Boots Botanics Organic Face Super Balm

Boots Botanics Organic Face Super BalmI'm in my 20's but my face is dry and after spending a lot of days and numerous hrs. researching trying to find a good moisturizing cream that wasn't too expensive and didn't have lots of ingredients that could cause a sting (I have very sensitive skin) I found this.

I had already bought a day lotion from this brand days before and I liked it so I decided to give this a try. Got home, washed my face opened the jar and noticed a very slight scent, I liked it, not too strong just subtle and I was just hoping it wouldn't sting after applying it. The consistency is waxy and definitely a little bit goes a long way. I grabbed a bit with my index finger and warmed it up by rubbing my fingers. I decided to apply it on all my face including my lips. My face was very shinny but hey, it was night time. I woke up the next day and my face looked supple and was soft my lips were very soft as well. I splashed some water over my face and then apply the day lotion. By the thirdt time I had applied this routine I noticed a great improvement in my skin.

After my skin got better I changed up my routine. I would wash my face apply the day lotion and then this balm to "seal" all the good stuff in.

That tiny jar I bought it almost a year ago and there is still some left, and remember I used it for my entire face and for my lips during winter time. If you're planning on using it on just certain spots then it will last a lot longer.

I LOVE this face balm. My cheeks get very dry during the winter. I apply a small dab on each side of my face when my cheeks start feeling dry. I do not think this is meant to be an all-over moisturizer, but should be used as needed on dry parts of the face.

It does not have a strong scent. I am sensitive to perfumes, but the smell of the face balm is so mild, it doesn't bother me at all. It's not perfumey, and smells how I would expect something called a balm to smell.

I like this so much that I gave one to each of my sisters and now they use it too during the winter to help with dry patches on the face.

Was in search for something highly moisturizing to use over some of the dry patches I get on occasion from Retin-A. I'm not a fan of creams/lotions that have a hundred and one ingredients, though single ingredient moisturizers (such as olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, argan oil etc...) has never panned out well for me either. They may work to some extent but on their own they're either too messy for every day use, too difficult to work with at room temperature, or they simply smell unpleasant.

This product drew me in by its few ingredients, all of which I recognized. In listed order, they include: Shea Butter, Sweet Almond oil, Beeswax, Cetyl alcohol, Avocado Oil and Argan Oil.

Boots Face Super Balm comes in a cute but tiny 0.52oz glass jar. In the jar at room temperature, the texture is firm and waxy as one would expect a balm to be but it melts easily into a silky smooth moisturizer between your fingertips. The scent is of a very faint honey, which I suspect comes from the use of Beeswax as one of the top three ingredients. There is no Shea Butter scent, which I'm A-OK with (I always felt Shea Butter smelled a bit like ashtray) but this also suggests that this ingredient has been highly refined.

Although it's a small jar, it'll last you a very long time. A small dab goes a long ways and it is very soothing to use over top Retin-A. I can't see myself using this all over my face as a mask, I think that'd be overkill with my already oily t-zone but in the evening for my cheeks, under eyes, around the mouth area, this is perfect. It hasn't broken me out but then again I don't use it all over my face just where it's needed. On occasion, it's also doubled as a lip balm, a quick fix for dry knees and shins, a moisturizer for my cuticles and product to tame my brows. Lots of uses from one little pot! Love it and highly recommend it.
