Lily's Organic - Seaweed Balancing Facial Cleanser

I bought this and for the price, it's a small amount but that's not the main concern, the real problem is that your skin doesn't feel clean after using it. It's a nice product to use before or after a real cleanser, but alone, it doesn't foam or leave your face feeling clean. I really wanted to love this product because the ingredients are wonderful and I like what the company stands for but I wouldn't purchase it again. After I bought this I had to buy another cleanser, one that cleans, for another $27. Considering it's such a small quantity, it will probably last forever because it's been sitting on the shelf unused.

This is hands-down my favorite skin cleanser when my skin feels a bit "clogged" or acne-prone, and I used the Sensitive Cleanser at other times. I've used Lily Organics (formerly Lily of Colorado) for over 25 years. They make their products by hand using only organic ingredients, many grown on their own organic farm. I cannot say enough about how great this cleanser is. I use it as a makeup remover with a cotton ball on dry skin (not on eyes), then wash with it with warm water. Absolutely cleans the skin perfectly. Plus it's all organic and pure.

I will not use products that contain synthetic ingredients or ingredients I cannot pronounce. Lily Organics are the best hands-down as far as I'm concerned. I have tried hundreds of products and dozens of organic skincare lines and this is the best as far as I'm concerned. I have extremely sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and I can get acne sometimes, too. Lucky me. I have never had a problem when using their entire skin care line. When I feel that my skin is sensitive, I'll use the sensitive cleanser. When I feel a pimple might be coming on--usually caused by makeup--I cleanse with the Seaweed Cleanser and it goes away before getting out of control.

I highly recommend all of their products. They don't have dozens and dozens of products which I appreciate because it has made it much easier to select the products that work for my skin type. Though I've tried almost everything in their line and they have all been superior in my opinion.

I know that Lily Organics are not well known but their products are as good as any out there and more affordable.

So I'm kind of a face wash junkie. I picked this up on a whim because I'd just run out of my last cleanser. I was intrigued by the exotic yet natural ingredients and also attracted to the fact that it is cruelty-free and vegan (yup, that's kind of must for me!).

I've been using this wash once a day all week and I'm not only amazed at how awesome it cleanses, but at how it doesn't dry my skin out at all! I've been trying to find a facewash for my acne prone skin for a very long time! Everything I used (African black soap,grandma lye soap and a million other acne washes) broke me out. I've been using this face wash since March 11. Today is March 27 and so far I haven't had a pimple from it and the ones I do have are actually drying up. Usually it takes a new product a few days before I break out, but not with this product.

I've also started using giovanni's moisturizer as well, but I've only been using it for two days. Too soon to write a review, but so far it hasn't broke me out.

I love Giovanni hair and skin products. The only the product I do not like is Giovanni's Chocolate scrub. I stopped using Proactiv and switched to this Purifying Facial Cleanser. I started using it after having samples of all 3 steps. I have not went back to Proactiv. Recently, Proactiv had a recall on their face cleanser so I am definitely not using their face wash again. I love the way Giovanni's Purifying Facial Cleanser smells and makes my face feel. The product is awesome and if you can buy at your local Walmart for a cheaper price.

I've been looking for something that will help clear up my clogged pores without any salicylic acid in it for about a month now. I'm pregnant, so have to avoid a lot of common skin care ingredientsmaking it tough to find products that seem worth buying. I went to Sephora, and ultimately decided that the few selections I had that I could actually use were entirely too expensive. My problem spots on my nose and chin that had the most clogged pores and whiteheads looked immensely better. I used the moisturizer, and aaahhhh nice and smooth.

I have been using this for 4 months now. I use it twice a day, once in the shower in the morning and then at night before bed. I really do not feel clean without using it anymore. I'm not sure if it does anything but I just feel better and the face has stayed clear.

Phytoclear works great as a spot treatment and I have even put it on ingrown hairs, yes it works. Reduces inflamation (swelling), redness on the skin surface and even caused my skin to recover quicker from a breakout with the use of Cosmedix clarity. Both are good products to use together. The Phytoclear is a little sappy and sticky almost like tree sapp, with a nice fresh strong sent. This stuff works great, apply it at morning, night, middle of the day, it will do the job and absorbs into the skin as if not even there. A little goes a long ways for spot treatment, but if you plan on applying to the entire face, I'm not sure if a bottle will last a 1-2 months, your guess is as good as mine. I will be buying more though.

I have used this product for several years and get many complements on how good my skin looks. If you have slightly oily skin, I highly recommend. Keeps occasional breakouts at bay. I wear very little makeup now. Couldn't do that before Clarity. I am 53.

I love this product and have used it about 5 years or so. It is yellow so you must rub it in. I think it has Sacylic acid in it, so it is not good for very dry skin. I wear it every day and alternate with Refine at night. I am 52 and have combination skin. I wear very little makeup because this keeps my skin looking nice.

Before I discovered this product, I was already very happy with Ahava 3in1 Mineral Toning Cleanser as my make up remover because it really removes all my make up especially my eye make up and most importantly, it doesn't sting. Buf-Puf Back Scrub Body Sponge with Reusable Handle (Pack of 4)

I'm not an acne-covered teenager, but, as a 30+ woman, I was tired of occasional breakouts on my face and back.

My doctor recommended this particular product because you can (and should) replace the sponge head periodically, thus reducing bacteria to re-infect oneself and lead to pimples. She told me to use it with an anti-bacterial body wash.

It works just fine as a back scrubber. This would not be appropriate for very sensitive skin as it is an exfoliant type brush--similar to a loofah or those round body scrubbers that always come bundled with body wash gift packs.

When you've tossed the old sponge to replace it, you are left with a stick covered with little pointy barbs. That's what the new sponge will stick to. Changing it isn't hard, but, occasionally, a washcloth or other item near the brush will catch on a barb that doesn't get full covered by your new sponge. This isn't a big issue, but it could snag something. Be careful with that problem, and you should enjoy this brush.

I've had my handle for about 2 years now. It is sturdy. I've been through many, many sponge heads. They are tricky to find at my local grocery and pharmacy, so Amazon availability is really great for me.

...and it has paid off. I'm 59 years old now and still get compliments on my skin. I began using the Buf-Puf facial sponge daily around 1982. After a few months, I took an out of town trip and left the sponge at home. My skin continued to exfoliate on it own without the sponge! That to me was positive poof of the exfoliating properties of this sponge. I've been using it daily since and I don't leave town without it. When I discovered the Buf-Puf body sponge, I began using that, too. I find much younger women listening attentively when I tell them about my simple skin care regimen which consists only of daily Buf-Puf use with regular soap and inexpensive skin lotion from the grocer. You don't need astringents, expensive lotions, chemical exfoliants, or masques. And my great skin is not hereditary (my five younger sisters choose to not use the sponge and don't have my skin). Buf-Puf doesn't get all the credit, though. Healthy eating (plenty of veggies with a moderate amount of meat protein and fat) and not smoking help. But I probably still wouldn't have as great skin at this age without exfoliation.

You can use the rougher side (the color side) of the Buf-Puf bath sponge to keep your elbows and knees silky smooth (it works). I used to wish the Buf-Puf sponges were less expensive and in the early years I tried less expensive store brands. The less expensive sponges are not only difficult to find on a consistent basis, they're not as effective and don't last as long. I now realize that $10 or $12 a month for great skin is not expensive (I use both a facial and a bath sponge for an entire month and switch out to new ones at the beginning of each month). Other skin care regimens would cost more (masques, astringents, chemical exfoliants, etc.). Not only do you get the great skin, you don't have to take extra steps for it (as with masques, astringents, and chemical exfoliants). By the way, I use the Buf-Puf sponges (one facial, one body) INSTEAD OF bath cloths, not in addition to bath cloths.

If you're using a Buf-Puf sponge for the first time, don't scrub hard. Your skin will need a few days or so to get use to the abrasion. And as it does, you'll unconsciously increase the pressure. Your skin may feel a little sensitive at first (a lot if you scrub hard), but it will acclimate.

Also, this sponge is available without the handle. It's easier to use without the handle and I rarely do, and even then only to get to the unreachable part of my back.

Finally, it's never too late to begin exfoliating. So, if you're older and want to improve your skin, it's not too late to begin exfoliating and removing dead skin cells to reveal the smooth new cells underneath.

The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment 1.0 fl oz

It's nice to have another alternative to Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid, or even Sulfur. The mainstream products for acne treatments have them. If you read the labels for active ingredients, you'll realize that bottles ranging from affordable to expensive will have the exact same thing in them or at the very least the same % of benzoyl or SA. My skin is extremely sensitive, but is also oily, photosensitive, acne prone, and I've found I can't really used the aforementioned acne fighting additives. I used this product years ago, before they discontinued and revamped it. I was extremely upset that they would do that. The original was (and is still in comparison) a great product. The original was also cheaper and lasted longer (using less). Although it's not as good, this still works kinda. I use this twice a day instead of just at night to help control oil. I use a different, less expensive mattifying lotion, than the one that goes along in the same kit as I found in combination their mattifier didn't work well for me. Overall, the product works to control oil, the packaging is nice, and it's a little overpriced for the size.

It is a good cleanser. I like its creamy texture and how my skin feels after. I have dry skin type, so this cleanser worked well for me: no dryness after washing the face.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off 100g/Made in Korea

I have tried many face scrubs, from the expensive department store brands to the the inexpensive ones available at drugstores. None of them left my face feeling so soft and polished as Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off.

I use this product once or twice per week, in between my make-up remover and foaming cleanser. I find that I have the best results if I dampen my face with warm water before applying this product. I then rub it in into my skin until most of the sugar is dissolved, focusing on my most troublesome areas, then rinse with warm water before proceeding with my cleanser. I find that my cleanser foams up and works much better after exfoliation. I then follow this up with my softener/toner and moisturizer.

I read many reviews on various beauty websites, both positive and negative, before deciding to give this a go. The most common complaints I've read is that the fragrance is unpleasant or that it left the skin feeling dry. I will try to address both of those points.

I personally like the fragrance it is very citrus-like... in a fresh way, not in a chemical household cleaner way. It is a strong fragrance, but it doesn't linger after the product is washed off. Since everyone has different reactions to fragrances, I can only offer this description you can decide if it is off-putting or not when you try it for yourself.

To those who complain that their skin felt dry afterwards, I would remind them that this is an exfoliating scrub, not a moisturizer. This product is meant to compliment your skin care routine, not to replace it. Anyone who ends their skin care routine with an exfoliating product should expect to have dry skin. You are sloughing off dead skin and the natural oils in your face are going to wash off with it. It is only natural that you should follow that up with a good moisturizer.

In all, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has struggled to find a facial exfoliation product they are truly happy with. You won't be disappointed!

Skin Food always makes great products, and this is no exception! It may seem similar to the Brazilian Black Sugar Scrub, but it is a bit different. This is not as oily as that one is, which means this doesn't spread quite as evenly or as easily, but that doesn't take away from the overall effectiveness of this product. It'll definitely scrub you clean!

It is a very runny texture, which makes it not easy to use. I also didn't feel like it did what the product claims to do. Used it a couple times and never tried it again.

Background: 29yrs old black female. 15+ year sufferer of moderate to severe acne, acne scaring and hyper-pigmentation. Skin type is very oily and acne prone. Tried OTC, Rx (to include Accutane), Lasers, Peels. Some were pretty affective but came with very severe side effects.

First, I want to express how excited I was about receiving this particular product because I've recently given up on spending THOUSANDS on dermatologist and aesthetician bills, prescription medications, cosmetic procedures, and expensive skin care products. Additionally, I recently discovered why most products just didn't seem to work for me irritating ingredients. So after researching every single ingredient in all of my Rx, skin care and hair car products, I had to toss out 98% of them. Additionally, I've been reading about more natural alternatives and ingredients that are equally beneficial for acne without all the harsh irritating effects. So again, I was especially excited to receive this product as I believed it contained a decent concentration level of vitamin B or at the very least enough of it WITHOUT any counterproductive ingredients.

Well so I thought...

Immediately after opening my package, I zoomed in on the ingredients and was very much disappointed. This product contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which is an ingredient used for its "lathering" effects. This stuff is in most skin care products, shampoos, clothing, and dish washing detergents. Well the problem is SLS "is one of the most irritating cleansing agents used in skin-care products" according to the European Journal of Dermatology and the American Journal of Contact Dermatitis. Sure some folks enjoy a nice lather and actually feel as though their skin isn't properly cleansed without it but the truth is that lather has nothing to do with cleansing. Sure some lathering cleanser removes excess oils but doesn't actually cleanse the skin. I have used many Neutrogena products (which are the WORST) that work up a good lather, only afterwards to use a toner, witch-hazel or alcohol and find globs of dirt and dead skin on the cotton swab.

To put SLS irritating effects in perspective, I switched to a shampoo containing zero sodium products and my seborrheic dermatitis is under control and my acne even showed some improvement. The shampoo also contains Tea Tree Oil which may have also contributed to my skin improvements. So, I knew I was on the right track with eliminating certain ingredients and incorporating more natural ones like the Tea Tree and Vitamin B3, to name a few.

Anyhow... I proceeded to use this product in spite of what I knew because I was so anxious to see the results of what the Vitamin B3 could deliver. Plus, I had two very large active nodule pimples near my temple that I was trying to rid myself of ASAP (this is actually an improvement considering prior to revamping my products regimen, I had 4 to 5 on any given day). The product instructions provided an alternate process to treat inflamed, nodule, and/or cystic type of acne which actually is pretty effective. It called for cutting out a small (smaller than thumb tip) corner of the pad, to slightly wet it and place on the pimple until dried, and then removing the pad and rinse. My nodule pimples were gone in 1.5 days which is an all time record. Not even injections from the dermatologist improved my large nodule pimples that quickly. For this reason alone is why I gave this product 3 stars!

So after seeing these results, I thought for sure I could suck up the irritating effects of SLS if the vitamin B3 could improve my acne that quickly. Well, this pad has so much lathering ingredients in it that I had to cut it in half (original size is about 2 x 3 inch rectangle flat, textured swab) which is already very small. It still produced a rich lather and after rinsing my face, I had a white film/residue on my face. Whether this is the SLS or Vitamin B3, I have no idea but I suspect it's the SLS because it broke me out with a gazillion small closed comedones over 90% of my face. However, zero nodule or cystic acne.

Simply, I would recommend this product for spot treatment, especially for nodule/cystic type acne. I would not recommend using this as a facial cleansing and especially not using it twice a day as recommended by the manufacturer. What would be a blast is if the manufacturer would update their ingredients to exclude the SLS and other sodium ingredients within it. Then I bet this stuff would fly off the shelves! And I would certainly give it a 5 star but for now, I think 3 is appropriate.

My 17-year-old son had had a pretty bad case of standard teenage acne vulgaris for a couple of years. It wasn't the sort of awful acne that you know will result in lifelong pockmarks, but he always had a fair number of angry looking pimples at any one time. He'd gone through the standard over-the-counter medications, as well as some prescription lotions, ointments, and oral antibiotics. Nothing seemed to do much good, and a friend of my wife suggested Accutane -an expensive and very powerful oral retinoid with some horrendous potential side-effects (depression, liver damage, etc.). Since payment for the Accutane (at $400/month + frequent visits to the dermatologist to monitor side effects) would have come out of my pocket, and since my son was very reluctant to take the product, I decided to do some research before jumping in. In the course of that research I came across positive study info about the successful use of topical nicotinamide (also called niacinamide, and related to Vitamin B3 or niacin) in treating acne.

I figured this non-prescription treatment might be worth a shot before resorting to Accutane, but when I searched on Amazon, nearly all the niacinamide products were oral (about which I'd read nothing) and the few available niacinamide gels or ointments were being marketed as anti-aging, anti-wrinkle products, not acne treatments. The sole exception was Niapads, which had lots of positive Amazon reviews, although a majority of these reviews seemed to deal with adult acne rather than the more standard teenage variety my son was suffering from. So I placed an order, which was very promptly filled and delivered (this company has a very high level of customer service, with same-day or next-day shipping on every order I've placed thus far).

At first my son didn't really like the Niapads. He didn't care for the perfumed smell (he's a 17-year-old boy) and he found they irritated his face. Based on the Amazon reviews I'd read (several of which noted the same initial reactions), I urged him to keep using them for the full month, and he was willing to give it his best shot in order to avoid the Accutane. At the end of the month, he asked me to go ahead and order another pack -the irritation had subsided, he'd gotten used to the smell, and though his acne was still there, it didn't seem quite as "angry" as it had a month earlier.

It's been about 6 months now and my son's skin looks the best it has in years. Yes, he will occasionally get a pimple, but he no longer has those outbreaks that are what I think of as acne. His face looks clean and clear. So all in all, I would recommend Niapads without any hesitation.

I'm currently on my second set of Niapads. I'm almost 30 with an oily, acne-prone complexion that gets worse depending on my hormonal cycle. I only use one Niapad a day and not the two that they recommend (but I will start using 2/day now). My acne break outs have been greatly reduced and my skin is much softer. I still break out, but I sleep with either side of my face against a pillow every night (it's hard to break that habit).

I read another review that mentioned applying the Niapad at night and NOT rinsing it off, I followed that advice and really think it made a difference. The very first night I used this product I had 3 fairly big pimples and 1 cystic-type one, the next morning they had all come to a 'head' and by the morning after that they were well on their way to clearing up, which would normally have been at least another week. I have accepted that I will never have a perfect complexion but Niapads do make a difference.
