Softsoap Moisturizing Hand Soap W/Aloe, Liquid, 1 Gal Refill Bottle

As a medical doctor, I wash my hands about 50 times a day. Half the time, I use the Sam's Club version of Purell that I buy in the gallon jugs, but when you do that Purell too much, your hands feel sticky with gel residue. Granted, recent medical literature (in peer-reviewed journals) say that you kill more germs w/ Purell than you do with hot, soapy water. But the patients don't complain either way. They're just happy that the doc washes their hands in front of them.

Right. About this product, though...when I used Dial Anti-bacterial liquid soap for a few years, my hands would get really dry and scaly, especially in the winter when humidity is lower. Plus, using Purell gel half the time further dries them. (imagine that, rubbing alcohol drying your skin?). But since I've changed to this stuff, my hands stay adequately moisturized. I bought 1 gallon of this about a year ago, liked it, so I ordered about 5 or 6 more gallons. I think buy.com fulfilled the amazon order at that time.

Also, my jugs of soap say Softsoap aloe vera soap, and now the label online says Softsoap moisturizing soap. They may have changed the formula. I hope not, though. The worst enemy of good is "better"

The other review has a comment on it that says that $17 w/ shipping is too expensive, and Costco has it for ten bucks. But whether you buy it here or there, you're getting a great deal. My grocery store sells the same soap in a 7.5 oz pump bottle for $7.00, and this is 128 oz for $17. I don't need to do the math to know that it's a pretty good deal. (But FYI, you can refill that 7.5 oz. pump 17 times with a gallon)

Oh, yeah. One more thing. If you want to clean your hands, you have to rub and scrub for a bit. Neither soap nor Purell works without being rubbed in a bit. An adequate amount of time to scrub is the time it takes you to sing the "Happy birthday to you...." song. No, I didn't make that up. It's on the CDC website.

Softsoap is the next best thing to sliced bread. I purchased this from Amazon just by its reviews alone and couldn't be happier. I got my hands free battery operated soap dispenser from Amazon and filled it up with the Softsoap Moisterizing Liquid soap. The fragrance is great and the soap is remarkably moisturizing like it says. I am glad I got the gallon size cause the little lady likes it, and after all isn't that whats really important!!!

Soap is good Packaging isn't. If you order this, beware when you open it. If I had of know of the mess that was inside the box I would have opened it inside of my laundry tub and save myself a big mess to clean up. Still trying to get the stain out of my garage floor. Next time I will buy it in the individual containers on sale @ $1.00 for a 7.5oz. container. Will be cheaper considering what was wasted inside the box.

Yup, it's a LOT of soap.

Had a great seller experience to boot!

It was packed really well in a second bag but the lid wasn't screwed on all the way -the lid sealer strip was askew.... anyway, so soap did leak...not much...but enough to get into the box a little bit. It was fine.

I wrote and asked for a small credit or something and they just sent me another gallon of soap. Mon dieu! Now i've REALLY got a lot of soap. It's actually overwhelming ;)

As for the soap itself, it's fine... I've only used it for a few days and I use a number of soaps throughout the house so I can't really attribute much to this one... it's silky when you use it and that feels good, and cleans off easily, so that's good. I think this is a good economical purchase any way you cut it!

I love this soap and I have found that my dry skin is not dried out by this salty soap. I first bought this in a discount store. I know I want to continue using this so I am very happy to find that Amazon has it available. Surprisingly, the description says to avoid your face, but I specifically use the bar on my face without any issue. I've been using this soap for over a year and I love it!

I am a big fan of the Ahava Mud Bar Soap and didn't expect to love this one as much, but I prefer it now that it's cold out. The soap is very mild but lathers well. I use it with exfoliating gloves. It is actually very moisturizing and I started to notice a difference after 3 days of use. My skin feels smoother. Very nice. I love the mud bar during the hot months but it didn't help my dry skin once winter hit. I'm glad I switched to this. I also use it on my face, despite the dire warning and have had no issues. My face even feels smoother and I've had no breakouts. The bar is expensive but I only need 1 a month. I switch off between this and Ahava's Mineral shower gel.

This is nice, no smell and not harsh but doesn't lather like a soap and I actually prefer the MUD salt soap.

Why they use fragrance, I am not sure.

This is great shampoo! I use it to wash my hair in the shower and it's amazing how clean it gets it--there's a shine to my hair that makes it look good and not greasy. I don't need to use much in order to work up a good lather and the scent is not overpowering in any way.

However, there still is a mild scent to this shampoo. If you are allergic to scents I would recommend you look elsewhere for unscented shampoo.

Overall, a very good product!

I like the smell of this bodywash, but it seems I have to use quite a bit of it compared to other moisturizing bodywashes in order to get a moisturizing effect. Olay usually wows me, but I was left nonplussed with this product. Works alright, but doesn't meet the usual standard I've come to expect from Olay. There are other moisturizing bodywashes out there that work better for less money.

This is afordable and wonderful body wash. I wish the size was a lil bigger. OVerall it makes my skin soft and cleans well.

Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips by Biore, 6 Count

I've used the original pore strips and they do a decent job, but they aren't amazing. If you have a lot of small blackheads on your nose, the original ones really only pulled out one or two, and the rest were just a bunch of fine hairs.

I gave these ultra pore strips a try and they definitely do a better job. I had much more effective extraction of all those pesky tiny blackheads on my nose/tip of my nose. I've tried masks, manual extraction, exfoliation and nothing would do a great job clearing all those dots. After one use of these ultra strips, the tip of my nose looks MUCH clearer and the pores look noticeably smaller -I was skeptical at first but I was really pleasantly surprised.

In addition, unlike the original strips, these strips contain tea tree oil, so you can feel a refreshing, cool tingle on your skin... and if you've ever used tea tree oil, it works wonders on your skin and works as an antiseptic, which is a nice plus.

***UPDATE, MAY 2011: I've been using these for about 2 years now, off and on, and noticed a couple things: if you use them following a hot shower, it makes a noticeable difference in the effectiveness, rather than after simply washing your face with warm water -the skin is just a lot more receptive. Also, I love using them on other parts of my face. I cut one strip in half and use each half on my chin, forehead or the areas my nose doesn't cover. I almost get better and more satisfying results on these areas and find it's refreshing to attack other problem areas along my t-zone.

Also, you can buy them at Target for about $5.50-$6.50 a box, which is usually cheaper than the Amazon price.

The outside of my nose has been a problem area for me since junior high, as there was always an annoying amount of tiny black dots and little black hairs growing out of it. I'm sure most people don't notice them (my Indian skin hides them well), but I know they're there! Up until now, I'd handled them through daily washing and fingernail extraction (I've still got some scars from my early attempts...). Now that I'm doing better financially, I decided to "splurge" and "treat myself" to these strips. $15 for 6 strips sounds excessive, but I'm only really going to use them for big occasions, so I figured I'd try some before a Saturday event.

The directions are fairly easy: wash your face and pat dry, then sprinkle some water on your nose, dry your hands, and separate the strip from the plastic. Spread the smooth part across your nose, and gently rub it for a bit before waiting for around 15 minutes for it to dry. Then gently strip it off your nose from the edges inward.

That's the only painful part of the process, as the strip ripped a lot of the hair off of my nostrils. I do have to admit though, that the results were obvious: a LOT of tiny black shards of hair (and other stuff) were left on the strip, and a much cleaner, healthier looking nose was the result. I had to wash my nose off again and then put a bit of aloe vera gel on it, but today (Saturday, after the event) it looks much healthier and fresher. The pores look a lot smoother, and the skin is softer to the touch!

Why four stars? Well, it missed some of the blackheads, and a good amount of the hair is still there. For all the stinging pain of the process, I would've thought everything would have been taken off, but it's still enough to make a noticeable difference.

I use face cleansers and even right after shower and deep cleaning i put one of these and i cant believe how much more little blackheads left on my nose. These strips are only good for the nose and you need to follow the instructions and even after couple of days later you will notice the little small tiny heads stuck on the strips. Worth trying. But do not overkill yourself trying to have a smooth skin. everyone is different. These strips are a little expensive for their purpose and usage. If you dont wash up right after you use it than you will have a sticky nose. deep cleansing needs cleaning after usage.

It's amazing how well it works, really. It's completely pain-free, something I didn't expect. It's literally like ripping scotch tape off your face. Afterward you can see all the little tiny blackheads it pulls out. This product is something I already recommended to other friends, and I would buy again, but I don't really need to... Earth Therapeutics Loofah Back Massager Brush

I love the brush, and I like the wood construction overall, but there is a significant flaw. The second day I had this I dropped it in the shower and the head came off! It didn't break; the loofa is glued to a wood panel that has a slightly tapered slot carved into the top, this mates with the handle, and the two pieces appear to be glued together... but very poorly. Since nothing actually broke I was able to shove the handle back into the channel and with a little force it stayed in fairly well. It has since come apart a couple times, and I just force it back together. Eventually I will drill a hole through the handle and head, drip some glue in the hole and the head' channel, tap a dowel in and likely never worry about it coming apart again. Note that the glue holding the loofa to the head seems very different, and VERY sturdy, so no problems there.

I do recommend this, but I would only give it as a gift if I did the extra drill/glue/dowel step before giving it to anyone. When mine gets old I will happily buy another. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was the glue issue, but it is too nice to only give 3 stars. :)

Although I received the item real fast, it was a BIG disappointment. The handle came off as I took it out of the package. Others had warned about this so this was not a huge surprise, although I had to repair it before I even got a chance to use it. Repair was easy; just a matter of sanding off the inferior glue that is used to attach the handle, and using a proper wood glue. After the 24 hour drying period, more disappointment; the Loofah is extremely hard and minimally pliable even when wet. Not the softer type that I expected. Even though the price is right, I would keep looking to find a back brush of better quality that is softer.

I definitely understand the reason for some of the bad reviews on the Loofa Back Brush. I like the length and wood contruction of the handle, and the brush is a good quality. However, I have also noticed that the brush isn't too securely attached to the handle. I'm just using it normally, but the brush still seems a little loose.

The makers of this product probably know about this problem. Since there does appear to be a wooden dowel/screw through the handle and brush. It's still not quite sturdy, but good enough... At less than $7, I would give this product a try.

Pretty good brush. However, handle was a little too short for my liking, as I have sore shoulders issues. Also, I would have preferred a rounded handle, which would have made it more comfortable when reaching over my shoulders. Handle kept cutting into my thumbs during use. But, overall a quality product. Would recommend.

I have long, naturally coarse hair and an oily scalp and I have tried for years to find a shampoo that wasn't irritating and a conditioner that didn't make my hair look dull. I've been using this product for 2 weeks now. And I can say my oily hair and scalp is well cleansed! Seems to bring out the color of my hair leaving it shiner, tangle-free and better managed. I tried to go "no poo" to reduce exposure to artificial ingredients. Unfortunately our hard water (even though it is filtered) didn't work well with the usual baking soda + apple cider vinegar combo. So, I started looking for a truly natural shampoo. NaturOli to the rescue.

If you are used to using regular shampoo, you will have a bit of a tough time transitioning to NaturOli as it won't get all foamy like you're used to. I've used this product 3 times so far, as it does say it is a weekly mask. First off, it says to rub it in your hands until it turns green well I rubbed and rubbed and it didn't turn green, not even light green but white. So right off the bad I didn't know if I was "activating the enzymes" as the bottle says. So I applied the product which is easy enough. I didn't see any major difference, but the next day my face was red, itchy and flaking. It might be my skin getting used to it, but even after the redness and flaking have passed my skin looks no better than before I used it.

Would I recommend this product, NO. But other Bliss products have been better to me.

I have used this product now once or twice a week for the past 2 months and it sucks! There are 2 tubes (one with blue stuff and one with a yellow cream) and they're suposed to combine together to perform some magical cleaning on your pores. The yellow will not come out and even when I figured out how to plug the blue so that only yellow comes out it does nothing for my skin! If anything I think it actually clogged my poers. $50 well spent. Boo!

Mode de Vie Seamud soap WAS the 10 year must have soap for me...the Holy Grail of soaps...but when it fell off the face of the planet a couple of years ago I was forced to search out other alternatives. I have tried 7 brands and Borghese Fango Active Mud soap is my top favorite. DOES WONDERS for the skin and now cannot live without. Fab at removing every stitch of makeup from your gorgeous face and deep cleansing toxins out of your all-over-body skin when bathing. It truly keeps my skin looking fresh, taut and AGELESS. No more blemishes, rosacea, upper arm bumps, or fine line and wrinkles with this product. Truly miraculous, but then again isn't nature's deep cleansing mud always going to be better than a man-made concoction found on a drugstore or beauty store shelf.

PROS: Love the jumbo size bar. 3x the size of regular size soap, therefore lasting a very long time. BONUS!

CONS: Only complaint is the unisex targeted fragrance. Would prefer LUXURY fragrance like the brand name would allude to...at least add a slight, rich cologne scent to it...PPPPLEEEASE. Does not smell of mud. Something else strange is in it that makes me scrunch my nose up while in the shower, but if u can ignore that and use a body spray of your preference post shower like I do, the results are TOTALLY worth it. Oh and I have ordered this more than once and it is brown, not green, like in photo.

As a man reviewing this product, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like it in the shower as daily bar soap. My problem is that I get dry and itchy too easily. I sometimes get irritation underarm with cheap store brand soaps. Luxury products like this one tend to minimize that. It's a small indulgence to use great products in the bath. I'm now on my fourth bar of this item. It's a bit expensive but lasts a long time. Nice lather too. Clean feel. Sensible scent. Very light sillage after an hour unlike some others that nearly burn the nose (think some German products). And I like the dark green color and finish out of the box too. My water is not soft or hard, but something in the middle. This is not a harsh soap. I give it a midpoint rating on the rating scale of gentleness to aggressiveness. It seems just right for my skin. This soap leaves skin feeling good, not overly soaped nor perfumed. The scent is clean and perhaps unusual and leaning toward earthy, but not perfumed, floral, chemical, or something else undesirable. My nose picks up a bass note which I believe to be best described as mixed herbal and maybe a hint of green cypress and cellery (but not easy to name). Like most people, I rotate soaps and look forward to the changes.

There is only one small issue with it. Even though my hands are large, the bar is also very large and heavy. If you drop it, and you probably will, it better not be on a toe. That could break a bone and result in a trip to the ER. I cannot be the only person with this concern. The mass is 325 g = 11.5 ounces. Perhaps something around 200 g would be the ideal size, in my humble opinion. I cannot speak to the marketing concept for the huge bar size. Regardless, the bar was consistent from the first through the last use.

I don't do reviews very often, but this product is very good and thought I should share. I've had mild acne for 25 years, nothing horrible, but have a zit or two on my face more often than zit-free face, and occasionally they are bad. Finally went to a dermatologist, who recommended this product. WOW!!!! Really is fantastic at cleaning without overly drying out skin. Seems like it almost "lifts" blackheads out of the skin, though I'm sure that tecnhically it does not do that. At any rate, couldn't be happier with the product, and along with zit cream, has vanquished my mild acne.

Glytone is the best face wash I've ever used. I won't go anywhere without it. My skin looks beautiful and I've been using it for a month...It makes it soft and blemish free. I'm also using the ROC cream under my eyes for creases. I'm 29 and realized I looked 40...these two products together have brought me back down to people thinking I'm 25.

my derm md recommanded this face wash it along with some other Rx products. it does dry my skin out a little but nothing a little daily moisturizer can't fix. also love it because of the exfolitating properties it has without the sandpaper effect.

This stuff works great. It doesn't make my face feel tight or still dirty. It washes away quickly. You can feel it working to make your skin look better. It foams really well. I really like the smell of it, too. The pump works nicely and delivers a good amount of foam. Glad I tried it. Boots products never let me down.

I have very, very sensitive skin. I break out from pretty much everything and have been using Cetaphyl for years per my Dermatologists request. I just hate Cetaphyl so much because it tends to dry me out so bad that I wind up with patches of white, dried out skin. Flaky, white skin is NOT cool. So, I decided to go on a quest to find a substitute that would work well with my skin. I went through dozens of brands. I literally spent hundreds of dollars at my local Sephora trying out cleansers but everything I wound up trying would break me out. I would get those really nasty, under-the-skin cystic lumps that hurt really bad until they subside or until I squeezed the life out of them (which is a bad thing to do!) and nothing was working with my skin!!

I'm very combination in skin type-which is the biggest issue for me. I have dry spots but the Italian in me also causes my skin to get very oily after a few hours into the day. It doesn't take a lot to get your skin clean but I am a male and I don't wear make-up so I am not sure how it applies to the removal of such products. I love this as my general "GO-TO" cleanser for morning and evening. It's refreshing and leaves my skin totally clean and without ANY irritation. No acne. No dry spots. Nada! Just clean skin!

Unfortunately, my local Target has stopped selling this and I can only find it online and shipping costs bump it up in price so high that I am now trying to substitute it. I am trying CeraVe Foaming cleanser right now and it is working out great. But, I adore this cleanser and wish I could find it in stores near me. :(

I had high hopes for this product, but it caused my face to break out right after I started using it. I suggest that you try Biore's Foaming Face Wash instead. It's my go-to cleanser it's cheaper than this one, and it doesn't do hideous things to your skin.

Definitely like this product and would buy it again. It does just what it says "intense hydration". I just wash my face and put the mask on for 5 minutes and rinse. Works great.
