I got some of this soap in a gift basket last year. It lathers well and makes my skin very soft after shaving. I use it everyday. I still have a good bit of it left..that is before my roommate moved out and stole it! Who steals a used bar of soap? She did and yeah, it's that good!

I use this soap when I'm traveling because it doesn't have to go into my 1 quart baggie to carry onto the plane, and it works both for shaving as well as bathing. It is very mild and the scent does not linger. I'm glad Amazon is carrying it because I've had some trouble buying it at my local Whole Foods. I recommend it highly.

Cor Silver Soap

Approached by the Cor Silver Soap company purporting to use actual silver particles in their facial soap I could not help but be intrigued. Silver, the precious metal, as a facial cleanser? Would one be able to SEE the silver in the soap? Would silver be a good additive, or just an excuse to charge untoward amounts of cash for such a novel product?

As in all reviews I do, the proof lies in the testing. Cor helpfully sent me two small round slices of Cor Silver Soap to test. The small samples are considered a week or month's worth (depending on how thickly one lathers their face) of cleansing. I gave one to my mother to get a larger test sample than just myself.

The Cor Testers:

At 41, my skin is olive-toned, prone to getting dark freckles and evidence of hyperpigmented sun damage, but few wrinkles. I have normal skin with a tendency to get spot breakouts when I use products containing irritants on my face.

My mother is 62, has light crows feet, slight nose to mouth lines, and very few wrinkles overall. She has lighter colored skin with blue-pink undertones, and also gets dark freckles in the sun. Her skin type is normal to dry.

We each used the soap twice daily for a week.

The Cor Test:

We both found the Cor Silver Soap very pleasant to use. It has a light, barely there clean scent, goes on silky and washes off cleanly. This is a low-lather product, which I prefer in a face cleanser.

Cor Silver soap removes the dirt from the day and most of the makeup, and doesn't leave us with that dry, tight skin feeling which we've come to realize means the skin is stripped. In other words, we felt comfortable, soft and clean. We both followed up use with our normal moisturizers. We did not experience irritation or breakouts. Wrinkles, though sadly remained right were we'd left them.

Negatives for this product center mainly squarely on price point. As one would expect. A full bar of Cor Silver Soap at 125 grams will set you back $125. Our tiny "cucumber slice" samples cost $14 each in retail. At either size, we consider that pretty darned expensive for, what is, in essence, a pH balanced soap for sensitive skin. Many lovely drugstore facial cleansers for perform the same task at a fraction of the price.

The Reality for Cor Silver Soap:

This is clearly an elegant formulation, presumably due to the silica, collagen and silk protein ingredients. The pomegranate extracts and avocado oil are also helpful ingredients with antioxidant and soothing benefits respectively.

Silver, the most salubrious ingredient on the menu, is an unusual choice for face cleanser on several levels ~

Silver has been studied and proven as an antibacterial agent, as with most metals. But is there enough silver in the solution to approach antimicrobial levels? I can see right through the soap sliver and while it does have a mild metallic sheen, I cannot say just how much silver is needed to fight bacteria in a product applied to surface skin.

In another vein, a cleanser is made to wash on and wash off. This isn't a moisturizer or serum whereby strong active ingredients are applied facially and left to soak in. Thus, having silver and collagen in a largely glycerin soap product seems a bit precious: how will something you wash right away (or even away after a few spare minutes, as they suggest for deep cleansing) encourage healing and cell growth?

Cor's touted answer is that the active ingredients penetrate deeply into the dermis layer of skin. I would like to see studies proving that from my research we aren't there just yet, and don't know exactly what the effects of such nano-technology are for the body in the long term.

The ingredient Chitosen I have no issue with, as that helps provide a fibrous mechanical type of mild exfoliation, leaving skin smoother overall. Mixed with the silica and silk proteins, Cor really does offer a lovely formulation to cleanse, exfoliate and add moisture-binding ingredients in one pleasant step.

The Recommendation for Cor Silver Soap:

This a nice product for facial cleansing: with mild exoliation in a a non-drying forumla. It is easily rinsed, and matched with a very slight scent of lemon verbena and fresh melon.

If this is what you seek in a cleanser, I'd suggest purchasing the sample size at $14 and seeing if you can't live without it. An expensive price tag doesn't always translate to a miracle product, so I'd take the claims of reviving, plumping, luminizing, brightening, toning, balancing and healing with a grain of salt. Or in this case, with a grain of soap!

Validity of claims aside, the cleanser IS simply lovely to use and left both mine and my mother's faces fresh, clean, soft and fully prepped for moisturizer. If you don't mind the price tag, this may be the right facial cleanser for you, and you will certainly feel luxurious indulging in it.

I bought a couple of the small sizes before taking the hit to the wallet and getting this bigger bar. What did it for me was that after a week of not using the first "travel size" soap, I noticed a significant difference of my skin's elasticity and evenness of tone, in a downward direction. I got myself another small bar and within a few days of regular use (2/day) noticed those qualities improving. I'm a sucker for immediate gratification, so all the other products that need a month or more to show results just don't make as much of an impression on me since the process is so "gradual" and I don't really notice any difference. Also I think the eventual difference other products make aren't as significant as this bar of soap can deliver. It works faster and better, plus you already wash your face daily, so it's not another step you have to introduce into your routine. It's the simplest, most effective solution I've ever used, and I'm a serial product buyer of the cheap and expensive.

I'm almost 30 and had deep acne through adolescence that I cleared up in college with Acutane, but still have some leftover mild discolorations and pitting along with the first signs of aging. Using this in conjunction with a mild nightly skin lightener has given me the face of my 12 year old self (if I hadn't had acne at the time). I've had my big bar for three months and have barely gotten through what I think is 1/4 of the bar. To use, I dampen my face, dry off any drips and roll the bar in my hand just a few times. I rub this into my face and neck to create the lather instead of waiting for the bar to lather in my hand. I think this is the trick to getting this bar to last its 6-9 months.

I found a sample of this soap and decided to try it since I am already a fan of colloidal silver (for immune strengthening). It is absolutely amazing. I have moderate acne, enough to bother me on a daily basis and require make-up. After one week of using this soap, my skin looked fabulously clear. It's all-natural and its close-to-neutral pH is great for my super-sensitive skin and it's not drying like typical acne products (I've used ProActiv--this is so many times better). Cor soap is made by Plank Designs, a great eco-conscious company focused on sustainability and natural products. So far, I've had this soap (the large size) for 3.5 months and it is about 3/4 gone, so I would be wary of the "lasts 6-9 months" that they advertise. I first tried this soap in a small travel sample. While it may seem outrageous to spend this much on what appears to be a glycerin bar, I find it cleans my skin without leaving it dry, keeps my skin clear and oil free but doesn't irritate, and lasts forever! Dermalogica MediBac Clearing Adult Acne Treatment Kit

I'm 22 and still get acne and have tried everything there was to cure it since it started in my early teens. I've tried ProActiv, Duac, silicic acid based cleansing products, Ortho tri-cyclen, Trinessa, etc.. I had tried Accutane when I was a teenager which was supposed to be the closest thing to a cure. My acne completely disappeared for 2 years after using Accutane but came back. I was back to square one, only as an adult I didn't think I'd still get acne. I bought it at Ulta for $40. Very spendy. But a lot of the cheap acne treatment products out there I found a little too harsh for my face and most of them were marketed towards teenagers. The acne treatments prescribed by my dermatologist, I found were short-term fixes. If you're an adult still suffering from acne, I recommend trying Dermalogica. The bottles may seem small, but they'll last a while.

I was having a terrible time with my skin this past summer...moved to a humid, sticky, hot new place and my skin, which is already normally oily, was not reacting well at all. Finally, the most amazing skin product I have ever used in my entire life is a part of this line...the clearing mattifier OMG... an absolute godsend this product, an absolute godsend.

I have very oily skin, and I have used a variety of cleansers that have been too harsh or too mild. I discovered this product when i went to a high end salon to get a facial. I have never used a product that agreed so much with my facial skin. It has ingredients that gives your face a cool and tingly sensation. Not an uncomfortable burning sensation like some other products. When you are done with the day, your face is 2 or 3 times less oilier than usual. I don't know if it is this product or Dermalogica's Anti Bac Wash, but the big pores on my nose have decreased significantly. I have always had big pores on my nose and it is a surprise for me to see them so small. This product is great for anyone with oily skin. I should note that I've also been using an acne supplement too ClearZine (2 Bottles) The Top Rated Acne Treatment Pill. Eliminates Blotchiness, Redness, Blackheads and Zits and have found the combination to be fantastic. So far I've been able to reduce the overall presence of my acne It may be a little expensive for the dermalogica, but it takes forever to get through a whole bottle since you only need less than a dime sized amount to get a good cleaning going.

Believe me, I'm as impatient as the next person, but I took my facialist's advice and stuck with these products. I started using this kit at the end of Aug, and it's now coming up to the end of Oct. The first month was pretty terrible, I seemed to break out more than ever, my pores seemed especially clogged...but slowly my skin adapted to the regimen, and those clogged pores sometimes turned to pimples, but then those healed. Essentially, I'm not at a point now where I have less clogged pores than I've had in years and years, and the breakout are becoming few and far between. These are the best products I've ever used on my skin, and I've used sooo many different brands of products. Just be patient! And I mean, 2, 3, 4 months patient. I have tried several acne clearing products over the years...Proactive, Murad, Neutogena, you name it, I've tried it! I bought this trial kit based on a friends recommendation. I am 37 with acne prone, oily skin around my chin area. I usually have a good amount of break outs during my period, so I am dealing with hormonal acne. Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser, which works just as well as the best cleansers that I have tried on my face before it. I love that all of the products offered by Andalou Naturals are made with a lot of thought and care, by blending advanced Fruit Stem Cell Science with natural and fair-trade ingredients, with a minimum 70% certified organic content. Wen Winter Vanilla Mint Cleansing Conditioner - 16 oz

I have tried various WEN cleansing conditioners: Sweet Almond Mint, Winter Mint, Cucumber, Fig. The Winter Mint is BY FAR the best for my medium length (4 inches below shoulder), medium density, straight-ish hair. I agree with other reviewers in that not all WEN products that are supposed to work for 'all hair types' are alike. The Cucumber is light, but will leave flyaways, the Sweet Almond Mint is an good all-around standby, but the Winter Mint works fabulously and smells the best. It also has the most 'minty' -menthol feeling on your scalp which lets me know it's working, and stimulates circulation. Also, I use the ORIGINAL WEN instructions. I am unsure why they changed them. I apply to dry/barely damp hair, then add a splash of water to lather. This allows MUCH MORE penetration of the product into the hair shaft, and yields much better results than rinsing first and applying to soaking wet hair. The difference afterward is extremely noticable. Try it yourself it you're a new WEN user and never used it the 'old' way. I feel like they changed the directions to make it more user friendly (it feels like it goes on easier), but much value and effectiveness is lost that way.

FYI have tried it against Hair ONE from Sally's Beauty Supply. The cost of a bottle of Hair ONE is approximately $10, so needless to say I was really hoping it would work. I was thinking that the cost was less than 1/3rd of WEN, but the ONE conditioner is only 12 oz. compared to a 16 oz. bottle of WEN so you lose a third of your savings right there. Price PER OUNCE if you're doing the comparisons. Secondly, the ONE conditioner is of a different consistency than WEN. It is lighter, 'fluffier' i.e. more air whipped in to the product, and unfortunately this means (believe it or not) you use EVEN MORE of this product than of WEN. There goes the next chunk of savings. Lastly, and disappointingly the result was probably half as good. The ONE from Sally's left flyaways, and a bit of flatness. It is BETTER than traditional shampoos, but was disappointing as a WEN substitute. Unfortunately I cannot afford to spend $5-6 per washing as I do with WEN!! it is crazy. I applaud ONE for trying to put out a comparable, affordable product, but please try harder! In all honesty, $3-4 per shampoo with ONE is JUST as ridiculous, but feels worse when the results aren't even satisfying. If I'm going to splurge, I'd rather be thrilled with the results and feel like I'm pampering myself. -Not feeling like I'm 'pampering on the cheap' and be disappointed.

fyi use WEN for 3 weeks straight, then use a gentle shampoo on my scalp only, once. Had the BEST HAIR of MY LIFE. Super body-filled and soft, but very light and clean at the roots. Try it!

I've thought about trying Wen for a long time, and made the decision to do so when I saw the Winter Vanilla Mint scent. It sounded so nice. I've seen the infomercials and read reviews about how great the product is. Before I placed the order I saw a couple reviews about hair loss and didn't think much of them, because I figured folks just weren't used to combing their hair in the shower and didn't realize how much hair they lose on a regular basis. I wish I had paid more attention to those reviews! I have long hair (halfway down my back) and I love it dearly. And I'm afraid I've made a horrible mistake using this product. The first time I used it, my hair felt like straw after not at all silky and smooth like the models on QVC or in the infomercials. I figured it must just take time to work. Then I started noticing I was shedding. A LOT. Again, I figured it was just because my hair was getting used to it. I used it a second time and my hair got even dryer, and this time about 3 times as much came out in the shower and it just won't stop. I am HORRIFIED. The second time I used it, I also wore a tank top, so my hair was touching the skin on my back and neck. I am having a severe breakout everywhere it touched my skin. As I type this a week after the last use, my scalp is bumpy and itchy and my hair continues to fall out. I understand that some people may have reactions while most don't, but there really needs to be a warning label on this stuff. Like on hair color you should test it before use. Who would think that shampoo (or non-shampoo in this case) could be dangerous? Be very careful if you decide to try Wen. After further research, this seems to be a very common problem. Some folks have contacted the FDA and I plan to do that tonight when I have the bottle in my hand. Hair professionals have weighed in and stated that massaging conditioner into your roots can clog the follicles and cause the roots to die. I can only hope this is not permanent. Please, please use caution with this product.

I should also add that my mother is having the same experience. She only used it once and her baby fine, silky hair looks like it's been fried and she's shedding more than usual.

I have tried most of the WEN line of products. After using the Winter Vanilla Mint the first time I knew this was the perfect one for me. The scent is delicious, not over powering. The product leaves my coarse, wiry, frizzy, white hair smooth, tamed down, soft and easy to manage. If you are new to WEN follow the directions and you will not be disappointed. I rinse out the product with water as cool as can be tolerated then wrap a towel around my head as soon as I step out of the shower, leaving it on as long as possible. So I was super excited to get this cologne and all the reviews I read seemed positive. If there is one thing I have learned it is never to blind buy, ALWAYS smell and test a fragrance on yourself before purchasing it. This was difficult with Twice though since it isn't retailed in America.

REVIEW:

By itself the scent was quite powdery and smelt like something a 40 something year old man would wear, perhaps while taking a business trip on an airplane.

On me the fragrance started out pretty non-descript, it smelled nice (like most perfume) but totally forgettable. It had a very floral/cream soda-like note to start; a close comparison would be the Kilo body wash by Axe, not exactly what I expected from a cologne. This faded pretty fast, "thankfully". The next phase was quite nice, it reminded me of a clean jasmine green tea and clover honey. I definitely enjoyed this phase of the scent although I do not know if I liked the smell on me. The scent lasted for perhaps 5 hours or more, the nice mid-scent didn't last incredibly long and instead gave way to again a powdery and non-descript smell; not bad, but not that interesting either.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it. It's a tad too floral and the best part of the scent was a short middle and the dry down was pretty bland. I will keep using it to see if it grows on me, but I am doubtful.

I've used Arbonne foot cream and it is a great product and smells good. So I ordered the hand cream thinking it would be a good product and it may very well be, but I can't get past the horrid smell! I've been using Pernox since at least the early '90's and would recommend it to anyone! I have oily, sensitive skin, and I won't use anything else. Pernox is like many anti-acne products on the market today in that it does contain salicylic acid, but the comparison ends there. Pernox also works because of the sulfur content sulfur has been used since Roman times as a naturally antiseptic agent, and prevents the bacterial growth that can cause acne breakouts. Additionally, the abradant scrub part is very, very fine, and polishes rather than scratching. With this product I have gone from acne-prone to someone who gets compliments on beautiful clear skin. I don't even have to wear makeup!

To be fair, it may take a few weeks to adjust to using it, but work into it slowly, and you will not be disappointed.

It's the only cleanser that works well for me. The lemon keeps shine down and the scrubbing beads keep my skin clear and smooth. It's awesome!

If you have a pimple and need to get rid of it now this is the product. It is a scrub and will open a pimple that has come to a head, but that is okay. Pernox will clean the area and kill the germs the caused the pimple. I used this product as a teenager. It was recommended by my dermatologist. If you use this at least 3 times a week it will prevent any build up of pimples. I never had a bad case of acne, but as a teen pimples just show up sometimes. Using Pernox as soon as a pimple begins to develop you can stop it before it gets larger. It saved me the day before a date many times.

As I Am Leave In Conditioner, 8 Ounce

This is a light weight but moisturizing leave in. The ingredient list is not bad and it can be purchased at sallys and select walgreens. The scent is nice and it also plays well with other products. I have 4a hair if that helps. I can detangle with it and it feels great going on. I twist my hair with only this leave in and seal my ends with oils so I do not have to worry about my hair being matted. It is worth a try and a little goes a long way.

I will be honest, I don't require much in terms of leave-in conditioner but I do like it to have the following properties: moisturize and detangle my hair. Honestly that is it. This leave-in conditioner on the other hand, provided minimal of the two. It detangles my hair but I have to use an generous amount and this 8 ounce bottle is pretty pricey, even if you stack coupons and catch it on sale. Even with the amount I used, my wide tooth comb didn't glide through my hair. I will admit that my hair is very tangle prone so that might be my issue. But the problem I mainly have with this leave-in conditioner is that it didn't moisture my hair at all. Even when I use the DoubleButter cream in conjunction with this leave-in conditioner, in eight hours my hair is drier than the Gobi desert. Mind you that even though I have kinky-curly hair (4a/b/c if you follow the Walker system), my hair is thick but fine so oils and their ilk can easily weight down my hair (for about a day or two). This would work for someone who has slightly dry hair. I guess my hair is too thirsty for this. Ironically I cannot get heavy-handed with Shea Moisture or else my hair stays greasy for about 3 days. All I can say is if you are curious, I would purchase it via Sally's local store because they can let you return it. Otherwise you can end up with a ~$15 regret.

I have slightly below shoulder length fine type 3b hair. I co-wash with a moisturizing conditioner every other day. I shampoo with Organix sulfate free shampoo every week or two. I diffuse my hair after every wash.I was looking for a silicone free leave in conditioner that would not weigh down my hair. This conditioner does the trick. On the day of use my curls were very defined and soft. The next day I added a little more of the conditioner with my daily gel (to combat bed head)and my hair was still soft with good curl definition. When my hair is dry I don't get good curl definition. I used about a quarter's amount of product the first day and a dime's worth the second day. When my area experiences periodic low humidity I may have to use more to get the same effect. I like that this conditioner contains no oils and no silicones. I researched the ingredients and most promote moisture retention and hair growth. I believe that this is a quality product that does what it says and should work for most people. I do not not believe that there is a hair product that will work for all curly hair, there are just two many variables. Let your hair be your guide, if you are unsure if it will work on your hair, buy it at Sally's where you can return it if it does not work for you.

This didn't do a thing for me. Unless I am, for some reason, looking for a product that leaves my hair as frizzy as when I use no product, I won't use again. In AZ we basically have no humidity, so I'd be terrified to try this in a more humid climate. It smells great and feels lightweight, but my hair looked pathetic.

I have generally healthy, medium length, fine hair (and a lot of it). I use the cleansing conditioner and stick with my Matrix gel and mousse for styling.

I had some of this styling creme left over after trying the Wen Cleansing Conditioner (which I wasn't very impressed with). However, I am absolutely impressed with this styling creme. I now use it with Bed Head shampoo & conditioner. It must work well together because my hair is left feeling so soft & shiny! I got this cleanser as part of a Christmas gift set, and I fell in love instantly. It takes a tiny (less than pea-sized) amount to fully cleanse your skin, and it leaves a clean, not "stripped" feeling. The fragrance is fresh and light, and afterwards, your face is really soft. I love the foam, and I was amazed by how much it made from such a tiny portion of the cleanser. I'll be using this for a long, long time.

This is the first of the philosophy bath products I have tried. I wanted to use it mostly as a bubble bath. For the money, I am somewhat disappointed. The smell and bubbles were fine, but I expected more of a realistic strawberry smell for this much money. The smell had a slightly chemical/ plasticy element to it (like most fake fruit products smell). As a shampoo, it seemed fine, but nothing amazing for the money. As a shower gel, it again did the job, but I did not notice a particular difference in my skin from my normal moisturizing soap. Both as a gel and in the bath, the smell filled the bathroom. But, I did not notice it long afterwards either in the room or on my skin. All in all, an OK product, I guess I just expected more.

I use this 3-in-1 stuff all the time I love being able to just use the same product head to toe. I hesitated to buy this online since I couldn't smell it beforehand (and I LOVE some of philosophy's scents and HATE others) but I didn't like any of the scents available at my mall, and strawberry milkshake just sounded so good. When it first arrived and I peeled off the inner cap to smell it, my heart sank it had this plasticky fake-strawberry smell, like the scented-plastic Strawberry Shortcake doll I had when I was little. But when I actually used it in the shower, it smelled just like I had imagined it would when I ordered!

Gorgeous packaging, and the cream seems nice. Unfortunately, the smell is just awful. I have tried to give the stuff away and no one will take it! The best way I can describe the smell is bitter orange peel and aloe vera that have gone bad in the sun, but I have really never smelled anything quite like it. I have 2 jars and I can't detect the floral (jasmine, honeysuckle) or sweet (davana) notes in either, nor do I detect a crisp ginger note. Tokyo Milk makes other wonderful scents, but this is definitely not one of them.

I have to differ with the other review I see. I am extremely picky about scents, and this is one of literally four or five I have ever been interested in wearing. It has a luscious orange-ginger-apricot base that, oddly enough, smells like honeysuckle (memories of my grandmother's back yard...) before you mentally piece it apart and try to identify its components. Spicy, sexy it makes my toes curl. And the scent is so strong I literally dab a bit of the lotion on my neck, and that's enough.

The packaging, too, is gorgeous, a heavy container that feels luxurious in the hand. A beautiful treat.

ZIRH Clean 8.4oz

I have been using this product for over 6 years and I consistently am told by people how great my skin looks. The only way I can describe using this product is that makes your skin feel "complete" after you use it. The alpha-hydroxy acid's help in reducing fine line and wrinkles and this product is great for keeping blemishes at bay. If your skin is sensitive, I recommend using WASH instead of CLEAN, as it contains less alpha-hydroxy acid. For best results follow up your routine by using CORRECT and PROTECT facial serum.

I have to say that I really love this cleanser. It cleans your face throughly, yet leaves it moisturized and not at all dry. I am 50 years old and can't use cleansers that dry out my skin. I love that the ingredients are all natural. It is my new favorite cleanser and the price is reasonable too.
