Neutrogena wave shine free blemish free pads refill - 30/pack

I bought the Wave and two different types of pads over a year ago, one was just ok but I loved these (the shine free). They leave your face feeling clean and smooth. Since then I purchased one refill at the local store but when I went to buy some more I can't find them. I recently broke down a paid the $19 price tag on these, like the title says, I love the product but dont like the price. I think originally these were in the $5 price range.

I bought this at CVS (for some reason it was the only place around carrying the Wave Pads) and so wish I didn't waste 9 bucks on this. I really like the Exfoliating Pads, but decided to give these ones a shot--huge mistake.

First, the Exfoliating does a great job of getting rid of dead skin and clearing blemishes because of the micro beads (they may seem small, but they work really well). Meanwhile, these pads are just plain ROUGH. It's like sandpaper or wire wool--ON MY SKIN. Dude, this hurts. And I am scrubbing with the same strength I use for the regular and Exfoliating pads--besides, not matter how lightly I push, it's just really irritating. My skin was pretty red afterwards.

Secondly, these pads stink. I've had problems with Neutrogena face wash smelling bad, which is why I got the pads. The other pads smell fine, but these ones go back to the old school Neutrogena scent--bad.

Thirdly, these pads have very little soap. On the other pads, you can clearly see the big dollop of soap in the middle, but not on these ones. They never foamed up and I had to use 2 before I started seeing some soap on my face.

Needless to say, I'm sticking with the Exfoliating pads (also wrote a review on those if you want to check it out). They get the same job done, but are much less irritating. If your stuck with these for a while, like me, what I suggest is simply putting them on backwards. That way your simply using the regular old pad (by the way, the Original pads are pretty good too). Also, attach the pad, turn the Wave on, then put it under warm/hot water for about 3 seconds. It seems to let the soap out quicker without washing it away.

It starts showing results in less than 24 hrs. However regular use gives amazing results. I also recommended it to my sister and she is now using it for more than week and is absolutely satisfied with the control it gives.

These were great options to include in The Wave skincare "toolbox". These do keep skin both Shine-Free and Blemish-Free very well. They are only recommended on the ORIGINAL Wave though. The pad's 1% Salicylic Acid with the Spinning Sonic Wave action caused complaints due to major irritation. I've called Neutrogena when their website sold out of these at less than seven bucks and was told these were discontinued. As a replacement I've been using cotton rounds on my original Wave with a small dab of Neutrogena Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Scrub, Pink Grapefruit, Super Size, 6.7 Ounce (Pack of 2) with good results and more bucks in my pocket. It has 2% Salicylic Acid the active acne fighting ingredient.
