I have occasional outbreaks of adult acne and had started to battle one just as this sample arrived. I began using it immediately, and the outbreak has still not completely subsided in two weeks. It didn't get worse, but it also didn't get better.

Pros:

* No strong scent. Some acne products have a very distinct odor, but this does not.

* Easy to store in shower or on counter

* Does not dry skin

* My skin did appear less oily

Cons:

* Did not see any noticeable difference in my outbreak.

* If you're allergic to aspirin, you might have an issue with this product.

I'd still continue to use it as a face wash, but not as a way to effectively tackle my acne.

Prior to switching to Clearasil Ultra, I was using Clean & Clear Morning Burst, which is by no means a bad product, but after using Clearasil, I immediately felt a difference, no it does not have scrub beads, which I do miss, but it still leaves my face feeling clean and silky smooth.

Ok, here's the only problem that I found so far about this face wash, the first time that I used it, my face was so smooth that one of my coworkers thought I was wearing make up, I am a male by the way so that made for an awkward moment. Haha, oh well, at least it's a clean manly face...

Other than that, I love how clean it makes my face feel, highly recommend it...

After using the Clearasil Ultra Daily Face Wash every day for over 2 weeks, no changes in the teen's skin with acne have been observed. The product claims to "fight 100% of acne" but has not done so in the time it was used. It might depend on the type of skin someone has, but it certainly does not work for this one with acne. It does not smell, but it does not seem to be worth trying.

I've never really used Clearasil and I decided to see what the hype was but it turned out it was just that: hype. This product is not good at washing your face at all or keeping away blemishes like it claims it is. If you want a good facial product for cheaper then Clinque products then I recommend Aveeno facial wash, it actually works. This doesn't so please save your money.

I happened along this product while shopping at a local organic grocery in Sebastopol, CA. Since I had recently learned about the harmful effects of SLS and parabens, I was eager to try it out. I have color treated hair, so chose the Rose and Chamomile Shampoo and Conditioner for Color Treated Hair.

I am happy with the way it lathers, as many shampoos without SLS don't seem to lather very well. It cleans and leaves my hair looking and feeling soft.

I also did my own informal hair loss count, and find that I have 90% less hairs in my brush since I began using this product. I would recommend this product very highly. I have tried several other brands, but this is the product I will continue to use!

I switch between this Rose shampoo and EO's Chamomile for my normal/dry hair. This is the heaviest of their shampoos. Smells great--a real treat if you've been using chemically-based shampoos!

I am delighted with this shampoo! First of all, it smells wonderful. Yes, it's got a strong scent, but unlike most fruit-y and over-scented hair care products, this is predominantly the natural smell of roses. Not a perfumery rose, but a "real" rose, much like the wild rugosa rose we have on the coast of Maine. I happen to love it, so I was practically intoxicated with it when I first tried this shampoo.

It lathers up very well. This was a surprise because I've been a bit unhappy with the lackluster lather of most natural shampoos.

It rinsed out well, left my hair clean but not dried out, and shinier than it had been. I have a lot of gray coming in at my roots and color processed ends not a great combo! this shampoo made my fly-away hair look and feel so much nicer. It's a winner! I like it so much I threw away my other shampoos. I kid you not.

I have used the Protective Shampoo for color treated hair and like it's performance. It does not strip hair of color and it gently cleans without drying hair. I do think the rose & chamomile is a fragrance that is strong but nice. I could not continually use it like I can the lavender, though, because the fragrance is so distinctive and not as pleasing/calming as the lavender.

NutraSonic Face Brush Set

If I am going to spend $100 or more on an item, I do a lot of research and I also ask anyone I know if they have the item so I can try it out. I did that here as well. I should start by saying that meant that I had to buy new brushes since I borrowed the Clarisonic from my mom and the Nutra Sonic from one of my friends and it wouldn't be a good thing to use their face brushes in addition to the machine.

Cost of replacement brushes:

Clarisonic (hereafter referred to as "C") $25 on most sites but this varies with sales

Nutra Sonic (hereafter referred to as "N")$15 on most sites but this varies with sales

Ease of switching out brushes:

C: Easy

N: Not hard, but more difficult than the Clarisonic in comparison

Why you want a sonic cleaner to begin with it: Sonic wave technology has long been proven as far more than a gimmick, though it may sound that way at first. Sonic wavelength technology is made up of tiny vibrations that allow you to loosen dirt you could not otherwise. This is why they are used in professional toothbrushes and in the jewelry cleaner machines your jeweler uses. I own both of those items too and I can tell you there is an ENORMOUS difference from that and simply a vibrating sonic-wannabe of either. For your face this means it cleans your pores 6 times better than you can via simply washing, reducing breakouts but also helping take away loose skin on the surface you can't see which clogs pores and dulls skin and renewing skin reduces wrinkles. Having worked in the cosmetic biz myself, I'm well aware of that truth.

So let's get down to how they worked...

To be fair, I used one for one week on one side of my face, twice per day and the other on the other side of my face twice per day.

Sonic Power:

C 300 rotations per second

N 400 rotations per second

The Nutra Sonic was obviously stronger but I didn't measure these rotations on my own...no way could I count that fast. The manufacturers provided these details, both to me and in their advertised specs. This is both a good and bad thing. First, it felt like the Clarisonic only had vibration in the middle part of the brush, not all over, which didn't make much sense to me, but suffice it to say it was just lighter on the power, Nutra Sonic truly felt like it had more power...however, that also meant there was a bit more splatter. I could use the Clarisonic standing up, facing the mirror, with no splatter. However, I used the Nutra Sonic in the shower and with my face down to the sink since the power of it sometimes splashed water droplets.

Yes, both of these models are

Feel:

C Felt a bit heavier, maybe because it has heavier parts or because it has a built-in timer whereas the Nutra Sonic does not.

N Lighter

So I should add....

Timer:

C Built in timer so you don't use it on any part of your face longer than a minute

N No built in timer

Speeds:

C 1 speed, soft. Manufacturer says it's made for "sensitive skin"

N 4 speeds: sensitive, normal, and body brush

(incidentally, there is a Clarisonic that has more speeds as well but it was, at the time of this review, $200 more than the Nutra Sonic that does the same thing and it still had less sonic power. That's the Clarisonic Pro. I'm not writing about this though, because I didn't try it due to the price and already knowing the power wasn't as good as the Nutra Sonic going in.)

N: 3 brush heads for each speed...if your skin is very sensitive, there is a softer brush, if you want greater exfoliation, use the harder brush at normal speed, or soften feet and elbows in the shower with the body brush on high speed. Incidentally, if I have bad breakouts I do sometimes use the high speed on my face to really exfoliate.

Jitter Mode:

C: Has no Jitter Mode setting in addition to speeds

N: Has a jitter mode setting so you can use exfoliation cleansers and pretty much get a pro exfoliation. I prefer Mary Kay's exfoliation cleanser because they are one of the few that uses the exact same exfoliates as dermatologists use...rather than ground peach pits or apricot pits that actually put tiny tears in your skin. Again, that's just from me being in the biz for a few years that I know that odd fact. Olay has a good one too.

N: Low in comparison, but nothing with decent sonic wavelength tech is cheap.

It should be noted that price varies greatly both on Amazon and the internet. Do compare shipping charges as well. Usually I find everything cheaper on Amazon but in this case, for me, Amazon had a link ad on the Nutra Derm page that linked to an outside website that had the Nutra Sonic less and with free shipping so do explore around as sometimes it's cheaper in one place and sometimes another, or sometimes it's cheaper on one but the seller jacks up the shipping.

Cleansers:

In my opinion, skip the upsell for the cleansers of both models if you have the option and just buy whatever brand you like...they are just average cleaners and not worth the extra mark up for the small bottles.

Bottom Line...Cleaning

C: Did a far better job of cleaning than a regular scrubbing with a wash cloth and cleanser, reduced breakouts and smooth feel

N: I expected to like the Clarisonic better, I'll be honest, because in spite of the fact I knew Nutra Sonic had more power, Clarisonic was pricier. You don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes you simply pay for marketing. The pores on the left side of my face where I used the Nutra Sonic were MORE reduced, and my skin was smoother. I can't say I saw a wonderful reduction in wrinkles on either side but it may also be too soon to measure that claim by both brands. I loved the exfoliation mode on the Nutra Sonic and, in all honesty, the speed difference was VERY important to me. Dermatologists exfoliate for a reason: removing the outer layer of dead skin rejuvenates your skin and prevents clogged pores which lead to acne. The soft pulse of the Clarisonic simply didn't do this as much, although I did like it better than a wash cloth. For results, the Nutra Sonic won for me hands down.

Warranty:

C: 1 year but ONLY if your purchase stems from the Clarisonic website. (But the price was far higher on their website when I looked than most other sellers of it.)

N: 1 year regardless of where you buy it.

Conclusion: If you want to use the sonic cleaner looking into a mirror and never in the shower and you have very sensitive skin that doesn't need a deeper clean, the Clarisonic would make you happy. It does clean well. However, if you don't mind looking down near the sink to prevent some random water drops that Nutra Sonic sometimes slings with the greater vibrations, or you want to use it in the shower, or you want to exfoliate or have normal skin that sometimes needs a greater scrubbing (although you can still go with gentle too), I'd choose the Nutra Sonic. Also if you want to use it on your body, the Nutra Sonic works with the intense clean and body brush whereas you can't do this with the Clarisonic. The Nutra Sonic, however, does not have the built-in timer to tell you when you've been on a part of your face for a minute and should move on but, for me, for the cost savings, I can wing it.

I thanked my Sonic cleanser lenders and still remain VERY happy with the Nutra Sonic. Plus now the right side of my face has caught up with the left and is equally as smooth and clean!

UPDATE: I've been using this daily since my review and all these 7 months later I like it even more...works great, no issues. And my mom now has a Nutrasonic too! Ha! Plus, I have not yet had to buy ANY new brushes...they totally hold up and it has a better warranty than the Clarisonic anyway so should I have an issue...I will report back in and exchange it as well...thus far, my makeup is even better and smoother due to no more dead surface skin. I still like it!

Update: I've had the Nutrasonic for a year now. Still have smooth skin, still works great. If it starts stuttering on you that means it's time to charge it. It says this in the directions. I charge mine about once per week.

This is a great product. I noticed within a few weeks much improvement with my skin. Mainly the even tone and smaller pores. I do love how my skin feels tight and clean after I use it. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is the brushes could be easier to remove and replace. Other than that I recommend it to anyone with or without skin issues.

Let me first off say that when I first seen this product advertised I was thinking like most consumers it's garbage so I did my research on the NutraSonic. I looked at reviews then I looked took it one step further and watched videos, one popped up on hsn, clearly the model they used already had beautiful glowing skin... This is a go-to for me. Every time I tried using something else my skin would react in a way that I didn't want it to, but this stuff always works for me. Not only is this product a very gentle way to wash dry skin, but I hear it's a nontoxic way to get rid of head lice as well if you follow instructions that you can find on the web. It doesn't have any perfumy smell, which is good, but it also doesn't smell all that natural -I would have liked a little lavendar or rosemary in it. Still, a very good product that's been around a long time.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Hibiscus Facial Toner

This toner works to a degree, however it doesn't really live up to it's "hypo-allergenic" label. It burns my face a little every time I use it and after researching the ingredients I discovered that the sodium hydroxide it contains is extremely harsh. It is the scientific name for lye and is used as a paint thinner and pipe cleaner. With that being said, the other alba products I've used are very good, this one just isn't.

Glycolix Gly / Sal 10-2 Cleanser 6.7 oz

Great cleanser I use twice a day. Glycolic acid can irritate skin so be careful at first. My skin behaves so much better now.

I have been using this product for the past two months and it has really improved the look of my skin. Pores are smaller, acne breakouts that I get now and then are effectively reduced by regular use. It does make the skin very dry, so I use yhe cera ve moisturizer generously after using this product.

I wish I had found this product years ago. I am over 40 and have had oily skin, large pores, and blackheads since I was a teen. I've tried products of all kinds and all prices. This product was recommended to me by a plastic surgeon and, after only one week, I cannot believe the improvement in my skin. It is smoother, brighter, and the pores reduced. My makeup even goes on more smoothly. Be careful though, overuse can cause dry patches and redness. UPDATE: I recently tried my teenager's Proactive line, as I still have significant blackheads, redness, and large pores after months of using this product. The Proactive is surprisingly working better already than this product did, but I must say, I did see improvement when I used this product, but Proactive has diminished even more blackheads and pores.

This works. since I've used it, I've hadn't had a breakout or skin irritation. it is stronger than the Glycolix Gly sal 5-2 so using it everyday may begin to dry the skin so I use it around "that time of the month". I use the 5-2 regularly. Another wonderful thing is the smell. it smells like baby powder/lotion. it is a gel and its thick and creamy so add some water if needed

I have tried all these products for acne relief and ended up putting way too many layer of foundation on everyday to hide my acne. To my embarassement, my mom was the one who told my to try Oxy products out and I decided to follow her advice and it actually cleared up all my acne in about 4-5 days. Unfortunatly, if you use too much it dries your skin up but a little moisturizer will help that problem.

Basically the best acne product I have ever tried.

I was pleased that the product arrived a day prior to what it said it would. However, after opening the package, I found that I had paid for a product that is old, as the newer J.R. Watkins Cleansing Cream has different (better) ingredients. As this doesn't help my face as the other does, I'm now going to have to find the higher quality product somewhere else.

I've been using this stuff for years now. It's the best. I was able to stop using all moisturizer when I started using this product. It's one of my must-have beauty products.

If you love a product that leaves a soft, supple "residue" after you wash, you will love this stuff. I've been using it for over a year and can't see myself switching. The application feels wonderful, tingly, and refreshing. Sometimes I just let it sit on my face a few moments before washing it off.

Since using this product, I had not had to use any facial moisturizer. I have it, I love the product I have, but I just don't need it! Also, I truly believe my skin looks better than it did when I was using the typical chemical-laden face washes and the necessary follow-up moisturizers on the market. I would have never dreamed of going out in public without some sort of foundation makeup on in those days, but since I've been using this face wash, I now only need a light dusting of mineral powder and not even really that if I don't have the time.

I think this is the best facewash on the market. The only folks who won't like it are those who like to feel "stripped and squeaky clean". This product leaves you feeling super nourished and supple.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Trifix Acne Clearing Lotion, 1.7 oz.

I have wasted a lot of money on acne products that had all sorts of marvelous claims, but ended up not being the miracle cure promised. I was hesitant to try this product, but am so glad that I did. I am finally seeing results!

I highly recommend this product to anyone struggling with acne! Thank-you, Dr. Gross, for creating a product that lives up to expectations!

I really like this product because it does help treat break outs but it is not a miracle product but good. What i dont like is that it runs out fast , i used it once daily and it only lasted for 3 weeks :(

I had high expectations for this product after reading a review on Men's Health magazine, but I was disappointed with the results.

I have had moderate adult acne for years now, and I don't remember the last time my face broke up as bad as it did after a couple of weeks of using this lotion, really bad and I hadn't change anything else other than my acne medication.

I didn't mind the smell, it's pretty strong but I'm used to, I really hoped this worked on my face, but it didn't and the weird part was that I had a stubborn small wart on my right thumb for I almost a year and it refused to go away, after trying all kinds of wart removers, it'd always come back.. that was until I started using this Trifix lotion, amazingly after just that couple of weeks I used on my face, some must've spilled over the wart and it started to just getting smaller and smaller, I decided to keep using it on it (it was either that or the trash bin) and now the wart is gone, literally erased!

Not exactly what I bought this for, but I take the results.

I love this stuff.... It works really well on clearing acne. I have suffered with acne since my teens and still in my 40's with breakouts. Benzoyl Peroxide based cleaners worked the best before this product but they "bleach" your sheets and cloths. This product simply works without ruining cloths, sheets, towels...etc... Its only down side is the slight sulfer smell but I love that are no synthetic dyes or fragrance added. I recommended it to my 16 year old neice who loved the results as well... As always Amazon delivers fast...
