Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil, which cleanses (even eye makeup) and moisturizes in one step, even my oily T zone, with no need for toner afterward.

This is literally the only cleanser I can use. The dermatologist had me try all sorts of products in hopes that I wouldn't react to them, but to no avail. Then finally, she had me try Toleriane...back when it was only sold through the doctor's office. I'm so glad for this cleanser, and so glad it can be purchased at drugstores and Amazon now. It really does work for super sensitive skin like mine.
