Komenuka Bijin Facial Cleansing Powder (30 pk)

I really like the creamy foam that this rice-based cleanser develops when mixed with water. It does a nice job of cleaning and smoothing my skin, effectively removing both makeup and the grime of the day, but without stripping my skin. I am already comfortable with using a cleanser in powder form, being a fan of the Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals powder cleanser, and am glad I finally tried this Komenuka Bikin cleanser. So far I think I like it better. I have found this cleanser to be a bit more soothing of the two, probably since it is completely soy-free (unlike the BE cleanser). I am sensitive to soy and it is a problem for me that many "natural" skin care lines are adding soy to their ingredient lists (because of its anti-aging benefits and/or because it is plentiful and cheap right now?). This is a pricey cleanser (maybe it is cheaper in Japan) but I am glad to have it in my arsenal. It helps that I can indeed get three uses from each packet. I hope in future to be able to buy a larger quantity at once to increase the savings/mitigate the cost.

The powder in the packets is applied to damp skin and you may only need 1/3 of the packet at a time. The granules quickly melt into a deep skin cleansing foam. The ingredients are soothing and don't irritate your skin.
