Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Fresh is a company I have been interested in for awhile. I first fell in love with their product line when I used the Brown Sugar Body Polish. I knew this was a product that would become a beauty staple around my house. I have since purchased several other items from Fresh, especially from their skincare, bodycare and fragrance lines. I find that Fresh Soy Formula f21c Face Cleanser is one of their best products. And the price is right, especially given the cost of some of the high quality face cleansers on the market.

This unique face cleansing gel is fabulous. The texture is somewhat unusual. It is a clear gel and feels very slippery when applied. The gel foams, ever-so-slightly, almost like a lotion, and feels great on dry skin. The face cleanser does an excellent job of removing makeup and leaving the skin soft, comfortably clean and glowing. It also tones the skin, revives the eyelid area and conditions the eyelashes in the process. What could be better? And all in one single product!

For the winter months, this is a perfect compromise between the fresh, clean feeling of a gel and the comfortable, soothing feeling of a lotion. It is my normal-to-dry skin's new favorite cleanser. Soy Face Cleanser contains rose extract, cornflower extract, glycerin, mallow extract, chamomile extract, ginseng, aloe, soybean powder, soybean protein, borage seed oil, cucumber extract, vitamin A, vitamin E and gentle cleansing agents.

I cannot recommend Fresh skin and body products enough and the Fresh Soy Formula Face Cleanser is a winner!

I have combination skin and used this product only about 3 days before my oilier areas completely broke out. I've noticed all the rave reviews are from people will sensitive or dry skin. On my drier areas the cleanser worked greatbut this is not a good cleanser for normal, oily, or combination skin.

(Tangent: I recommend PeterThomasRoth Combination Skin Cleansing Gel for anyone with combination skin. I've never found anything that strikes such a great balance.)

But when I was at the Fresh store and the saleswoman had me sample this product, I was thrilled. I don't usually spend tons of money on products, but she assured me that the tube goes a very long way, and that you only need a small amount on your fingertips. I was inspired to buy a tube for myself and a tube for my cousin as a birthday gift. When she used it the first time, she called me (at midnight) to tell me that she felt like she had just washed her face "in silk." It really is quite great. Other things you should know it smells a lot like cucumber, and this product does not create a lather.

Other Fresh prodcuts I've tried and love so far:

Sugar Lip Balm this is really good and long-lasting and smells good enough to eat...but please don't.

Sake Hair Cream okay all you frizzy heads out there, this stuff works really well (I don't know if you should use a cream if your hair is fine. I have super-thick hair the kind that stops hairdressers in their tracks when I sit in the chair). Moreover, it smells amazing. It's pricey, but the tube goes a long way.

I started using this about a week ago. Because the stuff is so spendy-esp. for cleanser that's on your face for a minute at most, I purchased the small "to go" size. Love. I have combo/sensitive skin and live in a hot, dry climate. I was a little wary because lately it's been super hot and my boyfriend doesn't believe in a/c, so I've been more greasy-faced. But this smells delish (very cucumber-y. Which reminds me of being a little kid, because I had a pet turtle who ate only cucumbers, but that's another story...) and feels so soothing going on. As others have said, it doesn't lather up, and I know that's just a wrong sensation for some people (including me sometimes). I haven't been more oily or broken out, rather, my skin feels more balanced--and looks more balanced, because it seems to soothe the redness that I sometimes get in splotches from who-knows-what. I feel sort of precious and pampered using this, which hopefully will continue to make me wash my face before bed! I look forward to my moments with this cleanser--and the 'to go' size is going to last a lot longer than your average trial size. I'll let you all know, though, that I don't wear make-up, so I can't tell you how it works on that (I would guess it does a good job) or how much more you might have to use.

Will splurge on full-sized next time.

I have been using the lip balm for a while and came across a Fresh store ... I went in to kill some time and came out with products that have made me like my skin again! I have sensitive skin and I'm prone to rashes and bumps not with this product. My skin looks and feels more hydrated, soft, smooth and very even. No more worry about dry patches and discoloration.

Olivella Face & Body Soap Bath Soaps

Italian olive oil is a decadent pleasure. This lovely soap has all the wonderful emolient qualities of that wonderful olive oil. The description of the product neglected to mention if this soap was scented. I'm delighted to say that it is. I'm not sure what the scent is from but it is lovely. A great soap for showering. Worth the price!

I have used olive oil bar soap for years. I wanted to try this liquid soap because it's less messy. Unfortunately, "You can't have your cake and eat it too." Olive oil bar soap is nothing but olive oil and a bit of fragrance. This liquid is full of chemicals including heavy, artificial fragrance. If you want pure, this isn't it. Stick with the bars.

I tried this as a replacement for my soap in the shower. The smell is overwhelming and it doesn't suds up well in the shower. I did not notice a difference after the shower with my skin. Felt the same as if I had used regular bar soap with strong lingering smell.

I discovered this maybe about 6-7 years ago and have used it steady for the last 5 years. It is so gentle to the skin, never leaves my face feeling drawn. It cleans the whole body very well without harsh deodorant.

It has a wonderful soft fragrance that is unisex. I have really bad asthma and it doesn't bother me one bit.

I will give you a heads up when you have it delivered in the Winter it turns almost cloudy like milk. This is normal as it is an all natural product. When you leave it out at room temp it will turn back to the beautiful golden color and it will not be harmed. I called the company last year thinking I had the wrong product. So don't worry if that happens.

I don't think you will be disappointed with it. I have given it as gifts in the bar form and this form and people have loved it.

I ordered this set expecting a mild soap that could be used on face and body. I wasn't expecting the very strongly scented soap, akin to Irish Spring or other bar soaps. I certainly wasn't going to use this on my face. So I put the bottles in the shower. My husband seems to like it, and the soap does seem to have a smooth texture and lathers nicely. But the bathroom smells of this for a long time afterwards. It's a clean smell, I suppose, but very strong.

My boyfriend got this product for my mom to try. She said it worked well, so I used it because I have dry hands and skin. One application and I was sold! The cream left my hands and face feeling smooth and revitalized. It has placenta extract in it, so it's supposed to heal the skin. It's working very well for me. The wrinkles under my eyes are less noticeable, and my skin is so soft and smooth. They also have Placente Moisturizer Cream Regular (8 oz) and Placente Gold Essence Cream (8 oz). The regular cream is less potent, but just as good especially for younger women, while the Gold Essence is more potent and made for post menopausal women. Give it a shot. I did, and I don't regret it at all!

I love this product and I'm happy to be able to purchase it on amazon. I have dry sensitive skin and this is gentle enough for me. It exfoliates my skin so it doesn't look so dry all the time. It is also made for dry skin and when your done cleansing it feels very soft and clean.I highly recommend this product.

This is by far one of the best facial cleansers I have ever used. And trust me, like most women, I have used plenty.

While it doesn't appear to do much at first, it does a lot over time. When I use this facial cleanser day and night my skin stays perfectly clear all the time (even during those beautiful times of the month).

The smoothness of this product is really nice and I love the tiny,gentle exfoliating beads as well.

Make sure you know your skin type, though. I had used the Oily/Combination skin cleanser from Mary Kay as a backup cause I had ran out of my Normal/Dry skin cleanser and the Oily/Combination cleanser made my skin feel very tight and rather dry. When I use the Normal/Dry skin my skin looks and feels perfect though.

Stumbled on this here in my endless quest to find a cleanser that both gets off makeup and cleans well, and doesn't irritate my super sensitive skin. In a million years I wouldn't see myself as a Mary Kay product person (seemed like a corny old ladyish line), but I was really wrong and I am admitting it.

I don't like that there is paraben in the product, but it's low on the list of ingredients and in any event you do wash the stuff off, and the rest of the ingredients are impressive. (I have been following my cleaning with this some Weleda Almond Cleanser afterward because it's very soothing.)

The cleanser comes out of the tube in a nice marshmallow like consistency, but when you apply and wet it, it gets milky, not really too lather-y. My skin felt clean after, not annoyed and not too tight. The best part was the next day waking up and my skin not looking bumpy and red which it will if the product doesn't agree with my skin.

This soap is excellent for dry, sensitive skin. It moisturizes well and is not perfumed. It does have a strong olive scent. I highly recommend it for men with sensitive skin.

I really liked this soap. Yes, it does smell really nasty (not noticeable on your face, but basically everywhere else). It lathers very nicely (a little goes a long way). The bar is green with 'Kiss My Face' right in the middle. I used this on my face and follow it up with a prescription lotion.

I am extremely impressed with what it has done to my acne almost unnoticeable now! HOWEVER, I can't let myself buy this again (at least not without first buying a heavier moisturizer) because it dries my skin. My skin is combination anyway, but this has OLIVE OIL. I have worn Prada for women for years and I love it more than any fragrance I've ever worn. Protective Day Cream with Cynergy TK Keratin by Pure Source

After reading the reviews of this product and all the articles on Cynergy TK I ordered the 3 pack that has the day, night, and eye creams. I must say it has a nice texture (although night cream is a bit thicker and needs more rubbing in), feels nice on the skin, and has a nice subdued smell. But if you are using this for its anti-aging properties i think you will be disappointed. I am 35 so my skin isn't that bad to begin with, you would think that I would see some type of difference in 2 weeks and there is nothing. As a matter of fact my face, especially under the eyes, are swollen in the morning. Today I noticed red blotches under both eyes. To be fair I do use a serum before applying the Pure Source creams and it may have been caused by something else entirely but I'm pretty sure that these products are not the magical potions people might think they are. Also although they list ingredients they do not list the quantities and as one reviewer has already said I suspect the amount of Cynergy TK is low, otherwise it would cost a lot more than what these products do. Bottom line good as moisturizers but get a different anti-aging product.

As a 64 year old with facial wrinkles around the nose and mouth, thanks to a prescription for Retin-A in various concentrations I use at night, I use this product as a moisturizer when using my various manufacturer over the counter Retinol. The combination of products is eliminating the wrinkles.

I bought the 3-pack bundle with the day, night and eye cream for about $35. After reading about Cynergy TK and being more aware of "natural" products I was curious to try it. I have to say that after one month of using it, I am pretty happy with the look and feel of my skin. The product has a light fruity smell, penetrates quickly and hydrates all day even in the winter time given the fact that it's not a particularly heavy product. My skin has stayed hydrated during skiing and all winter I haven't suffered dry patches like I normally do. I don't know how well the anti-aging ingredients work since my skin isn't quite there yet, but I do know I've tried a lot of creams in my day and am please to find one that doesn't feel tacky or greasy or leaves my skin tight and dry. I am a bit confused as this product contains Benzophenone 3, dubbed 'the most powerful free radical generator known to man'. The other ingredients (C, E, Retinyl-A) look good for your skin, and the Cynergy TK an unknown factor which allegedly helps rebuild collagen, but nobody else seems to sell it.

I don't know if this product really works or not, but I admit I'm a bit disappointed in the Benzophenone. I'm going to hold off using this until I research more.

This is a great sponge. Soft, but durable. I think it's better than Bath & Body Works sponges. It's definitely cheaper! And, since it comes in a 12-pack, it sure beats having to buy a new one all the time. The only minor complaint is the hand strap. A small rope would've been better. The strap is made of the same material as the sponge, but stretches. There aren't as many places for it to hang when not in use.

The sponge is high quality. It is tightly packed and doesn't come undone after a couple of weeks like most body sponges. It is about the size of a grapefruit. But I will take quality over size any day.

ShiKai Shampoo, Everyday, Natural, 12-Ounces (Pack of 3)

I used to use ShiKai shampoos and conditioners when the company first started marketing them in Southern California. At the time, they were known for having truly chemical-free products. They were wonderful and everyone I knew used them.

Then, after a few years, my friends and I noticed a drastic change. Yes, the labels read differently; chemicals were now listed. So we all stopped using this brand.

I have over time used other brands but it seems that, sooner or later, every one of them falls down that slippery slope of cheapening their products by quietly sneaking in chemicals. It doesn't fool us when they claim that they don't use sodium lauryl sulfates when they start adding something that is chemically nearly identical. The end result becomes apparent.

So, after going through that with three different shampoos lately, I broke down and bought Suave, figuring it was hopeless. But with scalp irritation continuing, in frustration, I decided to try ShiKai again, hoping it wouldn't be as bad.

To my amazement, not only does this product have a chemical stink, but it badly burns if you get even a little in your eyes! I haven't had ANY shampoo that burned my eyes, since I was a child. Besides that, the product doesn't even clean your hair well.

It really is a shame. ShiKai used to be known for having beautiful fragrances, and really working without chemicals. This is why I know that shampoo CAN work without chemicals; I've bought many over the years that were great. Why do they change? Surely profitability is better with happy customers buying products, instead of ripped-off customers never touching any product by a brand name again. I don't get it.

Anyway, I would seriously advise anyone who has sensitivities to chemicals to approach this brand with caution if you decide to try it.

P.S. I have made a point to return to edit this review. I attempted to use this product four times to wash my hair, just to be sure what was causing the problems. Washing and rinsing very thoroughly. Each time, not only does it burn, but it leaves a rash all over my scalp and running down my neck behind my ears. Each time I've used it, the reaction has worsened. I just used it for the fourth time just got out of the shower and my scalp is burning and itching badly. I have further strengthened my opinion that the product doesn't even clean well. Apparently shampoos are not returnable, and I wouldn't dare risk giving this away to anyone. Anyway while I have been sensitive to these chemicals in the past, I have NEVER had such a severe reaction to anything, even the cheapest shampoos, as I am having to this one. I am updating this review with this information to help other shoppers decide whether this product would be problematic for them.

I started using this shampoo about an year ago and is the best shampoo i ever got till date. No other shampoo is a match to this one.

Apart from the natural acacia(shikai), lavender and aloe vera, it also has some other chemicals. Most of them in the shampoo are either less toxic substitutes of the traditional shampoos/future carcinogenics. Olefin sulfonate, cocoamide MEA are made from coconut oil and cocoamidopropyl hydroxysultinate is a cheaper substitute for SLS. All three of them are surfactants, so they should be removing all organic and inorganic matter from the scalp.

Another review mentioned the addition of diazolidinyl urea to be releasing formaldehyde onto hair and scalp and to be carcinogenic, but any of it released should be able to be washed away easily since it easily mixes with water. (The diazolidinyl urea is an antimicrobial agent)

Using enough water to clean off any shampoo is the best thing to do(all shampoo ingredients are water soluble!).

I'm just now running out of my ShiKai everyday shampoo and conditioner. I think this shampoo is great! I don't really know why the other reviewer said it didn't rinse out easily. I haven't had any problem with that.

My real attraction to this shampoo (and the corresponding conditioner) was that the ingredient lists do not contain SLS or a long list of chemicals. When I was looking for a "safe" shampoo at Whole Foods, this was the one with the best ingredient list.

My husband is severely allergic to MSG and ever since he had a big reaction to his soap, he sticks to homemade soap, even for his hair. I have long hair and no allergies so I like using shampoo and conditioner, but I really do believe that our skin absorbs stuff (more than we realize), and it's important to be careful with the different products we use. This shampoo is one that I trust and feel confident using.

I'm going to keep buying it. I really recommend ShiKai to anyone who is paying attention to ingredient lists and wants to use a "safe" shampoo. Actually, even if you really don't care about what is in your shampoo, I still recommend this. It's just a great product.

I used the Shikai shampoo and within 5-10 minutes i noticed that my skin felt like it was burning. I washed off the shampoo but I went on to develop red, raised bumps that itch and are uncomfortable. Today is the second day and it is worse than yesterday. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE MARKET.

I found this shampoo at my local Central Market. In my quest to go "green," I had tried several different shampoos and going "no-poo." No poo just didn't work for me. I looked greasy. Natures Gate Herbal Conditioner Regular

Anyone buying this product in 2008, beware! It is not the same chemical free product that has had great reviews before. Apparently Nature's Gate has reformulated the product and you cannot get the older version anymore. The web page for this product still has the old ingredient list, so buyer beware! I have tried several local stores and online stores, but no one can get the older (better) product anymore.

I absolutely love how my hair feels after using this conditioner. Very silky and soft. Its the best in my opinon. I leave it on for at least five minutes to soak in. I used to use it as a teenager and I'm happy to have found it again. I would like to walk around all day smelling a hank of my hairbut that would look silly. I only do that in private. I do not have any allergies but I am trying to use healthier mostly organic products. The fragrance is what one should be concerned aboutas with any product. But I can't resist.

TriDerma MD Delicate Skin Healing Baby All Purpose Aloe Healing & Cleansing Gel

This gel is fantastic for soothing chafed skin. I alternate it with the Tri-Derma diaper cream when my daughter has diaper rash. I also use it for the redness she gets on her chin when she's teething/drooling and it seems to help within 24 hours. I like that it is steroid-free. I haven't used it yet for sunburn, but I expect I'll have an opportunity this summer, since both of my kids are outdoors from sun-up to bedtime.

This gel is amazing, you can apply it and wipe it off and it cleans lollipop hands in seconds (great for when you're out), or you can apply it and let it dry for protection against chafing and dryness. I use this for my daughter who is now 3 and has very sensitive skin, it's the best for dry cheeks in the winter. Added bonus I apply it to my lips and nothing makes them feel smoother! Other than the brush attachment being a bit too scratchy, it works well enough for daily use. The pads work best with creamy or gel based exfoliators, while the suction head is just for fun. The massager came in handy after exfoliating as it felt very therapeutic.
