I have two tattoos on my body. The first was put on my right upper arm. I didn't know of the tattoo goo brand name then, so I used Liquiderm and the non-fragrance Vaseline from a squirt bottle. After it was healed I used regular sunscreen lotion to go out in the sun. The second tattoo was a full right arm sleeve, which encompassed the first tattoo. I was at a new parlor with a new artist, who told me to use the tattoo goo aftercare products.
I remember my first tattoo(all black) faded farely quick, even being inside more than outside in the sun. This time I had a full sleeve with loads of bright colors. I used the tattoo goo salve, which made my tattoo heal with no scarring(make sure you still don't peel skin/scabs). The healing process went quickly and my skin retained most of the ink(you don't retain all of the ink that is put to you skin, in fact, no one does). I use the spf30 sunscreen stick every time I go out into the sun, whether it be working, or just walking around for most of the day, and my tattoo is still very colorful. I recommend any who gets a tattoo, small or large, to use these products for healing/preservation.I love this kit from Tattoo Goo. It's awesome. Has everything you need for good tattoo aftercare. The paste in the can feels great on a fresh tat; it really helps keep your new tat moist & not peeling & unbearably itchy. Much, MUCH better feeling to rub on a brand spanking new tat than A&D or some of the other greasy, heavy, pore-clogging ointments I've come across out there. I've used it on my original tat & the touch-up about a year later; my hubby has used it on all 5 of his tats, & their color is still very vivid. The lotion is very moisturizing but not greasy, very light & smells great. We slather on the sunscreen before every outing in the summer. Very inclusive aftercare kit & a good value also. This is a great combo starter kit for a new tattoo, or old ones. The 'lotion' it comes with is not greasy and does not have a strong smell and also absorbs quickly. The 'wax' is small and easy to store, it keeps your tattoo moist for a long period of time, and does not have a strong smell. The 'cleanser' also does not have a strong smell, and does not dry out your skin. I have not used my 'SPF stick' considering it is winter, but it will come in handy as soon as summer hits, but it also does not have a strong odor. All comes nicely packed in a clear zippered traveling case, so you have it where ever you go! This is my first time buying 'tattoo goo' and i love it. I will keep buying it to moisturize my tattoo and to keep it glowing for years to come!!I have five tattoos and have used tattoo goo for all of them and they are still looking great. I have sensitive skin and this product didn't irritate my skin at all. The salve is perfect for a little touch up to really make my ink pop. I carry it with me where ever I go. If you follow the directions you won't be disappointed. My oldest tattoo is six years old and still looks like the day I got it done. I'm sure everyone's skin is different but this has worked really well for me.Love this stuff and it works great, I will not use anything else for the healing of my ink. Awesome!!
