Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer, 4.2 Ounce

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer, 4.2 OunceI have sensitive combination skin that is more on the oily side and I purchased this because I needed a new day time moisturizer that was not greasy. The moisturizer is not greasy at all, but something in the lotion was making me break out after a week of use. I looked up the ingredients on their website and found that mineral oil is listed as an ingredient, but it wasn't listed on the box when I purchased it. I also think it is the mineral oil that is irritating my skin, as another reviewers have commented on. I also thought the lotion was not very hydrating. My skin still felt tight after applying so I would have to apply more. I guess I will have to keep searching...

This moisturizer is definitely light, and thin. The first ingredient is water but it does have glycerin which normally sinks into my skin nicely. However, I had to use 3 consecutive applications to get a smoother feel to my skin and even now as I write this review I want to reach for my bottle of Jergens Daily Moisture and slather it on my face.

Ever since going through "the change", the skin on my face is dry. Used to be oily but not anymore. Especially in the dry months of winter I have to frequently apply lotion. I was hoping this product would at least last a couple of hours before having to be renewed. I'm sorry to only give it 2 stars but I'm just not all that thrilled with it. And besides that, it sort of burns. I'm wondering if the burning sensation is due to the NaOH that is listed in the ingredients. It does have a nice, light scent which doesn't make me feel ill like a lot of perfumed products do.

I'm not too picky about moisturizers. I want one that's not too heavy and that doesn't cause me to break out. I know that none of them are going to perform a miracle. I just want one that will keep my skin from becoming dry. This fits the bill, and it's not expensive. It's light, so you really don't know that you've put it on. I like that it contains Vitamins B5 and E, although I don't know if that really does anything for your complexion. If you're looking for a light-weight, reasonably priced moisturizer, I'd definitely try this one.

I have sensitive skin that requires me to be very careful about the products I use. My usual summer moisturizer got dropped from the company's product line so I figured I'd give the Simple line a shot since they're all about sensitive skin. I can use this moisturizer for a couple days in a row, then around the 3rd or 4th day the skin over my cheekbones begins to burn upon application. If I keep going, the burning sensation gets worse every day. I have not broken out in a rash as some other reviewers have, but this product definitely irritates my sensitive skin.

I have sensitive yet oily skin, and am always on the lookout for moisturizer that will not irritate but is also not too heavy. My skin is also sensitive to SPFs, and I live in AK, so a daily SPF is not really necessary (especially in the winter). I picked up some Simple light moisturizer a couple of months ago and so far am pretty happy with it. In fact, I'm back to buy another bottle, since I'm almost out.
