I wanted to add exfoliation to my skin care routine, so I began looking for a simple scrub. My main criterion was that the scrub NOT contain any "acne-fighting" chemicals like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Those chemicals, ironically, perpetuated my acne now that I'm using products without them, I'm virtually acne-free. Anyway, this was the first scrub I found that fit the bill, and it was inexpensive, so I bought it. I fell in love with it after one use! It smells a bit odd to me, but has a refreshing tingling/cooling sensation. From what I've read, this feeling occurs because it contains menthol. My skin is sensitive so I thought menthol might be too harsh, but it's actually fine for me; if you have SUPER sensitive skin you may want to try a different product. I also love the tiny exfoliating beads, because I feel that they enable me to be gentle with my skin but still slough off dead cells. I use this once every other week, or maybe once a week. I don't know from personal experience if it would be ok to use daily. Anyway, I like it give it a try!

I happened along this product while shopping at a local organic grocery in Sebastopol, CA. Since I had recently learned about the harmful effects of SLS and parabens, I was eager to try it out. I have color treated hair, so chose the Rose and Chamomile Shampoo and Conditioner for Color Treated Hair.

I am happy with the way it lathers, as many shampoos without SLS don't seem to lather very well. It cleans and leaves my hair looking and feeling soft.

I also did my own informal hair loss count, and find that I have 90% less hairs in my brush since I began using this product. I would recommend this product very highly. I have tried several other brands, but this is the product I will continue to use!

I am delighted with this shampoo! First of all, it smells wonderful. Yes, it's got a strong scent, but unlike most fruit-y and over-scented hair care products, this is predominantly the natural smell of roses. Not a perfumery rose, but a "real" rose, much like the wild rugosa rose we have on the coast of Maine. I happen to love it, so I was practically intoxicated with it when I first tried this shampoo.

It lathers up very well. This was a surprise because I've been a bit unhappy with the lackluster lather of most natural shampoos.

It rinsed out well, left my hair clean but not dried out, and shinier than it had been. I have a lot of gray coming in at my roots and color processed ends not a great combo! this shampoo made my fly-away hair look and feel so much nicer. It's a winner! I like it so much I threw away my other shampoos. I kid you not.

I have used the Protective Shampoo for color treated hair and like it's performance. It does not strip hair of color and it gently cleans without drying hair. I do think the rose & chamomile is a fragrance that is strong but nice. I could not continually use it like I can the lavender, though, because the fragrance is so distinctive and not as pleasing/calming as the lavender.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Fresh is a company I have been interested in for awhile. I first fell in love with their product line when I used the Brown Sugar Body Polish. I knew this was a product that would become a beauty staple around my house. I have since purchased several other items from Fresh, especially from their skincare, bodycare and fragrance lines. I find that Fresh Soy Formula f21c Face Cleanser is one of their best products. And the price is right, especially given the cost of some of the high quality face cleansers on the market.

This unique face cleansing gel is fabulous. The texture is somewhat unusual. It is a clear gel and feels very slippery when applied. The gel foams, ever-so-slightly, almost like a lotion, and feels great on dry skin. The face cleanser does an excellent job of removing makeup and leaving the skin soft, comfortably clean and glowing. It also tones the skin, revives the eyelid area and conditions the eyelashes in the process. What could be better? And all in one single product!

For the winter months, this is a perfect compromise between the fresh, clean feeling of a gel and the comfortable, soothing feeling of a lotion. It is my normal-to-dry skin's new favorite cleanser. I have combination skin and used this product only about 3 days before my oilier areas completely broke out. I've noticed all the rave reviews are from people will sensitive or dry skin. On my drier areas the cleanser worked greatbut this is not a good cleanser for normal, oily, or combination skin.

(Tangent: I recommend PeterThomasRoth Combination Skin Cleansing Gel for anyone with combination skin. I've never found anything that strikes such a great balance.)

But when I was at the Fresh store and the saleswoman had me sample this product, I was thrilled. I don't usually spend tons of money on products, but she assured me that the tube goes a very long way, and that you only need a small amount on your fingertips. I was inspired to buy a tube for myself and a tube for my cousin as a birthday gift. When she used it the first time, she called me (at midnight) to tell me that she felt like she had just washed her face "in silk." It really is quite great. Other things you should know it smells a lot like cucumber, and this product does not create a lather.

Other Fresh prodcuts I've tried and love so far:

Sugar Lip Balm this is really good and long-lasting and smells good enough to eat...but please don't.

Sake Hair Cream okay all you frizzy heads out there, this stuff works really well (I don't know if you should use a cream if your hair is fine. I have super-thick hair the kind that stops hairdressers in their tracks when I sit in the chair). Moreover, it smells amazing. It's pricey, but the tube goes a long way.

I started using this about a week ago. Because the stuff is so spendy-esp. for cleanser that's on your face for a minute at most, I purchased the small "to go" size. Love. I have combo/sensitive skin and live in a hot, dry climate. I was a little wary because lately it's been super hot and my boyfriend doesn't believe in a/c, so I've been more greasy-faced. But this smells delish (very cucumber-y. Which reminds me of being a little kid, because I had a pet turtle who ate only cucumbers, but that's another story...) and feels so soothing going on. As others have said, it doesn't lather up, and I know that's just a wrong sensation for some people (including me sometimes). I haven't been more oily or broken out, rather, my skin feels more balanced--and looks more balanced, because it seems to soothe the redness that I sometimes get in splotches from who-knows-what. I feel sort of precious and pampered using this, which hopefully will continue to make me wash my face before bed! I look forward to my moments with this cleanser--and the 'to go' size is going to last a lot longer than your average trial size. I'll let you all know, though, that I don't wear make-up, so I can't tell you how it works on that (I would guess it does a good job) or how much more you might have to use.

Will splurge on full-sized next time.

Make-Up Remover Facial Wipes 40 ct. Pre moistened

These come with a warning about not getting into your eyes you have to flush with water should you do so. For something I thought would remove eye makeup...this makes the product useless to me. They are also paper thin and not very moist. I just ordered the Neutrogena cloths, as I should have in the first place.

The facial wipes are good. I wish each sheet was a little bigger I just use two sheets. I received the item quickly and as advertised.

Oxy Face Wash, Maximum, 6 oz.

For years, I used ProActiv. However, over time, it has become less effective in clearing my skin. And, I recently developed terrible acne along my jawline. I tried several other acne cleansers but nothing seemed to really work. So, I decided to try Oxy. It cleared my skin in less than three days! I love it. And, it is much cheaper than ProActiv! Warning: this is NOT for anyone with sensitive skin.

I've suffered with very severe back acne since adolescence. Not a few blemishes, not a few whiteheads. We're talking disfiguring, scarring, ugly, embarrassed to wear a tank top, bleeding/weeping type stuff. Nothing helped. Benzoyl Peroxide 10% of any type works and this is no different. I have mild to moderate acne. While it isn't terrible, it is stubborn to treatment. Many dermatologist visits have yielded nothing but peeled skin and frustration. I have tried almost every over the counter face wash in the acne aisle. I stumbled upon Oxy when I ran out of Clearasil face wash (which did nothing for me), and it was reasonably priced, so I picked it up. The consistency of this face wash is very watery almost milky. It takes a little getting used to because it doesn't really lather up very much, which is a sign that it doesn't have added chemicals. It did not sting, and was pleasant enough to wash with. It easily rinsed off and I did not notice any bleaching of hair or towels. Initially, this made my skin very dry and I needed to use a much thicker moisturizer, but the results have definitely been worth it. While my acne is still present, it is reduced, and the overall tone of my skin looks better. The dryness has subsided, and I will continue to use this face wash in the hopes that it continues working even better with time. I would recommend this to anyone, but do find a thick, non-comodogenic moisturizer for afterwards!

I've found salicylic acid to be pretty useless for treating my mild inflammatory acne so I was delighted to finally stumble across Oxy Face Wash in the store one day. I bought it solely because it was the only face wash I could find with benzoyl peroxide as the active ingredient, and it has turned out to be a great product. Though it hasn't completely eliminated my acne, it has definitely reduced the frequency and severity of my breakouts.

The wash is a thin white liquid with a kind of runny consistency, but since it lathers up and is easy to apply I don't consider that a problem. In fact, the watery texture makes it much easier to rinse off than other washes I've tried, such as Clean & Clear Cleanser which is more paste-like. I also appreciate that it doesn't really have any odor or perfume.

I noticed that some reviewers mentioned it making their faces dry, but I've actually found this to be the least drying treatment out of all the BP products I've tried. I put it on in the shower every morning and my face always feels clean and soft after rinsing it off. It's important to keep in mind that this is the "maximum" benzoyl peroxide dose so if you haven't been using BP on your skin before you may want to start out with a 2% treatment or just use this every other day to let your skin acclimate and avoid irritation and peeling. Additionally, using a non-greasy moisturizer is a critical part of any acne treatment regimen, and that will of course also help with dryness if it occurs.

As with any BP treatment, this stuff WILL bleach everything it touches, including towels and clothing. Even when I went to great lengths to avoid using colored towels around my face, the residue from my fingers was enough to discolor them. If this is something you care about then you should probably just use white towels.

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads, 28-Count Pads (Pack of 3)

This product is very convenient. I don't know about you, but I sometimes have to force myself to wash my face, especially at night. At times it seems like too much of a process! With this product, there is virtually no prep involved besides grabbing the tub and wetting your face (even less if you wash your face in the shower). For being a non-soap product, the pads foam up very nicely (you may not even need to use water although it's probably better to dilute the solution a little). I use the smooth side first to remove my makeup and clean my face and then flip the pad over and use the textured side to exfoliate. This is my favorite side! I believe exfoliating is so important! It does a great job. You can tell this product is deep cleaning because your face tingles not an uncomfortable tingle though (not for me anyway). After I'm done, I rinse my face with luke-warm water and pat my skin dry. My skin feels so clean. I follow cleansing with using witch hazel as a toner and extra virgin coconut oil as a moisturizer.

In the past few weeks that I've been using the pads (once in the morning and once at night), my face feels softer and my skin is definitely brighter and more radiant. Just like it says imagine that! I have added this product to my daily routine.

My skin is fairly sensitive and I was nervous about changing over to a new product without a transition. I read some reviews where people experienced an allergic type reaction. I did not experience this at all. It's possible they were allergic to one of the ingredients, or they scrubbed too hard, or they didn't rinse the cleanser off completely.

Another thing I really like about this set up is although it's more expensive than buying a container of liquid cleanser, there's really no guessing involved. When using the liquid cleansers, I sometimes use too much (which ends up being wasted by going down the drain) or not enough (which is a pain to have to get more while your face is soaped up). It should be noted, this product won the Allure's Editor's Choice Award!

At 41, I don't really have skin that needs lots of moisturizing and delicate care but I still have some adult acne that's too sensitive for the Clearasil crowd. This Aveeno line has been amazing for my skin and the Positively Radiant cleansing pads are a huge part of it. The overall blotchiness of my skin is gone and now I'm hoping with further use, my little sunspot freckles will go away.

I've been using the pads now for a month along with one of the Positively Radiant moisturizers and have not had one single breakout. The cleansing pads are gentle, but take off makeup completely and leave my face feeling very clean and soft, but not sticky or greasy and not at all dried out. The first few times I used them, I wondered if I'd even need a moisturizer, they left my face feeling so soft.

There are two drawbacks to the pads, not enough to drop them from five stars, but things I'd change if I could. There are only 28 pads per container. That's two weeks worth, which ends up being a little expensive after a while. And the exfoliating side of the pad could be a little more.. exfoliating. Just a little bit. It's nice that it's gentle, but I do wish there was a bit more scrubbing action.

I highly recommend these!

I have been using this product for six months now, and don't know how I lived without it.

I decided to try this product to save some money -I had been using Clinique and Prescriptives cleansers and exfoliators. This product is a fraction of the price, and does a better job of cleaning.

The cleansing pads are pre-moistened and all 28 pads retain their mositure in packaging. The pads have two sides: one side is a soft, chamois like side. The other is a rougher side for exfoliation. I start with the soft side, then complete with the exfoliating side.

I wear a water-resitant foundation, so I need a cleanser that does the job. The proof that the product cleans is that when I complete my cleansing ritual with with astringent, the cotton ball is virtually clean. Plus, my skin really glows and is radiant.

There is a fragrance, but it is light and unobtrusive. Note that the Postively Radiant line of mositurizers have a much heavier fragrance that did not appeal to me.

The only con I can think of is that the container is large, and the product only occupies about 3/4 of the jar. It could be made smaller.

I will continue to buy this product, and hope they never stop making it.

I'm 26, and I've been using Philosophy Purity face wash for six months with mixed results after a lifetime of blotchy, acne-prone combination skin. Well, for about a year my skin has been having acne flare-ups and i'm in my late 20's. I didn't know what to do because I hadn't had any acne this stubborn in a long time! My T zone was terrible. I purchased this set because I am a huge fan of the face oasis moisturizer, love the eye hydrator and thought it might be fun to try the cleansing water again. I have to say, I am very impressed with the way these products work together.

Obviously this is not your tradition 3-step system (cleanse, tone, moisture or spot treat), nor is it advertised as such-but the products all have that ocean fresh scent and all work well together for my oily skin. The cleansing water does not make my skin overly sensitive so that I have to wait hours before applying a moisturizer. I colour my hair, wear it long (mid back) and have struggled with split ends for years. Every time I managed to get it to grow another inch, I had to have that inch cut off because of the split ends.

My story I was a tow head as a child with beautiful long blond hair that everyone admired. By Junior High I was already having problems. My hair has always been thin, wavy/curly, oily scalp and DRY, DRY, DRY everywhere else!!! Which, of course, I now contribute to cheap shampoo. Anyway, I am 35 now with color treated long blond hair and before I found Wen I was using the best shampoo I could afford and had to use tons of conditioner and leave-in. If I just blow dried my hair after all of that it would be a frizzy mess. So I would spray heat protectant and then straighten with a flat iron. It would look pretty good straight ironed but I had a TON of split ends no matter how many times I got it trimmed. My routine I use 4 pumps of the big bottle of Cucumber Aloe on the main part of my head. Lather it up with a little water and scrub, scrub, scrub my scalp. Then I rinse it really well with lukewarm water. Next, I use 2 more pumps of CA on my head again but this time add 2 pumps of Sweet Almond Mint on the rest of my hair, concentrating on the ends like a conditioner. I scrub again with a little water, comb through and clip to my head while I finish my shower (which includes the Lavender body creme heavenly!!) Then I rinse thoroughly and use cool water at the end for added shine. I use a little SAM as a leave in and then the SAM styling creme although I can't wait to try the CA version when this one runs out. Then I blow dry it on warm in sections with a boar bristle brush. I also oil my hair overnight at least once a week too. PERFECTION!!!

I first purchased a three pack of small bottles of Wen in different flavors: Almond Mint, Lavender, and Cucumber Aloe.

I have straight, fine hair and it had been looking a little dull and lifeless. I had stumbled across the infomercial and thought it was worth trying...I was thinking of trying a new shampoo anyway.

My initial reaction to the product was very positive. My hair looked shinier and healthier, and I had a lot less flyaways.

The negative was that the product seemed to weigh my hair down no matter how much I rinsed, and my hair got oily quickly, so I had to wash everyday instead of my normal every other day. The Cucumber Aloe seemed to have the least oily effect, and I liked it enough to invest the fifty bucks in a bigger bottle.

Now that I've been using it a total of about three months, I don't like it so much anymore. I feel like there's a build-up of oil on my scalp. The weather has turned warmer, so that might be adding to the oil as well. (Please note that I have never had an oily scalp or hair before.)

I think I'll put it away until winter returns.

I like the smell and tingle of the Wen Cucumber Aloe and it does a nice job of cleansing my hair. It was touted as being good for people with oily scalp and dry ends and I was hoping it would let me go an extra day or two without washing. I'm in love with the regular liquid Purity cleanser, so I thought I'd give these wipes a try. These wipes are awful. They leave a greasy feeling all over my face. I'm a new mom, so I thought this would be a quick way to wash my face. I just don't like them at all b/c my face ends up really shiny and tacky feeling. These are nothing like the regular cleanser. I'm just keeping them for a makeup remover before using cleanser and thats it. I'd say just stick with the regular liquid cleanser and don't waste your money on these.

I am a total wipe addict baby wipes, anti-bac wipes...you name it, I love them. I'm also totally lazy when it comes time to go to bed, and the whole face washing ritual is often too much. These seem like a perfect solution. However, my skin is significantly less happy with these than with the Purity wash. In fact, I find that my skin behaves much better with plain unscented baby wipes than with these. Having said that, everyone's skin is different, so maybe they'll work well for you! Jericho Dead Sea Mineral Mud Shampoo-10.1 Oz.

This shampoo smells really good and it makes my hair really soft! If my hair wasn't so damaged from coloring, I probably wouldn't need conditioner after using this shampoo. It has kind of a weird gelatinous consistency, though. If you're not careful, it will slip out the palm of your hand. I haven't used it enough times to determine if it's affecting my psoriasis, but it's still a good shampoo.

Again this delivered super fast. I really enjoyed this shampoo. Its different from what you're used to but it leaves your scalp and hair feeling refreshed. I felt like I was at the spa instead of at home and I didn't even have to pay spa price! If you're looking for something new I would recommend this product.

Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser, 16.9 Fluid Ounce

I have bad skin. I know, everyone says that... but I mean it. From age 14 to 22 I had acne and now (at age 28) I still battle pimples, large pores, and oily skin. Plus, I'm allergic to some random synthetic stuff (mostly in shampoos and conditioners) and allergic reactions have made my skin super sensitized. I'd nearly given up on anything that promised to reduce redness AND keep my skin clear. That was until I stumbled upon the UltraCalming line. However, at night, I skip the Dermalogica UltraCalming Barrier Repair, 1-oz (which I use in the mornings instead of the serum concentrate). I don't mind the smell, though it isn't flowery or necessarily pleasant (maybe a little astringent). This regimen has cleared up my skin (actually better than I expected considering how gentle the cleanser is) and almost totally evened out my skin tone (nearly ZERO rosacea!). I understand everyone is different and so would recommend purchasing the Dermalogica The Ultra Calming Treatment Kit 5 piece before investing in the full-size products. Or, if you're close to a Dermalogica salon or retailer, they're usually very generous with samples!

I love this cleanser. It's perfect for sensitive skin and I've tried everything. This gets all the makeup and dirt off in a gently and refreshing way. It's the best cleanser and I will definitely continue using it!

I just tried out this product, and I absolutely love it. I love it so much that I am actually writing a review on it.

The scent is manly without being overbearing. The bars have a slightly gritty texture that helps remove dead skin. It feels great on the face without leaving it dry. Leaves my skin very smooth (as advertised). I will never again look at a bottle of axe.

First of all, I have to say, with absolutely no embarassment, that I am the kind of gentleman that in the 1920's was called a " dandy " and earlier this century was labeled a " metrosexual ". I manicure my hands, my feet, and I use very expensive body lotion to keep my skin freh, moist and supple. I sue the best shampoo for my hair type that I can find at the best possible price so that my hair stays soft, shiny, manageable and glistening. I sue the best toothpaste that will keep my mouth fresh and my teeth perfectly white. And on top of all of that, I am in constant need of a perfect bar of soap that will cleanse my body o the unfortunate malady that comes with being a human being: The fact that as living, breathing creatures with perspire, we give off odors, and ultimately we get DIRTY! To that effect, Dove Men's Deep Clean body bar goes a long way to doing everything it says.

First of all, the one thing I don't really like about this bar is the scent. It is citrusy, a heavy accord of lemony-grapefruit really wafts through the bar but when you are actually in the shower and you're cleaning yourself with the bar the scent is uplifting and actually smells nice. The bar gives off a rich, creamy lather that immediately starts to soften and moisturize your skin, and wih repaated uses, and I mean EVERY DAY FOR AT LEAST A MONTH, YOUR SKIN WILL BE BABY-BUTT SOFT. I bough5 an 8-pack of these bars at Wal-Mart because it is a personal policy of mine to never buy a product BLINDLY that I have never tried before at a price that I consider expensive, but when I went home and used it for the first time I was hooked and now this is my go-to, everyday cleansing bar. I tend to spend a lot of money on quality grooming products and I have spent lots and lots of money on superior bars, which have more moisturizers and indeed are better than this one but for the price ad value involved you cannot go wrong with this bar. Dove consistently manufactures quality bath products, I particuarly like their White? Pink Nutrium bars from a few years ago, and now that they're getting into Men' care thier first foray into this growing market is a good attempt which I hope will be successful for them. Apart from the heavy grapefruit smell, I give the bar 4 stars for the moisturizing properties, how your skin feels after you dry yourself off,and how clean you are and how pleasant you smell after you use this bAR. It is a good buy, go out and try it.

I was very disappointed in this product, especially after all the hype. The biggest problem is that it is NOT a good value. The "bar" is significantly smaller than the box. The softness makes it not last very well.

This could be tolerated if the product was really good. But, it is average at best. I prefer an unscented store brand similar to regular Dove to the Dove for Men Product. Better price. Longer lasting. Same basic results.

Dove for years has been great for producing soap that is healthy for the skin. But now that they have advanced in their products, Dove's Deep Clean Soap for Men is the best soap for your skin on the market. Just give it a try, and watch the way your skin feels after a wash. This is a very good soap and cleanse excellent. It's really big unlike some other brands and it leaves you feeling just really clean; especially with the micro-beads.However, I have no idea what the people saying "it has a nice scent" or "it's too strong" or "it's too strong" are talking about. It has NO scent whatsoever if you take a big whiff, you might get a little something but overall there's no scent.
