B Kamins Medicated Acne Gel (select option/size)

I recommend this product to people (esp. adult women) who suffer from mild to moderate acne and need a product with more potentcy than the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide that you get with Proactiv and lots of OTC products. I have noticed, however, that this B. Kamins 5% acne gel packs a slightly weaker punch than Earth Therapeutics' Clari-T Acne Serum Nº5. The latter frequently goes out of stock, though, so I use this B. Kamins product as backup.

I spread a thin layer of this acne gel over my entire face each night and have had no problems with my skin getting dried out or flaky. I saw immediate improvement within the first few days; and after 4-5 weeks, my skin was (and still is) clearer than it has been since I was 12. I used to have 15-20 blemishes on my face at any given time, and now I have 2 or 3 (no joke!). The gel is clear with little white flecks, and it has virtually no scent. (B. Kamins touts its "Bio-Maple" complex used in this and other products, so I was actually hoping it would smell a little like maple syrup; alas, no.) Although the gel feels slightly grainy upon application, it spreads around easily and is quickly absorbed.

If you're in the market for a 5% BPO product, I must honestly recommend that you try Earth Therapeutics' Clari-T Acne Serum Nº5 first, as it's more effective than the B. Kamins gel and is only $6.99. Why is it more effective? I have virtually zero blemishes when I use it, versus 2-3 with B. Kamins. It's a minor difference, but noticeable to me.

The B. Kamins gel is not a bad choice, though, so if you're going to buy it, shop around to get a better deal -you can definitely find it for less than Amazon sells it. Good luck!

I used to use "ddf benzyl peroxide gel" but they changed the formula to a cream that actually made my break outs worse. After about a week or so of research I decided to try this gel and this one works just as well for me as the old ddf gel did. I tend to get spotty breakouts (about 2-3 single but sometimes large pimples at a time) every week to two weeks and it has taken care of my most recent breakout within 24-48 hrs, even overnight no one would know I had a problem unless I pointed it out. I would say I love it but I've only had it a couple of weeks so far so I have to make sure it continues to work: so far, so good.

I was a little disappointed to see that the first ingredient was mineral oil though the image on the bottle is an olive suggesting it is olive oil based. (It's the 7th ingredient) Either way, the product is great for gently removing stuborn eye makeup with out havign to scrub and has a pleaseant added fragrance.

i bought this when I was just learning about the oil cleansing method and thought I'd try it out. It's okay. It's commercial which means it turns a milky white color when it hits the water. It moisturizes and I did notice a difference, but you'll get that with any oil if you use it right. It did come in a really cool bottle so that was kinda neat.

Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips by Biore, 6 Count

I've used the original pore strips and they do a decent job, but they aren't amazing. If you have a lot of small blackheads on your nose, the original ones really only pulled out one or two, and the rest were just a bunch of fine hairs.

I gave these ultra pore strips a try and they definitely do a better job. I had much more effective extraction of all those pesky tiny blackheads on my nose/tip of my nose. I've tried masks, manual extraction, exfoliation and nothing would do a great job clearing all those dots. After one use of these ultra strips, the tip of my nose looks MUCH clearer and the pores look noticeably smaller -I was skeptical at first but I was really pleasantly surprised.

In addition, unlike the original strips, these strips contain tea tree oil, so you can feel a refreshing, cool tingle on your skin... and if you've ever used tea tree oil, it works wonders on your skin and works as an antiseptic, which is a nice plus.

***UPDATE, MAY 2011: I've been using these for about 2 years now, off and on, and noticed a couple things: if you use them following a hot shower, it makes a noticeable difference in the effectiveness, rather than after simply washing your face with warm water -the skin is just a lot more receptive. Also, I love using them on other parts of my face. I cut one strip in half and use each half on my chin, forehead or the areas my nose doesn't cover. I almost get better and more satisfying results on these areas and find it's refreshing to attack other problem areas along my t-zone.

Also, you can buy them at Target for about $5.50-$6.50 a box, which is usually cheaper than the Amazon price.

The outside of my nose has been a problem area for me since junior high, as there was always an annoying amount of tiny black dots and little black hairs growing out of it. I'm sure most people don't notice them (my Indian skin hides them well), but I know they're there! Up until now, I'd handled them through daily washing and fingernail extraction (I've still got some scars from my early attempts...). Now that I'm doing better financially, I decided to "splurge" and "treat myself" to these strips. $15 for 6 strips sounds excessive, but I'm only really going to use them for big occasions, so I figured I'd try some before a Saturday event.

The directions are fairly easy: wash your face and pat dry, then sprinkle some water on your nose, dry your hands, and separate the strip from the plastic. Spread the smooth part across your nose, and gently rub it for a bit before waiting for around 15 minutes for it to dry. Then gently strip it off your nose from the edges inward.

That's the only painful part of the process, as the strip ripped a lot of the hair off of my nostrils. I do have to admit though, that the results were obvious: a LOT of tiny black shards of hair (and other stuff) were left on the strip, and a much cleaner, healthier looking nose was the result. I had to wash my nose off again and then put a bit of aloe vera gel on it, but today (Saturday, after the event) it looks much healthier and fresher. The pores look a lot smoother, and the skin is softer to the touch!

Why four stars? Well, it missed some of the blackheads, and a good amount of the hair is still there. For all the stinging pain of the process, I would've thought everything would have been taken off, but it's still enough to make a noticeable difference.

I use face cleansers and even right after shower and deep cleaning i put one of these and i cant believe how much more little blackheads left on my nose. These strips are only good for the nose and you need to follow the instructions and even after couple of days later you will notice the little small tiny heads stuck on the strips. Worth trying. But do not overkill yourself trying to have a smooth skin. everyone is different. These strips are a little expensive for their purpose and usage. If you dont wash up right after you use it than you will have a sticky nose. deep cleansing needs cleaning after usage.

It's amazing how well it works, really. It's completely pain-free, something I didn't expect. It's literally like ripping scotch tape off your face. Very nice, mild, neutral, scentless face wash. Foams well and rinses easily, leaves my skin clean and looking fresh. Only one real complaint: this is a very thin liquid and is absolutely clear. When pouring into a wet hand, it can be tricky to control its flow and tell how much product has been dispensed. If it were a little thicker, or slightly tinted, I feel it would be easier to use. Overall, I will probably buy this again.

Well-balanced facial cleaner. Not too strong, not too weak. Leaves no traces without over-drying your skin. Clean scent. This is a clear viscous liquid, so you do have to pay attention to how much you're pouring out (and you don't need much at all...seems rather concentrated).

This sauce seems as basic as it gets. I wouldn't say its good or bad it does its job but often times leave my face dry and splotchy. After repeated use, my skin seems clean but the condition of my skin is a little weird maybe its drying or theres an ingredient that is reacting with my skin. I've demoted this and the lotion to my travel bag. I would invest some more money into a reputable brand and stay away from the hipster design/coolness of this product.

This stuff does the job that it's advertised to do and does it well. It cleans incredibly well and gets a high amount of lather with a small amount of the product. Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar

I've been using this cleansing bar for about 3 weeks now with ok results. I haven't noticed any change in my skin and in general it is an ok product. My biggest complaint is that it is very soft and messy, not what I would have expected for a bar of soap. I keep it it in a travel bar soap container and it is always gooey and getting all over. Probably wouldn't buy again, but it is more convenient for traveling than carrying a liquid.

It worked well to get rid of my acne, but it caused the skin on my chin to become incredibly dry and bumpy, which then began to spread up the rest of my face. It was horrible! I stopped using this product, switched back to the foaming cleanser, and within a few days my skin was back to normal. It must be something specific with my skin that caused that reaction, but just be wary of the possibility if you use this product.

Dermalogica Medibac Clearing Skin Wash

I have been using dermalogica for about a year. It has cleared up my skin and works really well. I have oily skin and this medibac line keeps my skin in line!

I have pale, sensitive, combination skin that is very acne prone & this has worked well for me. I bought this over a year ago & still have 1/4 of the bottle left. I also bought the travel size bottle & use this to refill it when I go away during the summer. I only wash my face once a day in the evenings, I think this does a great job of removing my makeup when used in combination with my face brush. Benzalkonium Chloride Towelettes

Wife has come down with a very painful case of shingles.

These towelettes help alleviate some of the symptoms. Not a cure.

My family has had great luck treating the occasional fever blister with a cold sore product called Vyroxin; Walgreens also carries their store version, which is cheaper. I just happened to notice the active ingredient in those treatments is the same thing as the active ingredient in these towelettes...Hmmm...I searched here on Amazon and found these. The price is amazing...as the Vyroxin/Walgreens brand cold sore treatment cost anywhere from 10 dollars(on sale)to 25 dollars for 2 treatments...using 1 of these towelettes even 2 times equals 50 treatments for half the price!! These towelettes are also a great topical antiseptic. We only use these towelettes topically and on the outside of the mouth. I am not a doctor nor do I play one anywhere...so check with your own Dr, nurse, medical personnel, etc. when using. I can say that these towelettes work great for us!

Trader Joe's Refresh Citrus Body Wash with Vitamin C - Cruelty Free, 16 Fl Oz (473 mL)

It's decent body wash, but I wouldn't even pay more than the 2 dollars it costs. Sure as HELL would not pay 15!!!!!!

Addendum:

Upon further consideration, I've determined more must be said about the actual product (see comments below).

The body wash has a great scent. It's grapefruity and invigorating, but not overpowering or fake. Trader Joe's does not use artificial ingredients in their products*, so you know you're not going to glow in the dark or anything fun like that. The body wash and shampoo are nearly identical--I think one has more water than the other--so we use the body wash for both purposes. It's not, however, luxurious so spend your savings on a better conditioner if you have special hair needs. ;)

Like I said, this product costs about 2 dollars at Trader Joe's stores. It costs 2 dollars for a reason--because it is NOT WORTH FIFTEEN (or 13 or whatever they lower the price to that is above 2).

If you live in an area that does not Have a Trader Joe's, and you really want a body wash that does not have artificial ingredients, I'm sure there are better products for your 5+ dollars. Otherwise, this is a good product for a great price!

Trader Joe's body wash has a great scent but it is too runny. I loose half of it down the drain.

This is the only soap where it doesn't leave my skin dry. That's right The ONLY bar soap. I have tried over twenty different bar soaps including those commercial detergents (soaps) such as Dove and Caress. Those commercial "soaps" strip your skin of all of your natural oils and produces a mild irritation since the main ingredients are synthetic surfactants. To combat the irritation, the makers of those "soaps" add more chemicals to mask the irritation. Stay away from those "soaps."

I introduced a friend who suffers from eczema to this soap and he said that it, too, was the best soap he has ever used. He uses nothing else now.

This stuff is great for moderately dry skin. The Blueberry Soy Exfoliating cleanser is not your typical exfoliant, in that there are no sandpaper-like little stones in it. It is totally smooth, and smells delicious. My skin looks brighter and feels great using this once per day. While the Eminence line is all high quality stuff, it is important to select a product that is right for your facial make up-. The Stone Crop Gel Moisturizer was initially recommended to me; it dried me out terribly, but worked perfectly for a friend with more oily skin.
