The key to using this face cleanser is to first apply to a dry face, then wet hands and create the slightest lather before removing either by washcloth or splashing face. I didn't find it left any residue at all, it was great for getting even long wear eye makeup off without irritating eye area. I have dry skin and it has helped my face stay in better condition throughout dry weather months. The bottle lasts quite awhile too.

I have light blonde eye lashes that you cannot even tell are there unless I use quite a bit of mascara -so that's what I do. I like to use Almay triple effect mascara but I wear quite a bit to get long, full looking lashes. The problem -it's a bugger to take off. I have scrubbed and washed and scrubbed and washed until my eyes are sore and raw (sometimes still leaving behind remnants). But, with Bobbi Brown's Soothing Cleansing Oil ALL of my makeup (including mascara, eye liner, foundation, etc.) is removed and my face is washed clean all in one simple step! No need to apply water first, in fact, you don't want to wet your face to begin with (water and oil don't mix). With a dry face and a few pumps of the oil on your fingertips; rub cleansing oil onto your face and eyes washing everything of all impurities. Once you feel all of the makeup has been lifted, then rinse your face clean with water. It's a one step cleanser that not only leaves your face feeling clean and soft, but also removes that stubborn makeup and mascara at the same time. I absolutely love this stuff! No more scrubbing and double washing for me just pure ease in removing my eye makeup! You're gonna' love it!

I really love bobbi brown's products including the concealer kit and eye cream.

I wanted to love the cleansing oil but unfortunately it just fell short of its claims.

I wanted the cleansing oil to clean my skin (which is combination skin) and to remove makeup. It definitely didn't do the latter and no matter how much I washed my face, left my skin with a thin film so that I had to wash with another soap. Sad to say but really disappointed by the product.
