I used to have terrible breakouts as a teenager on my very oily skin and the Neutrogena line of soaps, glycerin bar or liquid were the only line of products that consistently prevented or reduced my breakouts. Now middle aged, I still have the occasional breakout but they are pretty minor and most liquid soaps are adequate for prevention. Turns out the ingredients used to turn soap into bar form aggravates skin and causes breakouts.

I'd still be using this product on my face except I find the Neutrogena body wash is OK for my face since it is much less sensitive now. Always happy to eliminate another jar from the counter top.

This is the only facial cleanser I've ever used that doesn't leave a residue on my skin or cause breakouts. It is drying though, so those with very dry skin will probably want to find something else. It is excellent for oily skin. I also love that it is fragrance-free, since I am very sensitive to perfumes.
