I do not notice any problem with my face producing extra oil.
The only negative thing I can say is that the first few times of use your face will seem extra dry.

i love how this cleanser smells and how it feels. it doesn't have a strong lather because there's no sodium laurel sulfates but it still provides a deep cleaning. i figured the tea tree oil would provide good antibacterial properties to clear up some mild-moderate acne. no such luck. my skin is fairly sensitive, moderately oily (esp. in the t zone). i figured fewer synthetic ingredients would be helpful. my experience of using this cleanser (after using a Dove beauty bar) actually intensified the acne. my guess would be that this cleanser works too well at removing the natural oil on the skin. so the skin produces extra oil to compensate for too much being removed. the result is more pimples than i had before.since i love the smell of this cleanser and the way it leaves my skin feeling, i plan on keeping it and trying it out as a body wash. i really wish it didn't overdo the drying out process since i think that is what caused the increase in acne. your experience with this cleanser may be different, and if you don't have acne it may be a perfect choice for you (especially if you prefer to use socially/environmentally conscious products when possible). i'm writing this for anyone else who has sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. for those people, this cleanser may just intensify the skin issues.
