I am into soaps that do it all. I've used this as shampoo, face wash and body wash. Does a good job as all three and smells great while doing it. I still need to use a conditioner if I use it on my hair, but it still beats most of the all purpose cleansers I've tried. It hasn't been a miracle product as a face wash, like some people have claimed. Kind of expensive for a small bottle (and the pump sucks). But I like it and would get it again.

I am so happy with this line of skin care products. I started using the peeling cream and the Q10 multi vitamin cream after my esthetician recommended them during a facial. The peeling cream really makes my skin smoother and look younger. The first week I used it twice and after the second time I started really seeing a difference. I have been through many different skin creams and European one (it is made in Germany) has to be the best. I heard about it from a friend and bought it on Amazon. Mineral Fusion Natural Brands Purifying Gel Facial Cleanser

I used this cleanser just three times and broke out in a horrible itchy, scaly red rash all over my face and neck; my lips even swelled up and are peeling! I can't leave the house and can't stop itching. If not for being so self-conscious, I would include a picture. Bummer.

Do not be fooled into thinking this will be a gentle cleanser simply b/c it claims it's "natural". I have never had such a severe reaction to any other skin care in my life. I will say that I have sensitive skin, but on the back of the cleanser it states that there are calming ingredients to soothe skin. Yeah right! If I could I'd give this negative 5 stars.

I'm surprised to see people have had reactions to this face wash. It is my favorite! It cleans my combination skin beautifully and despite living in a very dry climate, it has never dried my skin out excessively (and I used it twice a day). I feel like this face wash controls my breakouts and lathers really nicely. I like that it's not made with dangerous ingredients like parabens or synthetic fragrance.

I have oily skin, and like a previous reviewer said, I have never had a bad skin reaction to any product before, until this one. It cleansed my face well and removed my makeup, but several days after I started using it, I notied dry, itchy, red patches on my cheeks. After a few more days, it had also dried on my nose and around my mouth. I returned the product where I bought it (Whole Foods), but even now, after not using it for a week, my skin and lips are terribly dry, itchy, and peeling. I am constantly using moisturizer on my face and cocoa butter on my lips (and again, I have oily skin, so I rarely ever moisturize) and my skin is still so dry. If I am going to spend $100 or more on an item, I do a lot of research and I also ask anyone I know if they have the item so I can try it out. I did that here as well. I should start by saying that meant that I had to buy new brushes since I borrowed the Clarisonic from my mom and the Nutra Sonic from one of my friends and it wouldn't be a good thing to use their face brushes in addition to the machine.

Clarisonic (hereafter referred to as "C") $25 on most sites but this varies with sales

Nutra Sonic (hereafter referred to as "N")$15 on most sites but this varies with sales

Ease of switching out brushes:

C: Easy

N: Not hard, but more difficult than the Clarisonic in comparison

Why you want a sonic cleaner to begin with it: Sonic wave technology has long been proven as far more than a gimmick, though it may sound that way at first. Sonic wavelength technology is made up of tiny vibrations that allow you to loosen dirt you could not otherwise. This is why they are used in professional toothbrushes and in the jewelry cleaner machines your jeweler uses. I own both of those items too and I can tell you there is an ENORMOUS difference from that and simply a vibrating sonic-wannabe of either. For your face this means it cleans your pores 6 times better than you can via simply washing, reducing breakouts but also helping take away loose skin on the surface you can't see which clogs pores and dulls skin and renewing skin reduces wrinkles. Having worked in the cosmetic biz myself, I'm well aware of that truth.

So let's get down to how they worked...

To be fair, I used one for one week on one side of my face, twice per day and the other on the other side of my face twice per day.

Sonic Power:

C 300 rotations per second

N 400 rotations per second

The Nutra Sonic was obviously stronger but I didn't measure these rotations on my own...no way could I count that fast. The manufacturers provided these details, both to me and in their advertised specs. This is both a good and bad thing. First, it felt like the Clarisonic only had vibration in the middle part of the brush, not all over, which didn't make much sense to me, but suffice it to say it was just lighter on the power, Nutra Sonic truly felt like it had more power...however, that also meant there was a bit more splatter. I could use the Clarisonic standing up, facing the mirror, with no splatter. However, I used the Nutra Sonic in the shower and with my face down to the sink since the power of it sometimes splashed water droplets.

Feel:

C Felt a bit heavier, maybe because it has heavier parts or because it has a built-in timer whereas the Nutra Sonic does not.

N Lighter

So I should add....

Timer:

C Built in timer so you don't use it on any part of your face longer than a minute

N No built in timer

Speeds:

C 1 speed, soft. Manufacturer says it's made for "sensitive skin"

N 4 speeds: sensitive, normal, and body brush

(incidentally, there is a Clarisonic that has more speeds as well but it was, at the time of this review, $200 more than the Nutra Sonic that does the same thing and it still had less sonic power. That's the Clarisonic Pro. I'm not writing about this though, because I didn't try it due to the price and already knowing the power wasn't as good as the Nutra Sonic going in.)

C: 1 brush

N: 3 brush heads for each speed...if your skin is very sensitive, there is a softer brush, if you want greater exfoliation, use the harder brush at normal speed, or soften feet and elbows in the shower with the body brush on high speed. Incidentally, if I have bad breakouts I do sometimes use the high speed on my face to really exfoliate.

Jitter Mode:

C: Has no Jitter Mode setting in addition to speeds

N: Has a jitter mode setting so you can use exfoliation cleansers and pretty much get a pro exfoliation. I prefer Mary Kay's exfoliation cleanser because they are one of the few that uses the exact same exfoliates as dermatologists use...rather than ground peach pits or apricot pits that actually put tiny tears in your skin. Again, that's just from me being in the biz for a few years that I know that odd fact. Olay has a good one too.

N: Low in comparison, but nothing with decent sonic wavelength tech is cheap.

It should be noted that price varies greatly both on Amazon and the internet. Do compare shipping charges as well. Usually I find everything cheaper on Amazon but in this case, for me, Amazon had a link ad on the Nutra Derm page that linked to an outside website that had the Nutra Sonic less and with free shipping so do explore around as sometimes it's cheaper in one place and sometimes another, or sometimes it's cheaper on one but the seller jacks up the shipping.

Cleansers:

In my opinion, skip the upsell for the cleansers of both models if you have the option and just buy whatever brand you like...they are just average cleaners and not worth the extra mark up for the small bottles.

Bottom Line...Cleaning

C: Did a far better job of cleaning than a regular scrubbing with a wash cloth and cleanser, reduced breakouts and smooth feel

N: I expected to like the Clarisonic better, I'll be honest, because in spite of the fact I knew Nutra Sonic had more power, Clarisonic was pricier. You don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes you simply pay for marketing. The pores on the left side of my face where I used the Nutra Sonic were MORE reduced, and my skin was smoother. I can't say I saw a wonderful reduction in wrinkles on either side but it may also be too soon to measure that claim by both brands. I loved the exfoliation mode on the Nutra Sonic and, in all honesty, the speed difference was VERY important to me. Dermatologists exfoliate for a reason: removing the outer layer of dead skin rejuvenates your skin and prevents clogged pores which lead to acne. The soft pulse of the Clarisonic simply didn't do this as much, although I did like it better than a wash cloth. For results, the Nutra Sonic won for me hands down.

Warranty:

C: 1 year but ONLY if your purchase stems from the Clarisonic website. (But the price was far higher on their website when I looked than most other sellers of it.)

N: 1 year regardless of where you buy it.

Conclusion: If you want to use the sonic cleaner looking into a mirror and never in the shower and you have very sensitive skin that doesn't need a deeper clean, the Clarisonic would make you happy. It does clean well. However, if you don't mind looking down near the sink to prevent some random water drops that Nutra Sonic sometimes slings with the greater vibrations, or you want to use it in the shower, or you want to exfoliate or have normal skin that sometimes needs a greater scrubbing (although you can still go with gentle too), I'd choose the Nutra Sonic. Also if you want to use it on your body, the Nutra Sonic works with the intense clean and body brush whereas you can't do this with the Clarisonic. The Nutra Sonic, however, does not have the built-in timer to tell you when you've been on a part of your face for a minute and should move on but, for me, for the cost savings, I can wing it.

I thanked my Sonic cleanser lenders and still remain VERY happy with the Nutra Sonic. Plus now the right side of my face has caught up with the left and is equally as smooth and clean!

UPDATE: I've been using this daily since my review and all these 7 months later I like it even more...works great, no issues. And my mom now has a Nutrasonic too! Ha! Plus, I have not yet had to buy ANY new brushes...they totally hold up and it has a better warranty than the Clarisonic anyway so should I have an issue...I will report back in and exchange it as well...thus far, my makeup is even better and smoother due to no more dead surface skin. I still like it!

Update: I've had the Nutrasonic for a year now. Still have smooth skin, still works great. If it starts stuttering on you that means it's time to charge it. It says this in the directions. I charge mine about once per week.

This is a great product. I noticed within a few weeks much improvement with my skin. Mainly the even tone and smaller pores. I do love how my skin feels tight and clean after I use it. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is the brushes could be easier to remove and replace. Other than that I recommend it to anyone with or without skin issues.

Let me first off say that when I first seen this product advertised I was thinking like most consumers it's garbage so I did my research on the NutraSonic. I looked at reviews then I looked took it one step further and watched videos, one popped up on hsn, clearly the model they used already had beautiful glowing skin... I've been a fan of burt's bees products for years. The natural aspect is one of the stand out reasons, and also because they're reasonably priced and work well. I've had problems with acne for years, mostly cystic, and now if it's going to happen, it's usually around that 'time of the month' when my hormones are off their rocker.

This cleanser was thinner in consistency then expected, more just liquid then a gel. But it smells amazing -lemony -and it has a nice lather and leaves the skin feeling great. It doesn't feel drying or like it stripped my skin bare like a lot of acne products can. Actually pretty moisturizing, as I don't feel the need to add a moisturizer like I usually would after washing my face.

I like using a combo of products with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I figure why go with one when you can hit potential break outs with both? This burt's bees cleanser is in the salicylic acid family, deriving it naturally from willow bark extract. It contains 1.0% Salicylic acid.

Also contains beet extract and evening primrose extract. It does not contain sulfates, parabens,phthalates or petrochemicals(as stated on the label).

I have had cystic acne/very oily skin for most of my adult life and been on a myriad of antibiotics, prescription/otc lotions and skin peels all of which eventually lead me back to severe breakouts.

The most effective acne solution I had come up with was Dr. Bronners Lavender and a prescription topical lotion called Duac which is clindamycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide.This still wasn't enough to stop breakouts of every size. I was also was extremely sick of bleaching out all my pillow cases, shirt collars, etc.

A close friend of mine mentioned this wash and I was an absolute skeptic. Salicylic acid had never worked well for me at all. On a whim, I bought it.

I began using this wash, along with the Dr Bronner's and in less than a week all the tiny blemishes that covered both my cheeks/jawline/neck were gone. My face is less red and much softer. The very few times I have broken out in deep painful cysts this wash got rid of them quickly and faster than the prescription lotion. I'm talking, a cyst that usually took months to heal was gone in a week. As a matter of fact, I no longer need or use the Duac. Now that I have been using this wash regularly twice a day for about 3 months now, I have had no cysts! For the first time in over a decade I no longer need to depend on prescription medication to give me the hope of clear skin. And all I have to do is wash my face.

No product is a miracle, diet, fluid intake and hormonal fluctuations can play a large part in your acne so before blaming a product there are other factors to take into account. The skin is the largest organ on the body, try listening to it. Every body is different but this wash certainly works wonders for me.

I had high hopes for this product, but it looks like my acne prevails. Nothing seems work and this stuff just confirmed that. Like many who have sever acne I have done the whole dermatologists thing, expensive 3 step systems, and about every face wash on the freaking market with no success. I have been using it for 2 yrs on my daughter and still am very happy. I've tried other brands but they are too sticky or thick and this one is just creamy. I am sensitive to fragrances but this smells amazingly yummy.

I had Cystic acne. Which is the worst possible acne you can have. I went to my docotr she told me use anything with tea tree oil to help clear my skin. I found Derma e. I'm 23 and I've had moderate acne for years, I also have very sensitive skin. I get very bad skin reactions when using products containing benzoyle peroxide or Salicylic Acid so finding an effective acne clearing product without these ingredients is very challenging.

I have battled adult cystic acne for years and have used and tried about everything....from over the counter to RX. I came upon a site to order samples from Derma E and I was very happy with the product.

It is a product that works as it says it will.

I am a fan of tea tree anyways as far as clearing up acne like nothing else.

This product is amazing!!! I have had acne/cystic acne problems for 20 years and I have never found a product that works as well as this does. I initially started using the Very Clear Moisturizer for problem skin an really liked the results. I found the cleanser, read the reviews and thought I would give it a try. So glad I did!!!! My face has never been this consistently clear, I may still get one or two small break outs, but nothing like before I used the product and they clear very quickly. I will mention one small issue to potential users; I do not consider this product a make up remover. I still wash my face with my usual Neutrogena grapfruit cleanser to remove my make up before I use this product. In the morning, I simply use it by itself. I consider this more of a "treatment", but it works wonders! I won't even have to be self-conscious this summer when I go swimming at sisters because I will still look good without make-up!

This product feels nice under the eyes and smells good too. But unfortunately, after using it for weeks, I see no difference in the appearance of my eyes. The dark circles and puffiness have not subsided at all. I probably won't be purchasing this again.

A day after using this my coworker said to me, "You look tired". Not a good start, I guess. After using this for a few days, I have noticed that the dark circles are less noticeable. Not sure what was going on with my eyes, but this thing would give my under eyes a burning sensation and I didn't use too much. It even says to use a "generous amount". I would just roll it under my eyes, the little silver ball felt nice to the touch, but that's about it.

My undereyes also became itchy.

It did no lightening to my undereyes whatsoever.

I have very tired eyes. I'm a student in college who procrastinates and stays up all night on the computer. Even on days that I have a good rest and used this, it did nothing.

I didn't expect a miracle. But luckily I had no effects from the burning. Just a bit itchy.

What worked though a bit for me was consuming green tea extract. Or you can just drink green tea daily. I'm too lazy to brew tea every day so I just take a capsule every day and I noticed my dark circles reduced. One day I was looking in the mirror and I've been taking the capsules for a week or two and I noticed no darkness around my eyes, I was amazed.

I had to rush to school in the morning and neglected the green tea capsules and my dark circles came back. That is what has led me to believe they worked for my under eyes (I'd take it in the morning WITH breakfast). I read green tea helps with overall health and eyes anyway, so give green tea capsules a try.

I take lots of baths, and I'm picky about my bubble bath. This product produced good bubbles that were pretty long-lasting (although I have used better). The smell is amazing.

I had no problems with the condition of the bottles as they arrived.

The bottles are a little small for the price.
