Burt's Bees Shampoo and Conditioner Value Pack - Pomegranate

After buying so many hair products which promise so much, I decided to give Burt's Bees "Very Volumizing" Shampoo a try. I've seen the brand around, but never gave it a serious thought. It IS wonderful! No more itchy scalp from chemicals: it's almost entirely natural ingredients, and makes my hair style like never before! I am so glad I found it! Now I want to try their other products too..

Similar to many others, I've tried many, many volumizing shampoos and conditioners. I wanted to go with something organic and natural, so I tried this. I have very fine, color treated hair. After one shampoo, I'm very happy with these products. I feel good using them because I'm using less chemicals on my hair. It's an a+ for me!

As other reviewers have said, you need to use a lot of this shampoo, and you get very little, if any, lather. It does smell nice. However, my hair was so tangled that I had a hard time getting the conditioner rinsed out. Then, it took about 20 minutes to detangle afterwards, and I have quite fine hair. My hair seemed dry and frizzy afterwards. I have given this a fair chance 3 times. NO MORE. Although I like other Burt's Bees products (body lotion) this shampoo, for me, is terrible.

I dislike this product. It didn't do anything special to my hair, in fact my hair seemed coarser after using this stuff. Also the smell was not interesting in any way. Don't waste your money.

If by "Volumizing" it means "creates frizz" then this shampoo is doing it's job. But since I am pretty sure this is not the case, I am going to give this shampoo/conditioner 3 stars.

Why?

Well, it is a great natural shampoo I will give it that. Not nearly as many chemicals as other brands. One of my problems with it is that I have such long hair and it takes SUCH a large amount of shampoo in order to cover it. I have never had this problem with other shampoos... I don't know if it is just the consistency of it or what, but it takes me a good heaping handful to efficiently lather my hair. Same goes for the conditioner.

Another problem I have is that it leaves my hair VERY frizzy. I don't know if that is it's attempt at "volumizing", but I hate it. Of course the frizz can be fixed with a decent de-frizzer, but I have never had to use one of those in my life so it's kinda annoying that I would need to now after using this shampoo/conditioner.

All in all, I think this might be a really great shampoo for someone who has short to shoulder length hair and will not require such a large amount in order to fully lather up their hair. But, it is not a great shampoo for me, and I will not be buying it again. The price + how much I need to use is just not worth it for me. It might be if the shampoo didn't leave my hair frizzy and actually did what it advertised, but that is not the case. I hope others have better results.
