I usually tend to skip the step between the cleanser and moisturizer, but I feel like this hydrating lotion really made a difference. It sort of has the same consistency as the cleanser, not as thick, and did not need to be washed off. It's described as preparing the skin for further treatment, and it really did make the moisturizers go on and absorb better.
