Nature's Gate Herbal Daily Conditioner, 1 Gallon

Nature's Gate Herbal Daily Conditioner, 1 GallonNature Gate changed the formula and this in not the original Herbal Conditioner we know and love. This now has caramel coloring, added fragrances' and some other artificial ingredients: Quaternium 87, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60. It is not as nice on your hair. The scent has changed and it is not as pleasant as the original ~ very disappointing. I can't use it because the fake fragrances makes me choke. Too bad, I've been buying the original for 25 years. Nature Gate, please bring back the original formula.

I first used this conditioner on my 4 yr old while we were house sitting at a friend's home. It is so rich and luxurious. Her hair is thick, curly and slightly kinky and all the other conditioners we have tried dry her hair out. Not this one !!! She also swims alot and this product restores her hair back to her natural texture. We are overjoyed to have found this on AMAZON.

I am new to Natures Gate. I see some reviewers say they are disappointed because this is a changed formula. I cannot speak to that, because like I said, I am new to using this. But, I can tell you, I love it compared to other brands that are not natural, and even some that are. I have used Jason products with much regret, even having to throw whole bottles away because they tangled my delicate hair so bad. ( Like throwing money away! )

This stuff amazes me. First I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the smell. Second, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it makes my hair look and feel. I currently began using henna, also, and this just adds to the luster and health of my hair. I believe my shampoo and conditioner search is officially over. :)

I discovered Nature's Gate products about 12 years ago when battling severe eczema on my then-toddler-aged daughter. Like her skin, her hair is dry, thick, and rough in texture; especially back then when she was suffering so greatly from the eczema. We had already sworn off of soaps for her, and were down to shampooing only once or twice (at most!) a week. I had started buying expensive dry hair formula shampoos and conditioners, whereas the other children used plain ol' kid shampoos, and I had my fine/curly/frizzy shampoos. I was sick of buying a different shampoo for everybody! Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo & Conditioner was the miracle solution to both problems! It made my daughter's hair silky and shiny, and was even gentle enough to use on the baby's hair. I hesitantly tried it on my own unruly mop, and was pleasantly surprised that it was able to cut about half the usual frizz with no other products! My oldest child has extra-oily hair, and she was able to use the shampoo alone with occasional conditionings (the opposite of her dry-haired sister). Needless to say, I LOVE this product!and haven't even mentioned the heavenly scent! Not only do I adore the scent, but it is also extremely long-lasting. As a mom who doesn't believe it's healthy for kids to shampoo every day (but fully aware that others would consider this less than hygienic), it's important to me that their hair not only look clean for at least 2-3 days, but *smell* clean as well. Everything else I'd tried up to that point had failed at thiseven overnight with somebut this particular scent lingers at least through day 2, and often day 3. Once it wears off, the kids' hair smells neither clean nor dirty, and then I know it's time to shampoo/condition again that night.

Now, after having used this product for the better part of a dozen years, I have been seeing/hearing about the amazing benefits of cleansing conditioners (such as Wen) and got curious about the difference between Wen and normal conditioner such as this. Other reading about various ingredients and their role in cleansing/conditioning hair, I'm not convinced there's much difference at all. I decided to begin using my already-beloved Nature's Gate Herbal conditioner the same way that Wen describes using their "cleansing conditioner", and after 2 "washings", so far I am loving my hair! I now have almost NO frizz to my curls, even after blow-drying with no other styling products! I understand from several different reviews and blogs that an occasional shampoo may be necessary to clarify, but I'm happy to have avoided spending $30 on a 12-ounce bottle of Wen, and gotten results I am pleased with from the same product (with the same amazing scent!) I've known and loved for many years. My dry-haired daughter will be trying this "co-washing", or conditioner washing, this week and we will see how her hair fares.

The only reason I gave this product 5 stars, is that I can't give it six. ;)
