Yesterday my husband said to me, "Honey, tonight you're goin' to get "AXE'd"!" And I chuckled and replied--because I knew exactly what he meant by that promise, "Well, that's cool!"
In all seriousness though, he had already cracked the lids on the AXE Chilled face wash, the Chilled shave gel, and the Chilled hydrating/post-shave gel and was looking forward to an exhilarating experience. I was too: This "Chilled" fragrance does not come across like a good many of the AXE fragrances. The "Chilled" is a major step away from the sweet and cloying smell of other AXE products we had sampled in the past. The fragrances each of us wear are important to both of us: If either of us don't like a fragrance, it doesn't get worn. We both agree: "Chilled" is a keeper.
Regarding the face wash in particular: My husband is not used to using a face wash: Whatever bath gel is there on the shower shelf, that is what he would put on his face. So, now, in getting this face gel for him, I've started something: He says it feels so good and was so refreshing and his skin feels so nice that he wants to keep using it. "Can I use it every day?" he asks me. "Well, sure you can! Twice a day! As often as you wash your face, you crazy guy! Use this one up and I'll get you another one!"
Regarding the shave gel: It works well to lift the hairs for a close shave. The cooling sensation is not quite minty, but more like the feel from using menthol.
Regarding the hydrating/post-shave gel: After my husband finally got himself out of the bathroom, he walked over and insisted I feel the smoothness of his cheek. Yes, it was nice and smooth. I think that's enough said, don't you?
It's a nice trio of men's products. The fragrance is surprisingly sophisticated for the price. No more, hurry, quick, in-and-out of the shower for my man. I think--no, I know--that he found that using these three products give him satisfaction.
I don't think there is any going back to the old, cheap stuff...
