I really like the Neutrogena brand as a whole. This particular face scrub has had the most positive effects for me overall. I like the smell and the fact it's pink is an added bonus! You can feel it working deep in your pores when you're massaging it in. I use it once in the morning and once at night. It helps minimize breakouts but it does not eliminate existing acne.

For existing acne or blemishes I do use an oil based producttea tree oil to be specific100% Australian Tea Tree Oil + FREE Tea Tree Oil Soap Bars. A little diluted tt oil and the blemishes clear up in about 2 days for me which is much quicker than anything else. It's very thick so it needs to be used sparingly.

Since the tt is oil and the face scrub can be abrasive and contains salicylic acid, I do use a skin moisturizer to make sure I'm not dry or flaky too. My lotion of choice is aveeno, but any natural based non-scented lotion should do the trick without undoing the work you've done cleaning/clearing your face.

I am 32 years old and have been suffering from VERY oily, acne prone skin since I was a teen. I like Neutrogena products and I like this scrub, but in my experience it's just that.

It will clean oily skin (I require a moisturizer afterward) and it smells great; light and fruity. But had a period of adult acne that presented itself as blackheads and this scrub really didn't do anything to improve the condition. I've used it off and on for 3+ years but in a real skin situation, there are more effective creams out there.

I have adult-onset acne mostly on my cheeks and forehead. This scrub really out-performed other scrubs in terms of keeping the number of flare ups and blemishes to a minimum. My acne is not gone, however, so be realistic--this is not a miracle product. I wash with it twice a day, and I will continue to buy it and use it unless I find something better.

I have been using this for a few years now and I LOVE it! It has the best smell that stays on you even after you've washed your face. Doesn't leave your skin dry at all and a little bit lathers up to go a long way so it lasts at least a couple of months! This really is a great face wash and the salicyclic acid in it acts as an exfoliate, great at getting rid of dead skin cells, and the grapefruit increases the PH of your skin reducing acne flare ups. Great all around product for your face!
