Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash, 5 Ounce (Pack of 2)

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash, 5 OunceI am obsessed with having a clean face before bed and again in the morning before I apply fresh makeup so I am always happy to try new facial cleansers. I had never before heard of the Simple SkinCare line but dealing with the skin condition Rosacea for years it is imperative that I use products geared toward sensitive skin. This 5 oz bottle is the standard "upside down" storing squeeze bottle most facial cleansing manufacturers have adopted.

The front of the bottle states there are 2 vitamins, 1 skin loving nutrient, and 0 perfumes or dyes. Reading the ingredient list, I am not sure which is which. Here are the ingredients in the order they are listed:

Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Propylene Glycol, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Glycol Distearate, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Polyquaternium-39, Laureth-10, Cocomide MEA, Sodium Chloride, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Disodium EDTA, Dipropylene Glycol, Methylparaben.

Wow. So much for being "simple". Sounds like an entire science lab is in this product. I had never heard of Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil so I looked it up. It is a common ingredient in "natural" products as it is derived from the Anthemis Nobilis flower (in the Chamomile family so take heed if you are allergic to Chamomile). The Pelargonium Graveolens Oil is what is used to make geranium oil and has a rose scent. That might be all nice and natural sounding but I can't get past the second ingredient being Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This and its cousin Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are BAD for your skin. Over the past year I have stopped using any products that contain them. Please do a Google search for them and you will see what I am talking about. Now, stepping down from my soapbox I will simply tell you how the product worked.

It is a pearly white color and has a nice smooth texture that comes out of the bottle easily. I applied it directly to my face with my hands as directed. It cleaned well (removing all traces of makeup) and had a nice pleasant subtle Rose scent. It rinsed off fairly easy but not as well as I would have liked. I noticed the next morning after washing my face again with Simple that my face was a bit itchy. I am not sure if there is something in the product's many ingredients that I am allergic to or if the cleanser combined with my moisturizer was the problem. So, I am going to experiment again with only putting my moisturizer on one side of my face after cleansing.

I guess if you are not concerned about ingredients like SLES (Sodium Laureth) and SLS (Sodium Lauryl) then it is a product worth trying. I won't recommend it however unless they reformulate and remove the Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

EDIT 12/24/11: I tested the cleanser regarding the itching issue and it seems that there is something in it that is not combining well with the ingredients in my moisturizer (Olay brand). I haven't encountered that problem with other facial cleansers and my moisturizer.

While I didn't toally dislike this facial wash, I wasn't overly enthused about it either.

It is a typical, basic face cleanser. Creamy, lathers well and rinses well. It has a very light scent. I have to be picky with what I use on my face as my skin doesn't like alot of products, but this one caused no irritations.

As for the "moisturizing" claim, I don't feel that this product was moisturizing at all. During the winter I get dry spots/patches on my face. After using this cleanser for several weeks, I saw no difference in those dry areas. The cleanser did not add any moisturization. Honestly though, that is ok because I use a moisturizer anyway and I do not rely on a cleanser to add moisture, BUT if it claims to do something, you should see at least some sort of proof of those claims. I do use other cleansers particularly in the winter which do better at keeping my skin moisturized and minimizing the dry spots and redness.

I didn't notice any other spectacular or amazing effects.. no glowing skin, no diminished wrinkles or anything else. No decrease in the seasonal redness or dry patches. Again, I wasn't expecting those things either, but just pointing out the fact that this is your regular everyday cleanser, with no added benefits.

I wouldn't necessarily advise against buying this cleanser, but I also would not specifically recommend it. It is ok for the price, but there are others in the price range for sensitive skin which have better results.

Some reviewers question the list of ingredients, but most facial washes have a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. Just because they sound weird, doesn't make them bad. So unless you're a chemist or a dermatologist, don't assume that it's bad.

At least one reviewer gave the product bad marks because you can't put it around your eyes. Lots of facial soaps/cremes make similar warnings. That doesn't make this a lousy product. It's not called, "Eye cleaner" or "Eye moisturizer." It's for the face. While the eyes are part of the face, it's a special part that is super sensitive, which is why there are special products just for that.

Overall, this product is quite good and delicate. Is it the best thing ever? No, but I'm happy with it and probably most people would be too.

I am a forty-eight-year-old man who was born with raunchy skin. My complexion is best described as oily, especially my forehead. Keeping my face free of acne was a daily struggle until I received the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System (Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System) which taught me the importance of exfoliation. The rotating brush gently deep cleans my skin while removing dead cells as evidenced by the black grime found in its bristles; I've had to replace the brush since faithfully using it every day for the past year. I lather my face with the Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser (Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser, 6 Ounce) prior to using the cleanser's rotating brush.

I dare say that I experienced miraculous results using the Olay products. After a few months of continual usage, my skin became remarkably healthier and more manageable. There were fewer pimples, especially on my nose. (When I did get a pimple, it seemed to vanish sooner than normal.) My skin was smoother, more vibrant and more toned. My self-confidence and self-esteem increased as my acne problems decreased. Let's face it, men also want healthier skin. Pimples hurt, physically, emotionally and financially; research has shown that if two applicants of equal qualification interview for the same job, the more attractive one will get it.

With that said, I was hesitant about trying the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash. I didn't want to alter a cleansing regiment that had been proven successful. However, I believe that beauty products are like medicines. Sometimes our bodies become immune to them and they no longer work as effectively. It is good to try a new product. When I was bodybuilding, I had to change my weight lifting routines in order for my muscles to continue growing. Therefore, I decided to try the Simple Wash. If I experienced difficulties, I would gladly run back to the Olay products.

I quit using my Neutrogena Transparent Facial Bar, Acne-Prone Skin Formula, (Neutrogena Transparent Facial Bars, Acne-Prone Skin Formula, 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 2)) and I continued using the Olay Cleansing System. However, I substituted the Simple Wash for the Olay Cleanser. Ounce per ounce, the Simple Wash is half the price of the Olay Cleanser. Therefore, it is definitely more economical. Also, the Simple Wash can be easily ordered through Amazon if not readily available in department stores. A product that is highly popular in England, the Simple Wash has just recently been introduced into the United States.

I have posted some photographs of the Simple Wash on this web site. It arrived in a five-ounce tube without a box or any paperwork. Instructions and all ingredients are printed on the back of the tube, which, for safety reasons, had a cap that was sealed with plastic. The ingredients are too many to list here; however, many of them are also used in the Olay Cleanser. This led me to believe that the Simple Wash also exfoliates the skin.

I have faithfully used the Simple Wash for ONE MONTH. I normally use it to wash my face at least twice a day, in the morning while preparing to go to work and at night before retiring to bed. I also use it before attending a social event. I have not experienced any allergic reactions such as rashes, blisters, hives, etc. Basically, the Simple Wash is fragrance free. It does not have an overwhelming flowery fragrance that some people might find offensive. However, if I raise a small dab of it to my right nostril, I do smell a slight odor. My Olay Cleanser smells similar and it is also advertised as fragrance free.

A little does go a long way. I only use a small pearl-drop of the Simple Wash on my hands before rubbing it on my face. The amount of lather produced will depend upon the amount of Simple Wash used. (The five-ounce tube should last me at least two to three months.) For the first two weeks, my skin was slightly dry and taut. I had to rub into my face a small amount of Suave Body Lotion, Vitamin E, (Suave Body Lotion, Vitamin E, 32-Ounce (Pack of 2)) in order to give it some moisture. However, eventually my skin must have grown accustomed to the Simple Wash and became noticeably smoother, softer and refreshed. Despite this winter's strange up-and-down temperatures in Chesapeake, VA, my complexion, thanks to the Simple Wash, is looking quite good. I don't have any red, dry patches around the corners of my nose or mouth.

If you are a man or woman who is searching for an economical facial cleanser that performs well at exfoliating skin, then I highly recommend you try the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash. It is less than half the price of the Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser and works just as well, if not better. I am not criticizing Olay products in any way. I've used the Olay Body Moisturizing Bath Soap (Olay body moisturizing bar soap for sensitive and hypo allergenic skin 4.25 oz, 6 ea) nearly all of my life and will continue to do so. However, as I wrote earlier, it is sometimes good to vary one's beauty regiment because, like a workout regiment, it can grow stale. Your skin, muscles, etc., will not respond as well with the same daily routine used year after year.

i bought this product after having success with other simple products. i have normal but very sensitive skin but i am not acne prone, but when a product is too harsh my face will develop a very irritated itchy rash. usally because of this i approch skincare items with caution but because simple clams to be "the simple skin experts" i used this all over my face.

first i noticed a bit of a rash around my eyes thinking it was my makeup i rewashed my face, within a few hours my entire face was was stingy and itchy by the morning one of my eyelids was swollen and my entire face was covered in white bumps

this also broke my sister out who has dry less sensitive skin

i hope this was a help full review I have tried many other simple products and this was the only one who had this horrible effect on my skin :)

Arbonne FC5 Complexion Revitalizing Set

Arbonne FC5 Complexion Revitalizing SetI have been looking for a line that doesn't over dry, that moisturizers without making my skin oily, and gentle.

This line is fabulous. The kit lasts me 6months! My skin has never been better. Delivery is fast, product is wonderful, and I especially love the light fragrance.

I tried this product because a friend of mine suggested it. I was BLOWN away! The pores in my face are clear, the price for three large products is totally reasonable. And, no animal testing, made in USA. It doesn't get any better. Highly reccommend.

I have been using this product for almost a month and it works well. At first I started to breakout but now my face is adjusting well. I used the basic line and thought to try and use cheaper products from the local retail stores but it just wasn't working for my face. I had dry spots in specific areas like my cheeks. Now the dry spots are going away and my acne has calmed and is now clear. This product leaves my face super soft.

I love this set. I have very sensitive skin. I use to use the RE 9 set, and loved it but the FC 5 set is a little cheaper and i noticed my face feels really clean and refreshed. I found a trick to share. If you have combination skin as I do. Sometimes specially this time of year and in fall, I am much more dryer than usual, after I wash I take the lotion or night cream and make circular patterns on my face, it really makes a difference! Enjoy

Dr. Bronner's Organic Pure Castile Liquid Soap Citrus Orange -- 8 fl oz

Dr. Bronner's Organic Pure Castile Liquid Soap Citrus Orange -- 8 fl ozNot only is the scent amazing, this product actually works! I've used it to scrub my body and my tub. In both instances it went above and beyond. I still haven't figured out how to use it as shampoo (I can't get it to lather enough in my shoulder length hair) but my husband can use it on his Air Force buzz cut hair perfectly fine. This bottle will last for a long time, since only a few drops are needed for each use. We will be trying out the Peppermint soon and the Baby Mild once our child arrives. Dr. Bronner has definitely hooked me as a repeat customer!

Vicco Turmeric Vanishing Cream (With Sandalwood Oil) 2.12oz

Vicco Turmeric Vanishing Cream 2.12ozI love this stuff. I never stick to products that dont work. I cant tell you how many half used items I've just tossed. This is cheap I figure what the h I'll try it. It got rid of some redness from acne scars at first then it kept treating my combo skin. I do a little in the morning and at night. The sandlewood scent is a plus! I do a dab and leave it to dry on a zit and its gone almost overnight. NEVER has something worked this well on my skin. hate that the price keeps increasing cause of dr. oz other than that no complaints. BUY IT!

I used this during the summer to help get rid of discoloration. It is working slowly, I like the earthy scent. I may purchase again.

GM Collin Puracne Oxygen Gel 1.7 oz.

GM Collin Puracne Oxygen Gel 1.7 oz.I was introduced to this product while getting a facial about 2-3 months ago. I had broken out with a bunch of whiteheads along my jawline and hairline. I had such a bad breakout and the extraction was soooo painful that even my esthetician suggested I return for another facial to complete the extraction. Since I couldn't bear the pain any longer, I agreed to return the following week. She slathered the Oxygen Gel onto my face and suggested I buy a bottle. She also recommended the concentrated acne serum (same brand/line) but I did not want to spend that much so I just got the oxygen gel. I religiously applied the gel 2x a day (3-5 pumps each time)... By the next week, when I returned to complete the extraction, my face had cleared some. As the weeks went by, my face cleared completely. I fell in love with this product and searched online for a cheaper price. Even though I only saved about $5 by buying through Amazon, I think this product is worth the price. I haven't broken out like that again since I began using this product.

After Neutrogena discontinued their salycylic pore clearing gel product the version they now sell contains medication, which I don't need, I just need a gel with salycylic acid that will clear dead skin and pores without drying I went looking for a substitute and thought I would give this product a try. It is great. It's much less harsh on my skin than the Neutrogena product was, feels cool and pleasant and non-sticky. This gets the job done on my face just fine I use it a couple times a week and it helps clear the pores and rejuvenate my skin.

However, I inadvertently discovered another use for it. I have had a bout of recurring patches of dry, itchy skin on and around my ears for some time that did not respond to moisturizers. My doctor said there was no infection or other condition needing medication and said it "just looked dry." The itching was driving me nuts some days, and moisturizers, oils, Vaseline etc. had no effect on the itching. My doctor suggested that dandruff shampoo might work and it did, but the effect tended to wear off before the day was finished so my skin would start to itch and flake again. In desperation I noticed that this gel also had salicylic acid like my dandruff shampoo so I tried using a small dab on the affected area and it worked like a charm. The itching went away immediately, the gel had a cooling effect, and over the course of a few weeks of using the dandruff shampoo and this gel in between, the problem has really diminished. I don't know if it will work for all people and would suggest you talk to your doctor if you have a similar condition, but I'm so thrilled to find something that works in between the daily shampoos, I'm about to buy a few more bottles of this awesome product.

Bliss Steep Clean 15-Minute Facial Mask

Bliss Steep Clean 15-Minute Facial MaskI've used this product 3 times so far, as it does say it is a weekly mask. First off, it says to rub it in your hands until it turns green well I rubbed and rubbed and it didn't turn green, not even light green but white. So right off the bad I didn't know if I was "activating the enzymes" as the bottle says. So I applied the product which is easy enough. I didn't see any major difference, but the next day my face was red, itchy and flaking. It might be my skin getting used to it, but even after the redness and flaking have passed my skin looks no better than before I used it.

Would I recommend this product, NO. But other Bliss products have been better to me.

I have used this product now once or twice a week for the past 2 months and it sucks! There are 2 tubes (one with blue stuff and one with a yellow cream) and they're suposed to combine together to perform some magical cleaning on your pores. The yellow will not come out and even when I figured out how to plug the blue so that only yellow comes out it does nothing for my skin! If anything I think it actually clogged my poers. $50 well spent. Boo!

Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser + Scrub, 5-Ounce (Pack of 2)

Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser + Scrub, 5-OunceI grabbed this product from one of my local Club Warehouses and I wasn't sure what to expect. I've been looking for a cleanser, something that would be gentle on my skin, but also clean the gunk that builds up from working outdoors.

Most products leave me with a rash or my skin doesn't feel clean after use. I do have sensitive oily skin and I'm prone to breakouts and even products designed for skin like mine leave me with rashes.

All that said, this cleanser + scrub combo is amazing. (Plus it smells like granny smith apples!) My skin not only feels clean, but it looks clean afterward. It does give me a slight 'pulling' sensation to my skin, I would think that this would be the minimizing of my pores. I haven't had any trouble with it and my face has yet to break into a rash.

This product is definitely a keeper.

Edit: December 8

After using this product for a month, I haven't seen any significant progress in minimizing my pores.

Edit: January 12, 2012

Two months of using this product and I finally have significant pore minimizing results! The pores on my cheeks have shrunk, as have the pores on my nose (no change with my chin and forehead). The change took a while, but I can definitely see the results.

My wife uses this product and the price had here on Amazon is great using Subscribe and Save. She enjoys this product as it is gentle on her skin yet cleans very well. She follows up using regular classic Olay and I can attest her skin as baby smooth and soft. Give it a try and I think you'll be as pleased with it as much as she is.

Then I found Olay pore minimizing scrub love it. My skin feels very fresh and clean after using this product.

L'Oreal Excellence Creme Haircolor, Light Natural Blonde 9

L'Oreal Excellence Creme Haircolor, Light Natural Blonde 9My roots are still dead white despite having left this product on for the time specified for gray hair. I used the light blonde, my hair is (dyed) light blond with a few dark lowlights. My blond is blonder, the lowlights are a bit lighter (not bad) but as for the roots, I might as well have put cold cream in it for 45 minutes for all the change it made. Going back to Feria; still a L'Oreal product but for some reason Feria works where this one didn't.

SkinMedica SkinMedica Sensitive Skin Cleanser - disc.

SkinMedica SkinMedica Sensitive Skin Cleanser - disc. This product is too expensive and no different than a drug store product. I have found a replacement that is half the cost and works much better. The replacement is Correctives Skin Care and there is a noticable improvement in my skin.

This is a gentle cleanser for sensitive and/or post procedure skin, and like many others does not cleanse very well. Also, too much comes out of the bottle at once (difficult to control) and you can end up wasting some. I much prefer the Obagi cleansers (NuDerm is what I use). Small amount goes a long way and really cleanses/removes makeup. Also fine for sensitive and/or post procedure skin. I am a huge SkinMedica fan but this product falls short.

Dr Bronner's Tea Tree Castile Soap - 1 Pack

Dr. Bronner - Castile SoapI didn't see many reviews talking at length about using this as a shampoo, so I thought I would add one. Expect my personal experiences and opinion, identified as such, mixed in.

I use this soap for shampoo, body wash, face wash, I put it in my bath, I've used it to clean my counters, I've used it to clean dishes. The peppermint is my favorite, especially for soaking in the bath because it tingles and it's the best scented in my opinion, also for shampoo, again because it tingles.

To clean, I put a little on a damp terry cleaning cloth or kitchen towel and just wipe. I use it on kitchen and bathroom counters, and I dissolve it in water to mop with. I prefer to use the tea tree for cleaning.

As a shampoo, I am puzzled by all the claims I had heard online about castile soap/saponified oil being drying to the hair, and I suspect that many of the people making those claims either haven't tried it and are just perpetuating the general misconception, or maybe they are using it wrong (I'll explain why I think that). This is an extremely gentle product. I have CURLY hair, and it is dyed(with one of those clairol nice n easy super harsh store bought dyes)(#124 natural blue black, if you want to know). Curly hair is generally more dry, and harder to keep conditioned, than straight hair, and mine is no exception. My hair is super fine and super dry, and prone to breakage. I find using this soap as shampoo is actually much LESS drying to my hair than other types of shampoo.

If you are going to use this as a shampoo, you have to keep a couple of things in mind;

-1. Use less than you think you need. Less than what you would use if you were using a normal shampoo. You are not going to get as rich of a lather with this soap. That doesn't mean it doesn't clean as well, and it doesn't mean you didn't use enough soap. A little known fact is that the ingredients that clean your hair in normal shampoos don't lather either. Shampoo manufacturers ADD lathering agents purely for consumer impression. You get the impression as you are washing your hair that you are getting your hair really super clean because you are getting a nice thick rich lather, but in reality, the lather is not what is doing the cleaning, and to a small degree, lathering agents actually prevent detergent agents from working as well as they otherwise would. That's why, in industrial cleaning supplies(not the ones you can find in walmart) they typically don't add lathering agents. Normal shampoos have harsher detergent agents than this soap because of that effect, and because of the types of ingredients in normal conditioners(read on).

-2. Lather, rinse, THEN REPEAT. Shampoo twice, even if you are unaccustomed to doing that with normal shampoos.

-3. RINSE REALLY REALLY WELL. After you have rinsed your hair and the soap is all out of it; rinse it all over again.

-4. Don't use a 'normal' conditioner, pick one without any heavy 'cones' in it. Most conditioners have ingredients whose last four letters end in c-o-n-e (like silicone, amodimethicone, cyclomethicone, etc.). Not all, but many, of these ingredients coat your hair and supposedly make it seem incredibly silky and shiny and beautiful and glorious and on and on (and cone leave-ins really give you this effect), but what they also do is keep the natural oils, from your scalp, and any other moisturizing products you may use, from actually getting into your hair, so you get on this cycle of stripping your hair with a normal shampoo, then coating your hair with a normal conditioner, then stripping then coating then stripping, etc., and your hair is getting drier and drier. Not all cones do this. There are lighter ones and ones that are water soluble that are not doing anything bad, and it's up to you to use cones or not, but...IF YOU ARE USING THIS SOAP FOR SHAMPOO...then I would recommend staying away from it altogether. The harsh detergents in normal shampoos can handle stripping the normal conditioners from your hair with one washing, but this shampoo is much gentler and probably won't. This is what I think people are doing wrong when they think this hair is drying their hair out. I don't know, maybe they are worried it might, so they get what they think is going to be a really good conditioner, but it's a 'normal' conditioner, and as a result they aren't giving this soap an honest chance. They think it's this shampoo, but it's really their conditioner, that is causing their hair to be dry. There are a ton of really good conditioners that don't have cones in them. Dr. Bronner's makes a conditioner, but it's pricey. The thing that makes this soap a great product is partly that it is almost immortal. (My last 16 ounce bottle of the peppermint lasted me 8 years. Admittedly, that was before I tried it as a shampoo, but that would've maybe shaved a couple years, at most, off of the 8.) The Dr. Bronner's conditioner will not last as long, and there are better ones that are cheaper. If you google 'Paula's Choice', you can find a website of the same name that has an outstanding ingredient list, so you can see what the good ingredients are, and there are tons of websites listing cone free conditioners. (Personally, I don't use a conditioner, I wash my hair and then when I am out of the shower I massage a nickel sized amount of light extra virgin olive oil into my hair. Yes, I actually do that. It doesn't make my hair oily, it just soaks right in. I've been doing that for a very long time, even when I was still using normal shampoo, and It has never made my hair feel oily. On days when I don't shampoo which is about 6 days out of 7, I just rinse my hair in the shower and if my hair seems dry when I get out, I will add a tiny amount more. This doesn't weigh my hair down either, like I said, my hair is curly and it still pops up in spontaneous ringlets) (I get my olive oil in a gigantic bottle from walmart that costs me all of around $1.62.)

-5. You don't need to wash your hair every day. That's not really about this particular shampoo, just in general. If you don't believe me, ask your stylist. Just, when you take a shower, rinse it and condition it, if you choose to use a conditioner. As I stated above, I really only wash mine once a week. Trust me; nobody will be able to tell.

A little note about the different scents I've tried; Peppermint smells heavenly but has a noticeable tingle, that's good if you like and want it, bad if you don't. Lavender is my second favorite, it's a strong lavender scent. I mean it, this is not lavender for the weak of heart, this is not 'glade plug ins lavender fairy-farts', this is not a freaking fabric softener with a baby teddy bear on the label, this is hardcore hippie tree hugger lavender (love for the hippie tree huggers). If you've never smelled lavender the actual herb, and you've only ever smelled lavender scented products (even the organic ones, because, of the ones I've tried, the organic products that are lavender scented are still not as strong as this one), then you might possibly want to buy the 4 ounce size first to try. I like the little 4 ounce bottle anyway because I can refill it from the big bottles and use it on trips, so then you'll have the bottle. Tea Tree is strong too, if you like tea tree (I do, I liked this one) you'll really love it, if you don't like tea tree you'll REALLY hate it it, if you aren't sure if you like it, then you should definitely buy the tiny bottle first and try it, you don't want to be stuck with a product that lasts as long as this one does if you don't like it. Tea Tree also seems to me to have a very light tingle to it. Lastly, Rose. ROSE. UGH. I read online and thought people who didn't like this scent didn't know what they were talking about about this scent being so bad, and I bought it anyway because I trust this company and I was a moron to do it. Really, honestly, trust me, it smells nothing like a rose, or even remotely floral, it smells like what I imagine rancid gummy bears might smell like if it were possible for gummy bears to rot, and it is so sickeningly strong and so sweet smelling that when you smell it it makes your teeth hurt. I use mine to clean my bathroom and pray longingly for the day when I'll run out of it.

Been loving the Bronner's for some decades now. The peppermint has only recently been toned down; now I can put it on my nether regions and not tingle to the edge of wincing. If it's too strong, just dilute it in the bottle; it'll still do what it does best: clean!

Yes folks, NOTHING will clean and refresh your skin like Bronner's. Strips off all the dirt but leaves your natural oils. Pure castille soap with zero additives except for the essential oils. Makes you realize how much of a film the artificial soaps leave; dove and ivory are a joke next to Bronner's.

It also is THE soap for hard water areas; this stuff lathers when nothing else will.

A gallon is an amazing deal, lasts forever and is about half the cost of buying the small bottles (Vitamin Shoppe has some excellent deals on many items of many sorts; check their site out). Bronner's is also great for washing hair, cleaning counters, dishes, etc, and even brushing your teeth. Sometimes when I camp it's the only thing I take for all of the above; Dr. B's does it all.

The only problem is it's no good for telling your kids you'll wash their mouths out with soap; it kind of tastes good!

I also love the almond soap, maybe even more than this one. Lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, etc; all are good in their own way. Try 'em all and find your favorite. You'll never use another soap again.

Bonuses include the most entertaining writing on any product label ever; old Dr. B was quite a philosopher and humanist, and his thoughts are special , and written in a unique style indeed.

As well, his family gives away most of their profits to various charities, and his son, who now runs the company, is a wonderfully friendly man who will talk to you and tell you some great stories if you call the company.

This is capitalism, and soap, at its finest.

Long live the Bronners!

Dr. Bronner's is really fantastic stuff! I keep find more and more uses for it around the house. We've gotten to the point that we have replaced all of our toxic synthetic chemical products with this! The only thing I find it terrible for is washing windows, it leaves a film and you spend more time removing the film than the dirt! Otherwise, this stuff can easily replace 6-10 products around the home.

Be warned of this Peppermint, even though the peppermint is natural, it is extremely strong smelling. So strong, it can cause irritation for some people. I tried to use it on my floors, while it cleaned incredibly well, it nearly ran us out of the house the smell was so strong. This is even with me diluting it to a massive degree. I would recommend Peppermint for hand soap, dishes, laundry, anything outdoors. But would use something like Unscented, Lavender or Almond for general house cleaning, body soap and shampoo.

We also found this product is fantastic for cleaning our italian leather furniture! Normally we have to buy expensive solutions to effectively clean it while not damaging the leather. This stuff works perfect on it. If you use this in the bathroom for hand soap you don't need any air fresheners after you have a bowel movement. The peppermint quickly overtakes any other odors. We now use Bronner's for cleaning our jet tubs. Before they were very difficult to clean because you cannot use abrasive chemicals, but Dr. Bronner's practically melts the grim and dirt right off them!

Finally, I have dry skin. Up to this point I have been using Ivory Soap and it is horrible on my skin. A couple days of using Bronners and my skin is back to being normal! I love how this product rinses off so easily and leaves no films.

Best soap ever. I use it in the kitchen for hands and quick cutting board wash-ups. Here's my trick for saving water. Buy any kind of foaming soap in a pump dispenser. They're the ones designed to work with thin, watery soaps. Throw out the soap and rinse well. Refill with diluted Dr Bronner's 1:8, soap to water. Using the foamy dispenser keeps it from sliding off your hand before you can get to it.

Pump foamy soap on dry hands, lather, scrub, then turn on water to rinse, it only takes a few seconds to rinse away.

It's good for me, my senses, my pocketbook, and the planet. A quart will last forever.

Spread the word about the foaming pump dispenser!

Reading the label on this soap is quite an entertaining exercise, but the soap is one of the best. This is pure Castile (olive oil liquid) soap, and the peppermint scent is refreshing. Showering on a hot summer day with this soap is incredible. It's a must on camping trips--it is relatively easy for the environment to break down as it's natural and has no detergent. You can even use it to clean pots and pans while camping, and we do that.

Wet Ones Singles Antibacterial Cleansing Wipes, Fresh Scent, 144 Count

Wet Ones Singles Antibacterial Cleansing Wipes, Fresh Scent, 144 CountWish the local drug stores carried the individually wrapped Wet Ones.

They only carry the ones that come in the large tub, which is very inconvenient for traveling.

I like the individually wrapped ones, as they are very easy to put a couple in your pocket and always have with you.

Especially in the age of the swine flu, which is transmitted mostly by hands.

A quick clean of the hands before eating out, and I know I doing the best I can.

This package is terrific value. Use by date was mid 2013, 5 stars there. My wife keeps the 144 unit package in her vehicle, last delivery lasted 6 months in her car, heat and all, with no deterioration in product quality at all. That was over summer.

If you like these wipes, this a a great way to buy them, and good value. I use them when traveling,on planes/in airports before eating. Wife interacts with a lot of people during the day, uses them to clean her hands.

You could purchase the trial packets from supermarkets, like Publix, before purchasing these. Only problem is that the 15 size packets may dry out on you, these are single use and last a long time.

Like these just fine. They are 5" x 7-1/2" each. Best for de-germ-'n because they kinda sting the butt. Yeah, I counted all of them & sure enough, there is 144 of them! Prices are volatile at the moment.

When camping or on extended fishing trips, sometimes showers can be hard to find. Carrying and using a few of these towellets each night is both sanitary and convenient. They are light weight and easily stored.

Dial White Tea & Vitamin E Antibacterial Hand Soap 40Oz Bag Refill with 7.5 Oz Pump

Dial White Tea & Vitamin E Antibacterial Hand Soap 40Oz Bag Refill with 7.5 Oz PumpMy family and I loved this product. Who knew that Dial had such a nice smelling liquid soap? We are used to the standard "gold colored" Dial. I highly recommend this product.

As an antibacterial hand soap, it is one of the best. The Vitamin E in it makes it very easy on the hands and does not dry out your skin. And there is another plus: It is very easy to refill dispenser because of the nozzle on the bag. You can get every drop out of the bag when it is nearly empty by simply squeezing the bag as you fill the dispenser. The bag is also recyclable.

So,in summary: 1. Great smelling 2. Moisturizes your skin 3. Recyclable packaging that allows you to get the last drop of soap out of it.

Forces of Nature Acne Pimple Control OG2

Forces Of Nature Acne Pimple Control - 11 mlMy teenage son has (had) horrible acne on his forehead, lower face (beard line) and neck. He has been faithfully washing (and moisturizing to not dry out too much) with various combinations of natural face washes, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or combination over the last few years. We even got a prescription filled for retin-A but I was hesitant to start him on it. At our local health food store I saw this product and he has only been using it for 10 days or so but the results are amazing. His acne is truly clearing. He has the big red/pink acne and it is all fading. I went back and cleared out the shelf because unfortunately the bottle is small. It is expensive, but worth every penny. I have never written a review but wanted to for this product in case there are others out there with bad acne that have tried just about everything else. Another reason I was initially sold on it was that it has a one year guarantee--which I am glad I will not have to deal with. Not sure how it works on blackhead type of acne, but will find out soon as I bought a bottle for my younger son to use.

Quick backgroundI have combination-oily skin, suffering from acne and eventually cystic acne for over five years now. In addition to this, I have icepick and boxcar scars over most of my face, so even if my actual "blemishes" clear, my skin still won't look good. Or so I thought.

I tried this product without any real hopesit was my last ditch effort before I turned back to a dermatologist. Now I've tried everything short of Accutane and laserboth of which I will never try because I refuse to damage my body like that.

I applied this product three times a day, just as was directed. It has a very strong herbal/lavender scent (I didn't mind it) and immediately left my skin feeling refreshed. After about a week, I noticed my skin was incredibly soft, and NOT just right after I applied moisturizer but at any time of the day. After a few weeks, the acne was not just going awaymy whole complexion was getting better. This is the first product I have ever tried that does not just clear the actual pimples; instead it aims to heal the entire skin. It's subtle at first, and can you leave you frustrated as this is not the type of product that will clear one or two spots overnight, but instead leave you waking up three weeks later to a completely different face. The scars on my face have lessened, the acne has reduced, the redness is gone, and the parts of my skin without blemishes are just glowing. It is seriously a wonder product.

As a disclaimer, DO NOT BUY this product from the reseller "OTC Masters"they have quite possibly the worst customer service on the planetbetween an exorbitant amount for shipping, shipping it to me late, sending me the wrong product, not returning customer service calls for at least four days, responding to emails with the courtesy and grammar of a three year old, taking absolutely no steps to rectify my problem, reshipping it to me (after three weeks of haggling) in a broken container which spilled all over my mail, and to this day, no product (six weeks later), I can say I am pretty sure I don't recommend them. At all. Ever. Even as a last resort and your face was breaking out horribly and terribly and was beginning to resemble a monster, I would still not buy from them. I've actually spoken to the manufacturer of the product and they are looking into no longer selling with them.

BUT! The product is AMAZING. All natural, no side effects, reasonably priced, and it works. Only a very small conit runs out quickly. Three drops each application (nine drops a day) in a small 11ml runs out quickly, and shipping of this product tends to come with a rather long processing period, so plan accordingly and DON'T wait until the last minute like I did. Now I'm excited to have all my acne clear up in a few months and use their Scar Treatment.

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel with Marula Oil Rinse-Off Facial Cleansing Gels

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel, 3.9-OunceI asked the rep at the Clarins counter for a cleanser that wouldn't dry my skin out, and she suggested Pure Melt Cleansing Gel. I was skeptical when I first tried this product because my skin felt silky afterwards instead of tight and "squeaky" clean like other cleansers. I was sure it was going to cause break outs over time. I have been using this product for over 3 months now. Not only are there no breakouts, but my skin seems to be calming down and my dry patches have disappeared. This is my go-to cleanser from now on. I won't use anything else!!!

I don't regret purchasing this at all. It's the first oil-type cleanser I've tried and I like that it's still moisturizing. Its heavily scented once you rinse with water and does sting a little around the eyes but it does work. I still found that I needed to swipe under my eyes again with a cotton pad after but it did get off a majority of my makeup.

I first tried this in the department store as part of a free facial and was given a sample to take home. The cleanser not only cleans your skin but moisturizes it at the same time. No alcohols or perfumes to irritate.

This is the best makeup remover that I've come across so far. It doesn't irritate my skin in any way (even my eyes!!!!), doesn't brake me out or anything like that. I had a lot of problems finding the perfect gentle yet effective cleanser, but i guess my search is done:)

Definitely try this product if you have sensitive skin! This is a miracle!

All Aura Cacia Foam bath products are excellent and I highly recommend them for kids too. Our toddler girl suffered from eczema for many months and after we started adding this foam bath together with Aveeno creme it dissapeared. Kids love the foam, we like the relaxing scent. Mother Nature has great price on it and superfast shipping!

If you enjoy taking a bath in the morning or early afternoon, this product will work well to refresh and awaken you for your day or evening. The Tangerine/Grapefruit scent is subtle and you may want to add in a few orange slices for effect. This product foams very slightly and the bubbles are not like a bubble bath and disappear fairly quickly.

Main Ingredients: Baking Soda, Sea Salt, Sweet Orange Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Jojoba Oil.

The skin-softening properties of this product are immediately apparent. This product can be used for children or adults. Not recommended for whirlpool tubs, because of the foaming nature of the powder.

Facial Cleansing Cream + AHA ( For Dry Skin ) - Natura Bisse - Cleanser - 200ml/7oz

Facial Cleansing Cream + AHA - Natura Bisse - Cleanser - 200ml/7oz"VELVET EXTRAVAGANCE IN A CREAM" My mature skin is dry, so dry that during upstate new york winters, if i don't take proper care, my cheeks, chin, and brow quite literally chaffen into a burning, scaley, reddened mess. great skin care is not an option, it's a way of life for me. and i begin with the best cleanser i know of. Natura Bisse's dry skin cleansing cream with AHA beats others (i've used) hands down. why? it doesn't simply clean; although, it does that so well that when i use toner, no skin "dirt" nor "grime" is left on the cotton pad. the GENTLE exfoliating properties of this cleanser lift off dead surface skin, leaving my face velvety but not "mushy", smooth but not tight, and utterly conditioned. when i first applied the thick cleansing cream, it was so rich i thought there would be an oily residue, but as warm water allows the cream to gently foam, that "oil-like" feel dissolves--much as a shaving gel breaks down when spread on the legs and thickens up for a smooth shave to be rinsed off. gee, i can't say enough good about this item. to compare natura bisse's cleanser to other designer skin care companies' cleansers for dry skin is to compare the soft factor between great cashmere and sackcloth. i've used many before being introduced to natura bisse, and the one brand that even came close was the first (original) version of Jo Malone's avacado cleansing milk. that was not as thick as natura bisse's cleansing cream, but the feel after cleansing was. their present cleansing milk is "good," as is that of Erno Laszlo, La Mer, and a little known brand "Camo Care"; Natura Bisse's is a true cream, whereas others i've tried are more similar in feel to lotions. there, i suppose, lies the difference in what i would call the quality of the product. i don't want any to think that perhaps i think that "thicker is better"; in this case, because of the extra conditioning properties of natura bisse over others i've used, i have to claim that it truly is a superior product. is it worth the price? only the consumer can answer that for herself. problem skin usually demands greater care. if i could find a product line that worked as great as natura bisse and costs less, i'd switch--in a new york minute. i will not be a slave to brand name products; i hope to be able to continue purchasing this line of skin care products. but it does take sacrifice.

I am using my second bottle of this cleansing cream and I am very pleased with the way my skin is looking! There is no redness and there is a soft healthy glow. My pores are smaller and I have not had any breakouts since using this product. My face feels more moisturized. I also like the fragrance and consistency of this creamy wash. I would heartily recommend this wash! It is the bomb!
